Title: Wrecker losing backend?
Post by: komike on June 19, 2013, 01:51:57 PM
I've heard a couple of bowlers complain that their Wrecker started losing it's backend after 20 games or so. Has this happened to anyone else? I am thinking of getting one but after hearing that after 20 games the ball starts to die out makes me not want to get it.

How well do the people you have talked to maintain their equipment?

I second ImBackInTheGame's question.  I have a Wrecker and it soaks up oil like a sponge.  If you clean the surface and bleed it periodically, you shouldn't have any issues with diminishing back end.  Of course, like anything else, if you don't perform routine maintenance, you will see a reduction in performance.

Im not really concerned being that its a 80 dollar ball....the thing performs!  Mine of course isnt as strong as it was when I first got it...but I have not seen any abnormal changes or diminished performance more than any other ball I have..if anything its a safe bet!

+1.  Sounds like it may need to be baked and have a resurface.

I don't know how well they maintain their equipment but after 20 games I would hope it shouldn't lose it's performance that much. I just started bowling again after an 8 year layoff so I am not familiar with the new coverstocks and how much maintenance they need. I guess I need to do some research on how to maintain equipment when I start building my new arsenal. Thanks for the heads up!

I'll tell you everything you need to know about the ball maintenance and even help out periodocally with oil extraction and resurfaceing with the Storm Surface Factory! ;D
I have not seen or heard of any noticeable loss of performance with any of the Wreakers that have gone out of my shop.
