Desperado vs Storm Natural...anyone?
« on: November 16, 2009, 03:53:45 AM »
Has anyone done a direct comparison between the two?  I currently have a Natural and love it, it is my go to ball when the lanes get squirrly and has some dry.  I have been thinking of getting another one but just found out about the Desperado.  I love the idea of an asymm core in a Urethane cover and have been wondering why nobody had done one yet.  So, any comparisons?

My next question would be how to lay it out.  My Natural is a 5x4, pin above ring, no x-hole.  I would want a few more feet in length and a touch stronger mid-lane.  I was thinking the same layout may work.  Thoughts?

I have not thrown the Desperado as of yet, I would imagine just off the cover and core numbers the Desperado is going to be longer and possibly more angular off the spot, due to the core numbers and the pearl cover.

The ball has just began shipping this week so it maybe a week or so before any reviews begin to show up on the forums

Ryan has thrown both balls, so he's better qualified to answer this question, but on paper (as Steve said) the Desp should give you more roll in the mid-lane and movement on the back-end with a standard layout compared with the Natural. This will mean it may be be a couple of boards stronger overall depending on your ball-speed.

Our aim for the Desp was to give you the feel of rolling your top end gear on light and short shots.

For you wpzone, a layout like 5.5x4, pin slightly higher than on your Natural, may give you the reaction you are looking for. But take that with a pinch of salt till Ryan compares the relative cover strengths.

Its hard to compare the two tbh.. They are totally different balls.  The Desperado will give you more roll, and the feeling that you are throwing something more aggressive on heavier oil..

The desperado will be a little stronger overall, but have more shape to the shot.

I have only thrown the Natural with a very weak drilling so I should say that these 2 balls could do with a more detaild comparison.

Cheers
