High School Bowling Tryouts
« on: November 15, 2004, 09:10:52 AM »
Well, just got back today from tryouts and I rolled a 600 series. I'm in the top 5 for the team, which is good considering we have 5 200 plus avgs. on the team. I avg. aroung 170 so I'm really happy about my situation. Anyone else bowling for high school?

Our high school doesn't even have a bowling team. Rather sad, I believe. I'm pushing to change that, though. I'll have to have a talk with the principal.

I bowl for my high school. Our team sucks though.I average 180 and the next person on my team is a 120 bowler. We lost 4 of our 5 starters last year so we're kinda screwed this year.

Wrong forum for this, but i'll reply anyway

My highschool beats all of you, we lost 8, yes 8 200+ bowlers. 7 graduated and one moved. I was on JV last year with a 213 average for the season, that's the caliber team we had. This year, anyone around 160 will be making the team, kind of a let-down. Where do you guys bowl for school? I'm Shore Conference North, in New Jersey. Any other Jersey kids on here?

My son (10th grade) has tryouts tomorrow and Thursday.  He didn't have any seniors on the team last year, but two kids are dropping out, which leaves 7 from last season.  The coach said that he's taking the top 8 scorers from the tryouts, regardless of whether they were already on the team the previous season.  I estimate that about 6-7 kids will be trying out.  We don't have a junior varsity.  This will be my son's third year on the team.

It'll be sort of rough on an existing team member if he doesn't make it.

Debbie
