Title: Surface on a Cell Pearl
Post by: pintobeaner on January 02, 2010, 07:12:18 AM
Anyone take their surface on the cell pearl down to say 1000 or 2000 abralon?

After purchasing a Hyroad and a Reign, my cell pearl has dropped down a couple of notches on strength. Seem to have a big gap down from my Virtual to the Reign and Hyroad.  Thanks for any help

My arsenal is

Virtual Gravity  60x65 4 inch pin
Reign  65x35 3.5 inch pin
Hyroad 55x60 4 inch pin
Cell Pearl 60x55 4 inch pin

I have tried mine at 2000 and did not like the reaction. Try 4000, it gives the cell pearl a smooth strong reaction.

I keep my Cell Pearl at 4000. I have taken some of the Utah balls in the past down to 2000 (Gravity Shift, Domination, Second Dimension) with decent results. I did this a couple of times on longer shots where the backs were clean. It helped blend out the wet/dry a little more. The Gravity was phenominal on the Scorpion and heavier house patterns at 2000.

Update from my earlier post.  Took the ball down to 2000 for league last night.  Threw it in practice for a couple of balls, and it made a strong smooth move to the pocket.  Ball reacted just what I was looking for.  Bowled a couple of games after league, and ball worked great.
