Midnight Marathon
« on: May 22, 2008, 03:15:21 AM »
Just wanted to let people out there know that there is a 12 game marathon on Sunday night/ Monday morning at 12:00 a.m. at Pinboys at the Beach - Virginia Beach VA., off of Laskin Road.  The cost to enter is $55, and it is 12 games across 12 pairs of lanes.  There is a high game for $12 as well as numerous brackets available to get into.

From bowling this in the past it is always a challenging shot - PBA named pattern, sport pattern, U.S. Open pattern, etc.  I believe that I saw that it is going to be the shot that is at Nationals this year in Albuquerque.

PM me if you have any other questions, I will be glad to answer any that I can.

Just got a phone call last night about the marathon.  There is a change in the start time - 11:00 p.m. on Sunday night, instead of midnight.  Just an FYI in case any of you out there were planning on going.

Great idea!  I wish I were closer 5 hours is a long drive especially with the gas prices.  A long format on a tougher patter must really get interesting after 8+ games.  Very cheap entry fee.  How many people typically show up and what does 1st place pay?  I'd like to see if I could set something similar up locally in the future.
