Title: Brian Voss WINS 2012 Irish Open Championships
Post by: DaveW on January 22, 2012, 06:45:32 AM
After a rodeo ride, with a late change of lead, and then commanding recovery in the Round Robin finals, Mr Brian Voss clinched his latest tournament victory rolling both Seismic Raging Bull balls.
BV cruised to victory in the end and rolled his 61st perfect 300 game along the way with the Raging Bull Charged!
A massive congratulations go out to him from everyone at Seismic!
As well as BV we also had a 4th, 5th and 9th place finish courtesy of Matt Hann, Billy Nimick (300 with Aftermath Pearl) and Seismic's own Director of Global Sales who you may know from these forums, Ryan Press.

Congrats to Brian Voss, and all of Seismic! Way to go!

A bizarre incident occurred in the outskirts of an American suburb.....It was later revealed that the terrible disaster had been caused by the T-Virus.....a mutagentic toxin created by international enterprise Umbrella Incorporated for use in bio-weapon experiments.
Don't worry the zombies are looking for brains, you're safe.....

Congrats to Brian and to Seismic for a great showing.
FYI it was called the Columbia 300 Irish 2012 Open.
Consistency:
In accord with all the (lack of) respect that bowling seems to get worldwide,a s well as here in the states, I did an internet search on the "2012 Irish Open". The first 10 pages were all about the Golf Irish Open and the Poker Irish Open with a single mention of the Karate Irish Open. After looking through 10 pages of results I gave.
(Yes, I know I might have gotten some result if I added "bowling" or "10 pins".)

No Charlest, it isn't televised at all.
In previous year as an EBT (European Bowling Tour) event it received some local television news coverage, but never a telecast of any kind.
In countries without a pro tour bowling tends to only be televised if it is an international event and a team is representing a country, or in the case of the Weber Cup, a continent.
The Irish is certainly one of the biggest, if not the biggest event in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and previous winners include Dom Barret, Stuart Williams, Tore Torgersen, Tomas Leandersson. It's basically a level of competition along with the rest of the EBT, from which the very best players may try to have a stab at moving up to playing open US event or even going pro.
And yes it was the Columbia 300 Irish Open .. BV was presented with his award by Mike Quitter from Ebonite. =)
