Title: Axiom
Post by: BallReviews-scodaddy21 on March 19, 2020, 11:49:43 AM
The Storm Axiom is your next statement bowling ball. This ball introduces the Orbital Core and the NeX (Nano Extreme) coverstock which is an upgrade to the NRG coverstock. The NeX Solid reads the lane early like no other but doesn't give up any backend reaction. The Orbital Core has a low RG making it a great match for the early reading NeX coverstock and help the ball resist the urge to change directions down the lane. This ball matches up best on medium to heavy oiled lanes.

Color: Sky Blue/Navy/Slate

I drilled my AXIOM 50 x 4 3/4 x 30. I threw it some at the box of 3000 but adjusted it to 1500 CTD.

I threw my AXIOM on the PBA50 Billy Hardwick 44 condition and also on our 40' house shot. On the Hardwick which is a 44'/28.4 mil shot, I got surprisingly good and strong reaction compared to my GRAVITY EVOLVE. There was one pair in the center that I had to go to the EVOLVE because the AXIOM would not grab downlane. What I was seeing compared to the EVOLVE was good downlane motion. When I threw it on my house shot, I had to open up my angles quite a bit as it was very strong compared to my ALL ROAD that I normally throw in that center.

I would say the AXIOM is very similar to a PHAZE II with more movement down lane. These 2 should be a good 1-2 punch. I can't wait to drill an AXIOM slightly weaker and smooth it out to use on more medium patterns to take advantage of the good back end motion.

The Axiom is quite a bit stronger than what I thought it was gonna be especially for our house shot. But that is good because it will give me a ball to take to tournaments that are not on a house shot. When I first threw the ball in practice at league I was like wow, that picks up quick and early. I don’t have anything in my back like that. Most of my equipment goes long and pops on the back end. So this ball is definitely going to fill a spot in my tournament arsenal. I decided to bowl a game with it in league the first night of getting it cause I was having trouble carrying and wanted to see what the Axiom would give me. It was in the third game when the lanes start to break down. I definitely had to get it outside, not because it wouldn’t hook inside, but because inside it would over-hook on me inside. But it did look really good and I was able to get the 10 out. I didn’t leave a 10 at all when I was using it.

I used this on the Statue of Liberty one night and my impressions on a sport shot was it looked really good. I was playing around 10 board and the ball was hitting the pocket and carrying for me. I have a tough time on long oil patterns because of my speed and rev rate. I have a hard time getting the 10 to carry leaving quite a bit of weak 10s but this was not the issue with this ball. I am really looking forward to using it on more sport patterns to see what it gives me.

The new Axiom from Storm adds a great early-rolling ball to the Master line. To accompany the low RG Orbital Core, Storm developed a new cover. Their previous nano covers have been fantastic for getting the ball to see the mid-lane. The new NeX (Nano Extreme) Solid Reactive cover takes this too the next level. As stated via the company's website: "NeX Solid was remarkably earlier hooking than NRG on any pattern, or any surface we tested it on. The Orbital Core has a distinctly low RG axis which further complements the midlane read for which NeX was developed."

The Phaze II is in my opinion perhaps the best ball released in the last 10 years. The clean reaction outperforms any solid ball I've thrown. If there is a single criticism, it's that you sometimes have to wait for the pattern to develop when there is more oil on the lane. I can't tell you how many time I wished I was able to go to my Phaze II sooner. The Axiom is the exact solution to this problem.

I first tested the Axiom on a fresh league pattern. The surface in this particular center is a bit higher friction, particularly in the front of the lane. I usually shy away from earlier equipment here. Somewhat fortunately they had just upped the oil in the front of the lane and I ended up having the best ball reaction in the league. Where everyone else was watching their ball skid through the spot they were used to seeing their ball hook, the Axiom was already headed for the pocket. The best surprise of the evening was the fact that I managed to stay in the ball all three games and my scores went up over the night because I didn't lose carry as I moved left.

I decided to throw some games with it after the senior league had bowled the next day to see how it would look on an even drier lane with some carry down. I really liked the ball on this condition when I amped the speed up a bit to stay nearer the friction. The ball would slow down just right coming off the friction and surprisingly enough it even carried a bit better than my Phaze II. It didn't start to get lazy until I moved left of  4th arrow. Even then I could keep it in play if i reduced the angle through the front to keep the ball closer to the pocket. This ball creates a perfect option for seeing the even reaction of the Phaze II went the lane is loaded with oil. It also gives you a seamless transition to get to it as the front of the lane opens. The axiom is an exceptional bench-mark when you are expected longer or slicker oil conditions.

