I've also been thinking about giving this ball a try. I'm really intrested to hear your thoughts on it when you get some time. I see in your profile that we play about the same shot and I was thinking of using this ball to play inside a little more. Good luck with it and looking forward to your comments.

I received my Mutuan Cell last Friday and drilled it on Saturday.  I went with a pin down drilling.  This ball is my heavy oil ball.  it is replacing a Gamebreaker with lots of games on it.  I used the Mutuan Cell for the first time on Wednesday.  This ball needs oil.  If you have oil, it will retain its energy and carry very well.  This ball has a lot of continuation through the pins.  I carried some strikes on balls I didn't through that well and expected a 10 pin.

My Mutant Cell is going to get very, very little use on a house shot.  I bought it specifically for controlled power on fresh, flatter patterns when I need to go up the boards, but create a little area.  Think USBC Open, fresh Scorpion, fresh Shark, etc.  I don't remember the exact MB position (it's between 5" and 6"), but the pin is 4.25" from PAP with roughly a 2.5" pin buffer.  With the box surface, I had to play around 17 at the arrows to 13 at the break point on a fresh house shot.  Any miss right meant instant rollout and either a flat 10 or a washout, and any miss left just hooked a bunch.  Since I won't be seeing long, heavy, flat conditions for at least another month, I took it to 4000 and polished the hell out of it just so I could use it a little and get used to its tendancies.  I was able to use it for about 2/3rds of the first game before it started burning up and hitting flat.  However, whenever I find lots of oil, this ball is a rolly monster.  It just does NOT like to be thrown away from the headpin much because of the drill I've put on it.  That was by my design though -- if I need to give away the headpin more, that's when I throw my original Cell which I drilled for that exact condition.

Watched Derek Williams use one on his way to winning a Southwest Regional in Beaumont TX yesterday. He started going up 6 or 7 and after 10 games had worked his way into 9 out to 5 on the Cameleon Pattern. Ball looked very good and carried very well with Derek shooting 300 in game 7.

i can now tell you after i had my mutant cell polished, and learing how to bowl with this ball, i am now pleased with it. -- heres my take-- this ball does not have a big back end re-action, its definitely not a skid/flip ball,  its more of a strong arc to the pocket, which for my game is perfect. i like to play down and in, and i can with this ball. its alittle tempermental with carry down. but i am still learning a bit with that, but if im not getting the re-action i like, then i may switch to something else that i have thats drilled different. the ball hits very hard. has great continuation through the pindeck. so far a great addition to my arsenal.

The funny part is that this ball is very poppy for a strong Roto Grip ball. If you like strong arc, Roto Grip is the brand for you-

Cell
Rogue Cell
SD73

Pretty much all the Epic line..

All strong and archy.
