Light-medium oil....which is better for carry down...

In light-medium oil...which is better against some carry down; the Saturn or the Mercury? I would assume, due to the matt finish, the Saturn would be the choice, but I thought I might just as well ask the experts before closing up my bag for this week.

Also....anyone know when the Epic Saga is going to hit the public market?
I've got one on pre-order from bowling.com and was just wondering when it might be hitting my doorstep...er...arriving at my doorstep that is. (I already broke my glass screen door last week with a bowling ball, don't need to temp more damage!)

I've never thrown the Merc but my OOB 'Turn destroys carrydown.  From everything I've heard A Merc needs absolute burnt lanes or screaming backends to even get to the hole.

The Merc is a great ball but it won't come close to the Saturn on carrydown.The base resin is a completely different formula according to my Roto Grip rep.The Saturn's resin came from a new supplier and has had terrific results for many people.It would be hard to find another ball as versatile as the Saturn for anywhere near the money!

The Saturn would be the current ball of choice for some carry down in the Roto entry level catagory, but also look for the Venus it's a particle pearl to be released in July along with the Saga around the 27th of this month.

The Mercury is a relative weak ball and doesn't handle carry down very well. Best bet is to take the lane out of play by coming straight up the back and ROLL it. Otherwise, take about 30% off your normal speed.