I’m am going to try and give my honest opinion on the new Storm Axiom. This is only after drilling one which was pin down I intend on trying another that is pin up to see the difference.
Pin Down Review:
There was a lot of chatter about how this was going to be one of the earliest if not the earliest balls storm has every produced. With that being said I needed something for my house shot which has very high volume around 8-10 it’s the part of the lanes that’s given me trouble all year, I’ve been forced to go around it by moving left. I tried the axiom on the shot but ball has such a smooth and arching shape it started up so early causing it to over hook. It also forced me left for the fact that I don’t have the ball speed to get the down the pattern another foot. I could move left and find a nice line with although it still wanted to start up to early at times. I do not see this as a ball that will find its way into my league bag that’s for sure. I have seen it work extremely well for high speed / rev rate players on the THS that I bowl with.
I did test it on a sports pattern and found I had many different uses for it. Having a slow motion I could actually use it on long ,medium , and short patterns which is a great asset to have in your tournament bag.

The new ball in Storm's Master line is the Axiom.  With a brand new cover called NeX solid for Nano Extreme.  Earlier rolling version of the NRG coverstock. Also Axiom has a new Orbital core.  I drilled mine 5 x 4 x 1.5 . Wow this ball hooks and corners.
I put a little Step 2 compound on it to use it in league.  This ball is very strong especially for a symmetrical ball.  I had a hard time getting the 9 pin out as the Axiom just keep going.  You will need a little oil up front to use the Axiom but its design is for the medium and longer oil patterns.  The PBA guys loved this ball at the World series in Las Vegas this year.  Great strong rolling but control at the breakpoint bowling ball.
It doesnt give you the squirt at the breakpoint like some other balls, but its not flippy either.  Id say its more down lane reaction than a Super Soniq and maybe a little more than a Phaze 2. Its just a different shape.  Definitely a ball to have in everyone's arsenal.

Storm Axiom
55 x 5 x 25

The Storm Axiom has earned a spot in my bag. I would compare it with a Phaze 2, for me the Axiom feels cleaner and a bit more pop down the lane vs my Phaze 2's.  It feels like more overall ball.  This one seems to be a ball that I like more the more oil shined it gets.  I seem to prefer my P2's duller which makes them more controllable, this ball seems to be the ball I go to from that.   So far, it has not stopped running the 8 pin over regardless of how far left I go.  Typically, the duller controllable balls start to deflect more the further left you go, so far the Axiom has not done that for me.  I would definitely give this one a try!

The Axiom is the newest Master Line ball from Storm.  It has the new NEX coverstock which is Storm's strongest coverstock to date.  I was amazed at not only how strong the Axiom is overall but how well the ball still continues down lane.  For me, it is about 3 boards stronger compared to the Phaze 2 and continues a little better even still.  This ball cant handle a lot of oil while still allowing you to open the lane up if you need to adjust to the inside part of the lane.  I was initially thinking that this ball would be too similar to the Pro-Motion but the Axiom is stronger and can be used for longer periods of time.  I can see the new NEX coverstock being applied to multiple future balls in the Storm lineup because of the Axiom's success.

I really like predictable ball motion and the Orbital Core in this symmetrical solid was designed to not change direction drastically so I knew it would complement my game. The core is wrapped with Nano Extreme Solid technology and is the earliest reading cover to date. Core/Cover paired with the low RG helps this ball blend the pattern and not overreact when responding to friction. I was able to play further left to start, on a fresh house shot, with the slow response cover and the mid-lane is really predictable because of the low RG. Granted I only used this on fresh THS however I know this ball can handle heavy oil and when the lanes start to break down the Phase II would be a great ball down option when transitions began to take place.

I highly recommend this ball.

Storm Axiom

Coverstock: NeX Solid Reactive

Weight Block: Orbital Core

I love when Storm releases a new core and cover combo. With the Axiom, I get to see something totally new. Storm will always have the go-to pieces like the IQ Tour, Hy-Road, and Phaze 2...but nothing is more fun than drilling something I haven't seen before.

If you read into the specs and design place of the Axiom, you can expect a Phaze 2 style reaction, just stronger.

With a stronger cover, I was worried the Axiom would be a little too early for my style. I drilled mine with my favorite layout, 65x4x30. I was pleasantly surprised with the length I could get with the ball. It is obviously stronger than the Phaze 2 but can still get down lane.

The Axiom will be a great house shot ball for a lot of styles. I personally am rev-dominant, so this one will most likely be a tournament or first game league ball for me.

This will be a good fit between my UFO and Phaze 2.

