Title: Totally Defiant
Post by: Elimeno Pee on August 15, 2013, 08:25:28 AM
So far, excellent.  Was looking for a ball to go straight through the heads and middle, and almost bounce off the break.  Great looking reaction, nice colors allow you to really see the revs.  Only got to play 1 game on fresh, the first one.  Hit the first ball strike, and while playing with starting spots, seeing where I could go, hit 5 more in the game.

Then got to go late bowling last night, went behind a sport shot league, only lanes that had some oil, and still impressed.  I wasn't impressive, I apparently over the summer of not bowling have started cupping the ball in the middle of my swing, but that hopefully got worked out last night.  Either way, this ball looks to be quite enjoyable, and one of the missing pieces to my arsenal

the original defiant I didn't quite find the right use for it either.  had it originally pin under, then went pin over thumb kicked out about 3".  still a very situational ball.  ended up hitting it with a 4000 pad, and I think it finally showed me something I could use, but haven't bowled much this summer.

Got my Totally on Tuesday , and used it tonight.  Pin down drill - has a 2-2.5 inch pin. My impression of this ball is skid/flip -- goes long and comes back with a "Totally Defiant" punch, but it is not a uncontrollable flip, but it is STRONG!  Ball is also very smooth, gets through the heads with ease, and for me, more speed than revs it matches up well and really makes that left turn again with a vengeance! Way more back end than the Edge. I love it so far! Roto rules!

I got to use mine again for a bit tonight. this time on much better oil.  found a nice line, 182, 197, 212, 236 with front 5, not bad for a 203 average, not bowling much over the summer.  very easy to get this ball to the break point.  very nice "bounce" off the break point.  Agreed that this is a very strong reacting ball, but easy to push out farther.  Can't wait for my season to start.
