Title: Strike Cell
Post by: pocketsmasher51582 on November 25, 2008, 04:18:49 PM
I was just curious as to what the main difference between the original CELL and the Strike Cell is.  I Really like my cell even though its drilled some what weaker to my standards which i think is why i really like it.

I am thinkin of getting one either from some one on here if they have one or maybe on ebay.  I noticed on ebay it says they are blems because most of them have long pins on them.  I normally like longer pins any ways because you have of a wider range of layouts you can put on them.

If any one has one of these and can let me know what kind of reaction it has please do so.

Finally if i was to get one and it has a longer pin and is a BLEM would there be any specific way to drill it.

Thanks.

These are hybrid coverstocks from what I have heard it will give you a look near the Cell Pearl. It will be much more angular than the original Cell. With a Longer pin you will most likely be forced to place the pin above the fingers which will just increase the angular nature of the ball.

I have both the Cell and the Strike Cell. Unfortunately i do not have the same drilling on both balls. I have my Strike drilled 5 x 4 1/2 mb pin under and my Cell 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 mb pin up, My Strike was a blem because of 5 oz top weight. Due to my short span and large holes i  was able to end up with ok weights on the ball. As for as reaction goes the original will deffinatly handle higher volumes of oil. The Strike however has a more angular move to the pocket. Less angular than the Cell Pearl but more than the original.

So basically you are both saying that it fits right in the middle of the Cell Pearl and Original Cell.  Thats cool.  Did both of you do the relocated pin drilling like Mustang Guy stated.  Let me know.

This overseas release bowling ball uses the same core as the Cell solid sold to the US market but the coverstock is a hybrid (2 parts solid  - 1 part pearl) vs the 2 part solid of the Cell. The ball is also factory polished vs the 2000 grit abralon  of the solid.
