Title: Roto Grip Journey
Post by: freestate on February 20, 2007, 10:35:16 PM
It looks like this a International release. What does anyone know about this ball? I cannot find anything on the roto website. I think it is part of the Epic line.

Think of it as a Saga.  With a slightly different coverstock.

The Journey is a great ball. We drilled several at our shop. The cover is 2 parts solid to 1 part pearl, whereas the Saga was 2 parts pearl to 1 part solid.

Translation: The Journey reads the lane a little earlier but still strong on the backend. Very nice reaction....

Here's a picture I snapped a while back.  You can kind of get an impression of the color.  The best way I can describe it is an RSP mix with hot pink and brown instead of maroon and gold.  *edit* I guess technically there are three colors but the one I saw I'm guessing it was black that mixed in with the brown.

Is that a pro pin? the pin looks way out.

The ball comes at 800 matte otherwise it's basically similar to a Saga. Drilled one for my daughter and it's awesome

Yeah, I believe that particular one was labeled "pro CG" rather than pro pin.  The pin and MB were in line about 5 inches apart and the CG was split in the middle, only about 4 inches to the left.
