Title: Springfield Tourney ?
Post by: ajensen on May 17, 2010, 07:18:37 AM
I just over the weekend bowled in Springfield. I did not bowl like I had wished. I tried something aggressive with a Cell ,no hole. It seemed to be the right way to attack and break down as the games went on I found myself switching balls and not finding the right way to the pocket. I shot 550 in team and as they went on the fronts got dry and the backend became tight.
In hind sight I would say that a Nomad solid kicked out with a hole or a nomad pearl with a hole and then a Dark Star to finish up. Those would work well. If you have any of these balls with out holes then that would be a good switch as the smooth ball with a hole starts to become to much.

Springfield? What state?

Duct tape is like 'The Force'. It has a light side and a dark side, but it still holds the universe together.

Some days you're the bug some days you're the windshield.

I would assume Missouri for the Greater Ozarks tournament.  I've always found the shot there to be tough for me.  But I'm just a house hack.

Typically the shot plays around 20 at enterprise and sunshine in springfield, mo. Usually hang at 7. A couple of years ago i shot 760+ on the fresh in singles playing up 7 with a gravity shift 2000 ab pin under. The only ball I used and did not move but 2 boards left. Talk about luck! You''re better off on the 2nd squad of the day. I did not bowl this year there. First time in 10 years I did not bowl. It is a fun tournament and a money maker on the brackets if you bowl well.
