Why do there have to be so many great ball choices? Just want to throw them all xD
as a side note, I'm surprised that they're bringing the Cell name back, but I'm not because the Cell series is what staked Roto on the map
-
Don't forget about the Uproar... Seems to be a pearl version of the Rumble.
-
OH MY GOD! AM I DREAMING F YEAH!
-
I was late to the Roto Grip party. I missed the Cell series. Defiant was my first Roto Grip Ball. Love my Totally Defiant, but have heard great stories of a Cell and a Cell Pearl from a buddy. Now I get to try the core! Yay.
-
Loved my Mutant Cell...but the cover was such a sponge....i may have to dive into the cell world again
-
Just threw my Rogue Cell the other day. So strong, well I don't frankly usually need it. That is a massively strong core.
I use my higher pin up drilled Mission X!
As to the new Asylum. Very similar specs to my newly reloved Sonic Boom which has been showing some great matchups lately. 7 inch from grip center weighthole!
I'm sure upgraded coverstock.

Is it normal to announce the release 2 months in advance? That seems like a long time.

Is this new cell a particle ball?
-
I believe so the micro bite was cobsidered so.
-
'Particle' the most hated word in the bowling industry minus the almighty!
-
I really dont have a problem with it. All newer equipment doesnt last anyways...lets be honest here. Particle meant something 10 years ago.. get a grip people. I dont realky care what the kool aid drinking staffers have to say about their equioment having 250 games on it without diminished performance..ITS B.S....
I have thrown quite of a few balls in my day..none really last anymore than the next, doesnt matter which company...they all hook a lil less every time you throw them. The grip less and less through the pins too...unless youre a staffer then your brand lasts forever...
I make way, WAY more money in sidepots and brackets with a particle ball if the shot I am bowling on is a heavier volume, and on synthetic lanes...it does help for the games that it does last for. Non particles are just a bit weaker. They all have pros and cons..
-
Bill, now tell us how you really feel? Lol. All kidding aside. I understand what you mean about particle. Where I bowl and even shooting tournaments I don't see a use for them in MY game but it could be great for someone else. That's what I like about bowling. You can have one guy bowl crazy and the other guy bowl crappy using the same ball. Bowling really is a 'it's all about you'. Because everyone is different.

"Tell us how you really feel" is my favorite one liner hahaha
All things aside everyones game is like a signature...theyre all unique!

well storm calls nano,particles
microbite just seems to if anything have more of those particles
that's my take at it anyway
-
As a lefty, I still LOVE particles.
My Icon 2 just cracked after about 12 years of great use.
Recently I had a nice set with a Track Spell and it is still my Flat oil ball of choice every time.
Lighter load particles take out the skid we get in the heads on our side and make the backend smoother. Still a big fan.
I think many balls have particle or an attempt to take the fresh out of ball reaction. No friction early and sudden unblended friction later, can make scoring tough early and then when you add a particle everything smoothes out.
Many of these topography looks at balls seem to be an attempt to create a particle like reaction.
As I realize this type of look is not as necessary on the right or at least for not near as long of a time in a set.

PS Some of the best bowling I ever saw in my life was done by wonderful lefty who would start set after set of bowling with 8 or 9 strikes in a row for most of the games of his sets, and it went on for weeks using a Nighthawk SPT, a heavier particle load version of my Track Spell.
PPS I was recently really encouraged using a fellow Lefties Virtual Gravity Nano versus my original Virtual Gravity. Much smoother and more controlled than my more reactive Virtual on the local non blended conditions.

I have been wanting a nice control piece to replace my nightmare. I was going to go to an ebonite demo day to pick something up, but nothing has struck my fancy. Then I saw this ball. I think I can wait 2 months for a ball now lol

Makes it look like the warehouse has a stock full of the new stuff. Why not start selling them on Black Friday?? I can only wish! Wait..... Up Roar too?
-
Stoked for all three! But most likely only getting the hyper cell on its release..
-
I'm excited about the new Hyper Cell also. Just shot a 279 game today with my Mutant Cell Solid. The entire Cell series are great!!! Keep it up Roto!!! My only request is to keep the Wrecker in the lineup.

I would assume they will make a scream shout hybrid and a new wrecker with that uproar/rumble core in it?
-
Being a bowler with a higher rev rate, i would love to see a scream and shout hybrid.
-
being someone who missed the whole theory and cell lines, I would love to see them re-run these series into the microbite cover line, and maybe bring the virtual gravity nano into play too.

Here it is. The first 2 videos that I've seen with the Hyper Cell.
The first video is from Japan. It also compares the Defiant Soul side-by-side on a 42ft medium-heavy pattern.

The second is from bowlersdeals.com showing Joshua Tajiri and Zach Jellsey throwing it.

Bowlersdeals.com posted theirs too...no comparison tho.
