wanting to get a horizon solid.. any thoughts on this ball
« on: February 23, 2007, 04:27:17 AM »
i would like to get the horizon solid. im looking for a stronger ball than what i currently have. my current arsenal is: rsx, rsp, rush, and wrath xp. i bowl on wood lanes, 43 ft pattern, 7 to 7. also, will be bowling in a pba experience league in may, so i want ball to help on those conditions as well. im a high rev, 18-19 mph, lot of hand, likes to open up the lane. let me know what you guys think..thanks

I have the RSP and the Horizon solid and it definately would be a great choice , but you may also wan to consider the Odyssey. Odyssey is probably 5-7 boards stronger than the Horzon solid from what I understand. But for the price you cant beat the Roto Grip Mid line equip. The Horizon solid will be earlier and stronger than the RSP... Hope this helps.

The Horizon Solid is a great choice but the SD-73 may matchup a little better for what you are looking for (wanting to open up the lane).  Both are very strong but the SD-73 has more kick and continuation downlane.  My SD is about 4-5 stronger downlane than my Horizon.

If you wanted something with a potentially sharper break, take a look at the Odyssey.

I have the all 3, SD73 Classic,RSP,Horizon Soild. The SD73 is a very strong hard arc/flip on the backend 1000 w/reacta shine drilled 4x5 not a great midlane due to the polish. The RSP is a very versatile strong arcing ball, more on the back great recovery that every one should have IMHO, it is my favorite all time ball, 800 w/Moon Shine 4x4.5. The Horizon Solid is another strong arcing ball with a huge midlane and continuation on the back, oob 4.25x4.5. All have great hitting power. It all depends on what you are looking for and lane conditions.

My horizon solid will be here Thursday, I'll post a review when I punch it up.
