Title: Photon Torpedo vs. Track Lx16 - input welcome.
Post by: Mercury on March 18, 2015, 12:15:00 PM
I'm currently throwing a Track 811 C/T.  I've had good success with this ball and am looking to replace it.  I am a low rev player throwing it about 14 mph +/-. I play on a THP with Med - Heavy oil.  One of the balls I'm considering is the Track Lx16, which is designed for low rev bowlers.  By Track's description, it sounds like a good fit for me.

My Son throws a Seismic Raging Bull and loves it. I know he has more revs and speed than I do.  One of his Seismic friends told him that was one of his least favorite Seismics and if he liked that, he'd really love the Photon Torpedo.  Now my Son is trying to talk me into the Photon Torpedo.

So what I'd like is your input. First, Do you think the Photon Torpedo is a good ball for me and if so tell me why you think it would be better than the Track Lx16.

Thanks for your input.

I cannot speak to the lx16. But the Photon Torpedo would be a good step down from 811 imo.

Compared to the Raging Bull the Photon Torpedo just a tick later rolling and smooth and less overall than the Raging Bull. First full set OOB with the Torpedo was 754, really didn't make any large adjustments just a few boards farther in.PT hooked all the way through the pins and carried like a dream.

The Lx16 is going to be stronger and just as smooth (Lx16 takes polish and sanding well) then your 811 C/T whichever ball you purchase I would suggest drilling it similar to the 811 C/T so your able to see the difference in reaction.
