What is Needed ?
« on: August 09, 2004, 07:50:31 PM »
This post is a curiosity question for me.....what do you think Roto Grip needs for their arsenal.  NOT what do YOU WANT, but what do they need to make it better/more complete.

Any and all comments are welcome.....thx

A Supersonic Solid.  Why? To have another solid above the sonic X solid, not as aggressive as the rush though but something that bowlers that hate pearls can still build an arsenal off of. It would be nice if they had a solid comparable to the Detour's reaction(most under rated ball on the market). But at any case a nice solid with a hard arc would be nice.  And I know that you are going to say that they got the Apocalypse, but not everyone can afford one/

ehhh....maybe, but then again maybe not.  I've never thrown the Silver streak, but a friend of mine owns both the Silver streak and a detour(I own a detour also) and the reaction is more flippish for the SS and that arc that I am talking about with the Detour, Maybe if the SS was sanded down a tad it would tone down the flip reaction, but I still think that a piece that has an earlier read than a SS.  Now the Retro ressurection may give that reaction, but they way that I haev mine setup its more skid/flip. But you think that A sold with the Supersonic would react the same as the SS?

P.S.-you gonna be in trouble with Jeffrevs putting down the Apocalypse

ok,.....first things first.......
The Super Sonic IS a solid !!! Just polished.

KOTM is referring to the core / cover combo on the SS solid,....and ya know what, I agree....great, great ball!

The Retro Res should be able to get nice and arcy for you BMM, just ask KOTM how !

And don't worry about the Apoc bashing.....if ya don't like it...ya don't like it...no big deal.........

I think it would be great if they put one of their cores (Retro Res) and wrap it in pearl urethane!!!

AKA,
the Oracle is supposed to be very versatile, and with the right prep and drill can handle a LOT of oil!

In my opinion I think that Roto Grip really needs a true Heavy Oil Ball.  I don't believe that the Oracle fits the bill.  Friction is the number one thing that determines hook.  Some other co.'s have balls that handle much more oil, i.e. Ultimate Inferno, Full Throttle, etc.  I really believe that if Roto grip tweaks the Assault core and wraps it in a stronger cover we may have  the answer to the heavy oil issue.  For me the assault line read the midlane more than the fuel line.  Just my two cents

Admiral,
Have you thrown the Oracle yet ?

Did you throw the original Fuel?

Would a med to heavy particle cover around the Hemi be just too early for true heavy oil?

I think it would be fine, but that's what it would be...for floods..not huge backend, just revving and driving.......

Jeff,

Yes I have thrown both the Oracle and the original fuel.  The Silver Streak Particle is probably my strongest ball.  The oracle rolls really could and reacts a little like a reactive than a particle.  It doesn't have that roll early and roll out action of most particles. It clears the heads pretty good and continues excellent.  I haven't thrown the Oracle on a Flood or any carry down yet. I drilled the oracle the same as my resurrection (my favorite ball by the way) pin below fingers and in the middle of my grip cg kicked about two inches with a 1" weight hole by the thumb. The oracle gets going a little bit earlier than my resurrection but there really isn't that much of a difference.  I think that the Silver Streaks are roto's strongest ball. In my opinion Roto Grip should really look at their high end balls, and come out with a new core, not a modification of the fuel core.  Don't get me wrong all I own is roto grip equipment, but they have me searching for that FLOOD ball.

I wouldn't mind seeing a particle pearl silver streak.

This may be the next ball you see!!!
