Sonic X solid Hmm maybe really good?
« on: July 15, 2005, 12:40:46 AM »
Just whipped up and drilled a new to me Sonic X solid drilled stacked next to ring.  Polished to 1000!

Hmmmmm.

Started yesterday like cr_p and then switched to this ball.

Missed the pocket 1 ball!  Awesome carry flush.  Very good on light mixers but a touch wide with nice recovery would leave 7 7 7 7 and then fatefully a beautiful looking 9th frame a 7 10 flush!

Turned two beautifully thrown games into mediocrity but I will say it revs up, arcs stong has nice lenght and can really look good humming back on wet dry lanes.

I had used the Sonix pearl and it was always a nice ball with NO area for me and a little skittish!  Sonic Boom had some area but sort of too much backend. This one seems to have some area the breakpoint is the right place and I must admit i've just recently done a small span tweak and may have to adjust pitch or bevel a touch to get out a little cleaner on the sevens.

First impression is this may be somethin to love in the league of my Panic but handles a little more volume than Panic.

REgards,

PS my first two games with this ball should have been 235 235 but due to the 7-10 and some 7 pin pickup errors...oh well

Lucky,

I am really surprised that you polished yours up to 1000 grit. I have two. One drilled 5.5x 4.5, pin over the bridge. It's my "lanes dryin' up and gettin' spotty....save me" ball! And the other polished to about 800...4x4. Gives a nice strong turn at the breakpoint, and I can use it on some mediums.

But the #1 ball, with the early roll drill, is rather scuffed. Very little polish, yet it gets me outta jams time and again. Has a slow continuous move on the backend, but just rips the rack, flush or lite!! Got to be one of Roto's all time best balls.

Whenever I have too much polish on either of these balls, I either ping 10-pins or ping 7-pins.

We have very dry lanes but....hmmmm!

The trajectory at this point looks so nice and pins are a flying with two types of hits, but light.....with lots of attack angle.....hmmmmm
