I've decided that tomorrow we might have to adjust the voting results. Of course something we did not think about was the survey is setup so someone can continue to vote and vote. We do not want an unfair result, so I will discuss with our team tomorrow.

People have worked hard on their vids and should not have to worry about losing because they don't "know" enough people to cast votes for them. I know that the rules have already been made(or maybe this is be voted on by the top 10), or this should be a consideration for next time. Also one other note, realistically who wants to sit through 10 vids(some lasting as long as 4-5 minutes before voting? I think that would turn the unbiased voters off. But the way it is set up now I do not think that the best video is going to win.
Just my opinion.

The video length is something i wondered about... some of the longer ones may take to long to load and people might turn off befor ethey get to the funny bits!
How about RG pick a winner, they get the Cell, and everyone else in the top ten gets a globe ball

We have decided to leave the contest as is. This is the first time we have ever done something like this, so now we know for next time. Trust me...this isn't the last time we plan to do this. I thought the concept was great and I really enjoyed all the videos. I'm happy to give away all the free product to our customers.
So the current votes stand and hopefully the best video will win! As an added bonus for the 9 finalists who don't win the grand prize I'll throw in 1 of those cool T-Shirts we offered to the 7 consolation prize winners.

I have received personal e-mails of gratitude for offering the contest, but concern from alot of people not even in the contest or submitted a video. I feel compelled to do something. This was meant to be something fun and rewarding. I would like to keep it that way.

There definitely needs to be a reformat on the competition's results, I want this competition to be as fair as possible.

Whatever you want to do is fine with me. I have video number 10 (still in the single digits). You've honored me with being in the top 10 and, at the very least, the experience was a ton of fun for me and my seven-year-old son/assistant.
I do feel fortunate that the initial voting was internal to Roto-Grip. I felt I had a chance in that regard. Once it goes to the general populus voting, who knows... There were a couple other videos I really liked, and made me regret not finding time to add text graphics or making the mouth move as he talked. If it stays a popularity vote, I hope it at least goes to a video that deserves it.
Thanks much for the opportunity/contest. The Cell is a great ball and deserves all the buzz this type of customer-participation can generate.

Also for future contests I think that maybe you could have 2 categories like: one for just on lane presentation(For the people that just want to be graded on vid skills throwing a certain ball) and Dramatic(Those of us who want to do a little more).
I think its hard for the 2 to go up against each other. I dunno thats my take. I'll wait for the youtube e-mail though.

Far be it for me to stop the conversation but I don't think anyone should have to explain themselves. Nor do I think it is fair to blame anyone for the currenty voting turnout. Lets try to leave it at that. As bowlingmytmouse stated it is over $700 in free equipment and I can only imagine that need to win that. I'm sure other people who saw videos climbing fast did what anyone would do...follow suit. You can't blame anyone for that.

I also think the number of views on the You Tube page is a moot point. I campaigned everybody I could think of to vote for my video,I'm sure they just voted and never watched the videos.I'm sure everybody else with a video told their friends and family to vote for theirs.They would be crazy not to.
I think you made a good choice by having the office staff decide which one they like the best. Simple and safe.

Good point... really depends what type of video you prefer! I didnt even think of doing an "acting" style one, not to say just as much effort was put into my vid
But i think if there is a similar competition again, I will do some acting.... not that any of you will be able to understand my accent!! hahaLoving this competition either way, ROTO GRIP RULES!!!
