Title: The ORIGINAL Roto Grip Outlaw?
Post by: bowler100 on February 22, 2019, 12:37:00 PM
Have any of your guys heard about this ball or thrown it back in the day? I found one in GREAT condition and was curious what it would do on lighter house conditions.

Ahhh yes.  :). One of my favorites of all time.  That ball was good on just about anything. So dam versatile. Took to surface adjustments great. You could hit it with surface and use it on heavy oil, or shiny all the mediums, to dry. Had a Roto Grip berserk, which was the hybrid version. Hated that ball. Go figure. I think color has a lot to do with it, and the way a ball reacts. Outlaw was a dark maroon, almost black. Berserk was orange. Bandit was the pearl version, never had one. For me the outlaw was the perfect core to cover combo. Wish rg would reissue it.

I still have one. To this day it is my most favorite ball motion on the lanes. It is exactly as Geigs described it!

Multi-functional!! I have put surface on mine and used it on medium heavy oil, and it is excellent on light oil, as well, once shined up!! Of course it's just as dynamic as a medium piece also. The ball just moves on the lane and scatters pins all over the place.

I always wanted the Bandit, its pearlized brother but I never picked one up.

It almost sounds like you guys are describing the (remade) Roto Grip Outlaw from about 7 years ago. Just to be clear, you guys are describing the 90's Outlaw, correct?

No, the one from 7 years ago. That’s the one I thought you picked up, and meant. Never had the original from the 90’s.

Nope, I found the extremely rare 90's Outlaw.

Wow. Congrats. What the hell give it a shot. Probably work on the dry, gutter house pattern. Or some short tournament patterns like cheetah. Lot like today’s urethane balls. Let us know how it works out for you.
