I have had the Critical since day 1. I am unsure of the layout because my proshop guy doesn't give me much info. I know it is pin up with a rev/weight hole. I have disliked it since buying it. I also have a Storm Optimus Solid with the pin down and I love it. My questions to you guys are: has anyone drilled a pin down Critical ? Did you like it? What is your favorite surface?

I'd try having the pro shop take the critical to 2000 abralon. It will make the critical react not necessarily similar but I'd assume it's not reading your shot as good as the optimus. That will help it get more midlane...which you are probably enjoying with the optimus solid...
