There are 2 guarantees when Scroggins makes a TV show........

1.  He will miss a single pin spare
2.  He Will lose his match

He is almost too predictable.

He may have missed some spares but fifth out of 64, thats not too shabby.  Give the guy some credit!  and its his second or third appearance so he's not bowling that bad.

I like scroggy and think he has more talent and is much better than most of us dreamed of being, he can hook a ball plenty watched him last year at the Vegas stop the entire day.

Never saw him wiff a single pin spare or miss any spare when i watched him, his roll is better live than you think.

I could care less what a bowler looks like as long he is trying his best at all times, Mike gives you all he has no matter what happens.

He "looked" better when he threw a Storm ball.

I don't think the ball mattered. He had a fine look with Roto Sunday, and a fine look with Storm a few weeks ago. You have to also remember that the lanes are different each week, as are the oil patterns.

Plus, it's not the ball that makes the difference when you miss single pin spares and/or miss your mark on shots.

What did Scroggins say about league bowlers at the Masters?

He said something like "Threw that one like a league bowler" when he threw a questionable shot and still struck.  I can't say it was a really terrible shot, but he thought so.

Since then he's missed two or three single pin spares that I can remember and lost just about every match he's been in on TV.  I understand that no one is perfect on single pins, but when he misses them, everyone notices.

I can't say the Roto and Storm balls he's been throwing have looked bad.  Almost everything looks good in the hands of a pro.  "Almost", because he sure isn't making me want to buy a Denny's spare ball.

Lets keep in mind that he was the highest average league bowler in the ABC record books before Jeff Carter broke that record a few years ago.

SO, if you average 250 in league for an entire season you aren't shooting at many spares, but hey you can't afford to miss them either.

Mike makes lots of TV shows. It's exposure and that's what counts.

Mike had a pretty good Sunday regardless.  Like Matt said, 5th is nothing to sneeze at.  On another similar note, he played in one of my FF leagues.  I knocked him out of the playoffs yesterday

Amen to that.  Mike is a great bowler and we are lucky to have him throwing Roto Grip equipment.  I know he will work out whatever spare issues he is having and win some matches in the near future.

Mike needs to forget he's bowling on TV and he'll be fine.  It's all mental with him on TV day.

I find it interesting that when he makes the show and threw Track, people were blaming/bashing the equipment he was using.  It's nice to finally see that people are realizing with Mike, it's not the equipment.

"OH...he left an open...well, he wont let happen again...."

Sorry couldnt help myself. Mike is a great bowler even though he isnt "easy on the eyes". It has gotten mental for him, he either whiffs a single of throws a washout and thats it for him.

It was good to see Roto Grip on TV again. It actually made me root for Scroggins to win a few matches. The shirt looked fantastic, by the way. I think Roto Grip has the nicest logo of all the bowling companies.
