mb placement on a pro pin?
« on: June 22, 2007, 02:03:17 PM »
I just bought a pro pin epic journey the question I have is has anyone had a pro pin ball that had the mb closer to the pin than the cg this ball has the small rg label 7" from the pin and the cg is 10" from the pin never seen this before was curious if this is common or possibly mislabeled?

It is somewhat common for a pro-pin ball to have an extremely large Pin out, thus is why they are called pro-pins (or as some prefer BLEMS!).

"pro pin" or "pro cg" are nice ways of calling a ball a blem.

That's common for Pro-Pin asymmetric balls.

Don't worry, you can still use it. Draw a line from the pin through the MB. At 13.5" inches away from the pin is the anti-pin. Use this just as you would the normal pin. So now you have a ball with 3" pin distance and the RG is in the range that it should be

I do this with very long pin symmetrical cored balls... never thought it would work with Asym's though...
