I've been going through my dad's old bowling ball collection and I found 2 SD-73 balls, both look brand new. I remember there being a big issue with these balls, but what can you tell me about them?
-
Before I got seriously into bowling, but they had some of the highest differentials around. 0.075, brushing near the 0.08 limit. I think they were banned from PBA competition, but having just checked the PBA approved ball list, there are three listed, the SD-73, the Limited Edition, and the Pearl.
Probably decent enough balls in their day, the LE was released (err, PBA approved) in mid '03, the others in '01. I'll bet they're worth decent money, especially if they're new.

If it is the SD-73 from the late 90's, they were banned from PBA competition due to the coverstock hardness. I believe PBA allows 75, while USBC (ABC at the time) allows 73 (hence the name). The lower the number the softer the coverstock. Knew some people that had one, good ball, nothing spectacular. Probably work good as a med-heavy ball.

how much for the balls drilled for right hand or left give a price !
All stuff drilled right hand. I've got a few PM's from people over the past few days questioning if I'd sell them. Shot me an offer and I'll let you know.

The first ball is the original, not the pearl. I believe the second ball is an original also.
The SD-73 is still the first ball out of my bag. Great length and a hard, smooth turn when it hits the dry.

, the 2 I have are the same I just wasn't sure which version it was. The pictures I've seen the two look almost the same (original vs pearl), but I haven't found allot of different PICs.
BTW I put #1 on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7210714053&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1

I had the pearl verson of this ball it hit harder then any ball i had at the time. I got rid of it because it went dead from being redrilled to many times. It had 4 drillings when it did.

I have the Original and Pearl. The word "SD-73" is two tone on the Pearl, the original is a solid color SD-73.
