Lucky-
When I mentioned 20-25 degrees, that's only when I'm trying to play straighter.  My normal rotation is probably closer to 60 degrees, which is more than enough to get inside with.

I'm glad you mentioned the Scream and Shout.  I briefly looked at each one, but quickly forgot about them for some reason.  After looking at it again, I think either one would be better than the Wrecker for what I'm looking for.  I really wish I had kept more of the Planet balls around.  I still have the Mercury, but the Pluto was great, and the Mars would be perfect for what I need now.  I bought my father a Shatter last year and even though our games are night and day, I think that it would be a little bit stronger than what I'm looking for.  You really have me leaning towards the Scream or Shout now.  I just have to be careful because Utah balls are almost always stronger than advertised, especially their entry level equipment.  My Fringe is the perfect example of that.  It's about twice as strong as I anticipated on the back end.

BIG difference in core strength.  Shout and Scream .025 Fringe .045.

I drill the low diffs above strongish as I like a small swing often.  Like 4 1/4 pin to pap the weak stuff above!  I am playing 10 at the arrows to 5 on at the break point ( the house sort of crown) with my Sonic X which is getting duller.  Finished agame with 8 in a row last week with it in league.  It hits hard from that wider dryer spot. Straight up 10 it does not hit unless I am FAST real fast for me!  Shout a touch stronger.

REgards,

PS take a look at videos on youtube, you'll see the big difference between a fringe and a shout.  Or a shatter and a scream.  I think Britton maybe shows a Dark Star(less than a Shatter with the older weaker Photon core(great core)) versus the Shout.  On his Video ball reviews posts on his site and youtube.  Hope this helps.

I just bought one today. I threw my friends shout and I loved it! I like the overall strength but it was a little weak on a fresh medium oil condition. So I bought a wrecker which also is drilled pin down, cg kicked out a little, and a p4 weight hole. Should be a perfect one two punch with my weaker drilled frantic.

My pin above bridge (5.5" pin to pap) wrecker, was a bit too over/under for me on the fresh.  I took the polish off with 2000 and then 4000 abralon and threw it again today.  The shot was a little drier than league, but was pretty similar.  The ball worked great and the continuation threw the pins is amazing.  I definitely would like to drill up another with a pin down layout that would probably get more use at this house, but this pin up ball was a reaction I was needing to replace in my bag.

Bill or anyone else, do you know how the Wrecker compares to a Frantic? The Frantic has a little higher diff and seems to be a backend monster for people I know who have it, but I'm hearing more control characteristics out of the Wrecker.

I dont have the frantic, but i have the crossroad, hyroad, and wrecker...

What im finding works well is the second the lanes seems to be transitioning from what the crossroad works best on (for me its always games 2 or 3 of league on a ths) i switch to the wrecker...and it works well! I also am using it on what i would consider an oops night with the lane machine...this ball just floats through the heads and literally doesnt do anything until the end of the pattern.

Oh yeah mine has backend but its what u expect from a hybrid...this ball should be a step down from the frantic just like the frantic is to the crossroad.  If anything a frantic is the hybrid of the crossroad and wrecker!

Crossroad = strong cover/strong core (not saying high end but it used to be!)

Frantic = strong cover (same cover)/weaker core

Wrecker = weaker cover/weaker core

I can line up and play up the boards and now that i can trust it, i can wheel it too! Haha

Great ball for the price..gets alot of looks..and ppl tel me im bullsh!tting them when its a low end ball!  One dude thought it was the replacement for the defiant...cuz it was super clean and it was like a strike fest.  Im sure im going to see this ball all over my county.  I wanna pick up a shatter now! Aaaaaah!

No thanks.  I prefer to get a great ball at very reasonable prices.  I stay away from high-end stuff and stick to the lower end.  I think a solid in the HP2 or HP3 line is all I would need for slicker conditions.  From what I've heard about the Disturbed, it is a hook monster already.  I'll probably stick to the HP2 line though.  That core just seems to work for me.  Maybe it's because there is never really enough oil on the house shots I bowl on to warrant the HP4 lines.

I looked at the Wrecker and bought a Shatter for $79 free shipping cause I loved the Dark Star and the specs are very close to it! The Rising Star being a hybrid was stronger than the Dark Star, but I could use the Dark Star for all three games! I like a pin down for the smoothness and control more than the stronger move at the breakpoint that a pin up gives me! I guess the big difference is one being a pearl reactive and one being a hybrid, both with the neutron core!

On a side note: I was also looking at the Scream and Shout and have seen several people use then and love the reaction!! I'm leaning more for the Shout cause of the solid coverstock and the lower diff. I'm looking for when the lanes blow out!!

For those that have a Wrecker and a Rising Star --what are the differences. From what I have read the Wrecker will go longer than the R/S. I like the way the R/S has a nice smooth roll that picks up in the midlane, but has a nice strong arch twords and through the pindeck. The Wrecker I believe has more flip at the back end? let me know, thanks.
