Title: Shout question
Post by: 2handedrook12 on February 09, 2014, 06:54:47 AM
I've been recommended by someone I trust to take a weaker ball (like the Shout), drill it strong, and change the surface to 500 with some polish. Any thoughts on this?

The shout is a great ball. Why 500 and polish? The cover is weak and very clean

What are you trying to accomplish?

I wanted a ball with a secure midlane read without the ball puking because of the core+cover combo. I don't want a ball necessarily for light oil. I have used a shout with a strong drilling before and it gave me the look I am looking for. I am not a guy who needs to cover 20 boards, but I do need a ball that will still grab the lane very hard without dealing over and and under I often see from balls that are too much. And the Shout I may get will not be @3000 grit. Besides, it wouldn't have the angle I need and that would defeat the purpose of getting one.

I bought a Shout from someone in good shape for $15. I threw it w it's current surface last week and shot average (splits from my own fault). I changed the surface to 500/polish and I threw a 265 on my first game. Loving my arsenal right now and it is almost complete.
