Ball/Layout question
« on: September 22, 2003, 07:29:02 PM »
My house recently went synthetic. There's a pretty substantial OB and the backends are pretty tame. The shot looks to be a weak hand up twelve or thirteen. The issue is the more you try to loop it, even deep, you always run into the shot that mysteriously won't finish. I have a pretty strong hand which prevents me from going straight up the boards. I'm looking to go relatively deep (26-23) to stay away from any trouble. There seems to be enough oil inside to hold this line, I was just wondering what ball and layout would work best. I've thought about the Silver Streak pearl. Only other option would be to try and play up the boards with something tame enough to get through the heads, but with enough to open up the backends. Any thoughts and thank you.

If your A game is inside than lets find you the right ball and layout for that shot if it is playable.  If the lanes won't allow it you have to have that B game ready and the right ball to play up the boards.  I would suggest a Pure Fuel before a SS Pearl.  When getting in that deep both balls are great, but you said you have trouble with getting the balls back as it sounds like we do have some oil in the middle.  I would suggest the Pure Fuel in this situation as pearl particle always work a little better than a pearl reactive deeper inside.  Please advise ball speed and rev rate.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Krumpy,
I can't compare you to me ( enter a profile so we know a little about your game) but I'm a right handed, medium speed and revved tweener.  I have a Pure Fuel drilled with a 4 inch pin and the mass bias in my track, box condition.

I play on an extreme medium top hat, 35 ft on AMF synthetics.  This ball works really nice standing 25 over the 3rd arrow , out to 6-7 at the break.....

It's not the same shot, but it's inside just the same,.....just wanted to chime in to see if this would help.   Get back to Roger with info, he'll steer you in the right direction !

Thank you Roger and Jeff. I don't have exact numbers but to describe myself: I put about 17-19 revs on the ball. I am a little above average speed and my roll is pretty high compared to most. Most of my stuff is set up pin above ring finger and CG either stacked below or slightly right. I've never had much success with the pin between the fingers or below. Thank you again for your help.
