Title: Wrecker Vs Saturn
Post by: Rileybowler on February 05, 2013, 02:10:49 PM
Can anyone tell me the difference as far as reaction with these 2 balls drilled the same. I know the Saturn was back quite a bit but maybe someone could comment , thanks in advance.

Saturn was a dull solid, gently arcing ball for medium to medium-heavy oil.

Wrecker is a highly polished solid/pearl combo that is decidedly skid/flip (unless you're speed dominant) for medium-light to medium oil.

I'd say they were very complementary balls.

A Shout with a surface change would be close to a Saturn if you're looking for a replacement! The Wrecker would be a lot stronger at the breakpoint! I just got rid of a Saturn and drilled a Shatter! The Shatter is a lot more ball downlane than the Saturn ever thought about being, but the Saturn was all about being smooth and controlled! If the Wrecker is hooking to much the Saturn or Shout would be a good ball to go with! Similar RG number, Saturn a little higher and the Wrecker has a higher Diff.

I just saw a Saturn sell on Ebay!  Buyer and seller above? That smooth and powerful Suregrip 2 coverstock, Love it!

Love that stuff!

Amazing that this comparison  should come up. I have seen the two  balls rolled and was considering them as well! Brought my Saturn out of mothballs this pass tuesday nite and had a very respectable 622 set with it. It rolled smooth as silk on a wet/dry shot that was extremely squirrely if your ball was too shiny. That is why I love Roto Balls!!! Not a big hit, but very efficient and effective.
