Just wondering if putting money into a Mars would be worth it.
The ball was given to me so at this point I have no money it. It's a single drill & overall it appears to be in great shape with one exception; there is a slight crack below and around the ring finger hole. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say the coverstock is a solid 8. So at this point I'm looking at having it completely plugged and redrill and resurfaced. And if my "guestimate" is right (or close), that'll cost about $100.
The reason I'm considering this is because the Mars fits the bill of a category of ball I don't currently have; slightly higher RG and designed for drier lanes. So would it be worth putting $100 or so into the Mars or would I be better off spending the money on a new ball?
Thanks!!

I have one and it is absolute money on dry heads or spotty oil from heat or humidity.

Must be costly where you are located. Around here a full plug and redrill with inserts would be $50. But lifted rillo is correct, great piece.

Around here they get $45 for just a thumb; $30 for the plug & redrill and another $15 for a thumb slug. Don't know what they get to plug and redrill both fingers, but the inserts are $5 apiece. Then the resurfacing is $30. So I figure it'd be close to $100.

The ball was only around 120 drilled when new. It sure wasn't a good enough ball to put 100 into used.

Thats kinda what I was thinking after looking at prices of new balls with similar characteristics. Looks like they run about $70-$90 (online) plus drilling. So I'm guessing the pro shop price plus drilling would be about $120 or so.
Thanks!!
