your best ever ROTO GRIP ball?

The title speaks for itself. what do you think is the best ROTO ball ( so far ) past / present and why? I have recently started to use Roto so my pick is the CRITICAL THEORY -  very consistant, seems to be my go to ball most of the time. I have 2 Criticals with different layouts. The RISING STAR is just as good as well so I may have to say both are the best.

1) defiant. so versatile on heavy shots

2) the cell . easy to make adjustments with

3) infinite theory. intense amount of power

Roto Grip Rising Star. This is one of the best balls every made. The hybrid cover stock fits my game like a glove!


The hitting power is unbelievable and unreal!! These are the words that describe Roto Grip’s Rising Star when it is in my hand! When I use the Rising Star I get superb length with this ball. The ball is very controllable! It has a constant backend reaction.


I like the ball so much that I have 2 with different layouts. I would like to thank Mike Sinek for laying out one of these gems for me!! I have used both of these balls on THS and various PBA – Sport Patterns! As a matter of fact, this week I cause quite a stir Monday at my PBA league using both of these balls! You would have thought that I had thrown a 300 with all the excitement around my 2nd game!! I did not throw one, but it sure felt like it!!!!

 Wow, can't believe nobody has said the RS-X.. that rock was amazing.. Apocalypse is a close 2nd.. Wish they would re-make these rocks..

I changed my mind.  I initially said Mutant Cell, but I took out my Rising Star and Grenade to go practice this evening after not using both of them quite a while.  Dang, the Rising Star was mean!!!  Old wood lanes, carry down and then the lanes started to get a bit fried, but the RS was so usable and when I tugged it, it held, and if I threw it out, it came roaring back.  I forgot about this piece, so my vote goes to the Rising Star!!!

1 ball that has not been mentioned in this thread is the mutant cell, they were huge here in central il. that being said my fav has to be the horizon solid, had big #s with that rock.
