SSSE Dead?
« on: January 01, 2007, 04:57:59 AM »
When I got this ball it was a monster on the backends for ab out the first 6 months or so then it lost all of its snap.  It now acts like more of solid with an earlier roll.  I have a Lane 1 uranium that I basically retired after I got the SE but I am now using it again because it seems to go longer and turn harder than my SE which wasn't the case when I got my SSSE.  I have tried tweeking the cover and nothing seems to work, don't get me wrong, it is still a great all around ball but it just doesn't seem to have the snap it used to.  I even had my driller put in an axis hole that would make it go longer and hook more on the backend, it helped a little but it is still not the same ball.  Any suggestions as to what I could do to get the snap back?

Cleaning #1, but more than likely you just need to put a little polish on it.  If the track is burned in real good that will make it read earlier and smoother.

I'd never tried the hot water bath before but I did with this ball and it worked wonders.  Hooks almost like it's new.

I polish it every 15-18 games, I have also tried changing the surface from 1500 to 1200 to 1000 to 4000 and nothing seems to get the snap back.  I will try the hot water bath and see how that works.

Well, I just took second place in our monthly king of the hill tournament with my SSSE so I guess I shouldn't complain about the loss of snap.  This is a very good all around ball, it is usually the first one out of my bag but I was just a little curious as to where the length and snap went.  Oh well, it is a great ball on medium and shorter patterns.
