My video for the Wreck-It. This ball just hooks way more than it's supposed to, it feels more like it should be in the HP3 line. Thanks for watching!

It this going to have the legs(sales volume) of the Wrecker in your opinion?

I think it might be one of the best balls this year. If you need a versatile ball in the medium-light category I don't think you could go wrong with it.

BJI ball reviews just gave it a 59 in overall hook. I was flabbergasted to say the least. I expected a sanded Wrecker to have a rating of maybe 50-52, more or less. (Yes, I know the Wreck-it is not a Wrecker; but they are close).
I think we'll have to wait to see what more people report on this apparently very unusual ball.
FYI for BJI reviewed balls, the standard for the biggest hooking balls used to be a 60 in overall hook. Only recently has that benchmark been exceeded. For the Wreck-It to have a 59 is totally unexpected.

Luke,
I thought you converted to left handed? Or was I mistaken or have you recuperated??

Yeah I seen that also, I'm assuming that was a typo. I'm sure it's strong but that was a little far fetched where they placed it on the chart.

Is curious to see if Wreck it will have messengers.
-
I have a friend who recently picked up a Wreck-it and he found that it reacted similarly to the Hy-wire but had a little more pop in the backend. A smooth yet strong reacting ball.
Anyway I'm curious to hear if anyone named Ralph has picked up and reviewed the new Wreck-it...lol

Not as much as a tzone!

Both T Zones and the Wreck-It both personally contain messengers.
-
It wouldn't surprise me at all if some reviews gave the Wreck-It high hook ratings. All of the Wreckers I've seen in my area move a ton from medium to high volume conditions. Now a 59 from BJI does sound like a typo, but I don't think it would be too far off either. The new coverstock should be stronger than the original.

It's the same cover that's on the hustle s.a.y. It can't be that strong.

I'm sure it's strong for the price but it seems like people are comparing it to balls in the HP4 line. If that's the case why would people spend $170 on a ball when they can just spend $95 and get a similar reaction.

[/quote] Well in that regard, you're correct. But some people can get reactions that rival the HP3 for sure.

I'm actually bowling with both. Bowling lefthanded on anything sport is an absolutely horrific idea, so I'm trying to rehab my right hand enough to where I can bowl tournaments and sport tournaments/leagues righty, but if it's on a house shot, I'll be able to bowl lefty. I'm still a house baby lefty, a very very soft 215.

Not entirely sure 59 is a typo. This ball just absolutely hooks, that's why I say it's without a doubt the most aggressive ball on the market at its price point, and by SEVERAL boards. It outhooks my Rocket Ship by a handful, and not just out-backends it, the boards it covers are significant. I usually refrain from saying that a ball is a "must have," but I don't see how you can ignore this one. Not entirely sure how they're justifying selling a ball that hooks this much at that price point, but it's good news for consumers.

Fascinating!
I wonder if it was a mistake or consumer test to see who would recognize it as such. I mean, a $90 ball providing the hook and oil handling that normally comes from $140 ball is quite a bargain, IF you can use or need that much hook.

Glad to hear your right hand is good and strong enough to handle that.
Not too many people can bowl/score that well with both hands. Congratulations!!

how does this ball compare to the critical? thx

Lol watch the video and you'll find out, I actually compared it to the Critical. Critical outhooks it by MAYBE a board or two and is a bit smoother overall.

Do you like the wreck it pin up or down more
-
BTM has the Wreck It earlier, more overall, and more off the spot than the Critical. All these reports of it being so strong really make me wonder if that was a typo or not. Hope someone can keep us updated here.

You don't believe ITZPS's report and video???
-
With the Wreck-It looking so strong I wonder what the Hustle S/A/Y is like since those two balls share the Psyched coverstock. Haven't read much about that or the Hustle P/R/O.

Of course I do. But it's still hard to believe BJI would put the Wreck it that high.

Additionally, BTM gave it a 55 and BTM does not give out as high hook numbers as BJI does. For instance the No Rules got a 57 from BTM; I think BJI gave it a 62. So BTM also agrees it a pretty big hooking ball.
-
The Wreck It is A LOT of ball in that price point!! IMO this has to be the best ball in that price point! Not sure what the other companies have in this price, but this ball is quite impressive.
-
On a regular lower volume house shot, they're so similar it's hard to tell them apart. On a higher volume shot, I could see that. I was playing the Wreck-It 20 at the arrows to 10 at the breakpoint and it was pulling up flush on Tokyo today if that tells anyone anything.

Would you consider the Wreck-It to have a smooth(ish) motion overall? I know the Wrecker was anything but from those that I've seen but the stronger coverstock on the new version seems like it's evened out the reaction from the videos online. Or am I way off base?
After a month of ownage/use I figure ITZPS has as much experience with the ball as anybody else and your descriptions are better than those found most anywhere else. Any information would be much appreciated.

I have to admit I seen the BJI rating and also thought it was a typo but their reviewer is a pretty credible source so maybe that is what they are seeing.
I have had mine about a month now and it is starting to grow on me more and more. Right now out of the box, I have it moving slightly more than my Rocket Ship. I was using as a ball down from my Snap Lock when it started to ping tens's.
I have the Hustle P/R/O and it is longer but it also comes factory shined. I balled down from the Wreck It to the P/R/O and had to move about 6 boards right the other night in league. I also need to hit the P/R/O with my 3000 pad to knock the skid/flip Storm factory shine of it.
I do not know if the Wreck It ranks up there with the Sinister or Crux which were balls that BJI gave 58 and 58.5 hook ratings to but it is definitely stronger than the Rocket Ship(in my opinion) which is a 54 or 55 I believe.