Layout: 65 x 4 1/2 x 35. I hit my Axiom with a 4000 pad due to the moderate amount of oil in the house that I bowl. The Axiom is the perfect ball for fresh oil lane conditions. Even with the surface change, the Axiom has a ton of mid lane traction, but still has great continuation. Out of box, this ball could handle any amount of oil that you can find. With the surface change, it turned into a medium-medium oil beast. I pair this with my Nuclear Cell for a 1-2 combo that is deadly - Mike LeViner.

Storm is always looking to lead the way in cover stocks and the new NeX (Nano Extreme) is going to push the limits even more. Wrapped around the new Orbital core, the NeX Solid cover reads the lane earlier than the NRG covers. I drilled mine with my favorite pin up layout, 5x5x3. I was a little afraid at first because I wasn’t sure how early the ball was going to read the lane but after a few shots, WOW. This ball was easy through the front but when it saw the friction it never quits, it always kept on coming. This ball is quickly becoming one of the favorites in my bag really quick !!!

The Storm Axiom is the newest ball designed for the Master Line.  It has a brand new core called the Orbital core as well as a brand new cover called the NeX Solid.  NeX (Nano Extreme) is Storm’s earliest reading cover to date.  The combination of the two gives this ball a unique motion that will fit a wide variety of styles.  The Axiom reminds me of an earlier rolling Phaze2.  While rolling earlier than the Phaze2, the Axiom still generates an angular motion down lane, allowing you to chase the shot left as needed. The Axiom is not quite as smooth as the ProMotion but not quite as angular as the Phaze2.  This ball is going to get a lot of play on tour, The last show featured 4 Storm/Roto staffers, 3 of which were throwing the Axiom, including Jason Belmonte, who won his 13 Major title with it.

Axiom

RG / Diff: 2.55 / .049

Ball Specs: 3000 grit - solid NeX coverstock / Orbital Core

Layout: 80 x 2 1/2 x 45

What I liked: I liked that you could really identify the change in direction and also, the hitting and “staying” power of the ball all the way through the pin deck. The flare was a little less than I thought it would be, but it even made me happier seeing the ball finish like it did in the backend part of the lane, which on the fresh THS is was great. Once I seen the ball start to carry down lane a little longer, I woud just close my angles down a smige instead of going up with a stronger piece. Great all around THS or tournament benchmark ball that packs a brutal punch through the pins.

Storm Axiom Ball Review by PJ Haggerty

The Storm Axiom is the newest addition to the Master line at Storm.  Featuring new technology with the Orbital Core and NeX solid coverstock, the Axiom is a symmetrical monster that will be used a lot in tournaments and league play.  Also, the Axiom has beautiful shelf appeal with a couple shades of blue and grey.  I’ve been impressed with the Axiom so far and it will continue to go with me to league and tournaments.

I’ve drilled two Axiom’s so far and love it.  The one I’ve used most is mapped out as: 5 x 4.5 and I changed the surface to 3000 with water.  Because the RG is so low (2.47), the Axiom wants to read the lane early.  I’ve had the most success with it when I really want to control the back end of the lane.  It has a very predictable, smooth response time and it compliments the rest of the line very well.  When I’m bowling league or tournaments, the Axiom is normally the first ball out of my bag.

All in all, the Axiom features the new Orbital Core & NeX coverstock from Storm.  Another home run coming out of Utah!

The Storm Axiom….this ball is hands down AWESOME!!!  I was in need of a ball that was longer and cleaner than my Idol but smaller than my Sure Lock.  Enter the Axiom!  I drilled it 50 x 4.5 x 40 which is pin above the bridge.  The OOB finish was too early so I took it up to 3000 wet sanded.  For me, this ball is cleaner than I thought it would be, but man does it turn over once it sees the friction…almost asymmetric-like, fun to throw!!  On the fresh house pattern, I was able to stay in this ball most of the night moving left, tried multiple inside patterns with success.  Couldn’t get deep inside with it, as it would burn up, but that’s not what this ball is for.  I would say it reacts like a bigger Phaze II.

If you’re looking for a bigger piece with big hook, look no further!  Go check out this beauty and bowl up a Storm!!!

It's a new cover and a new core, and the all-new Axiom from Storm does not disappoint! The cover is called Nano Extreme ("NeX") and even with the 3000-grit out-of-box surface I have yet to see it sail past the breakpoint. The all-new Orbital core has a very low RG and very high differential (2.48 RG, 0.050 diff). All of this means that not only do you have a ball that won't sail past the spot, but it's perfectly capable of making it around the corner from some pretty insane angles... while still being good on higher volumes of oil AND working well from straighter angles on the fresh and being super consistent through the pins... but yet also never really feels uncontrollable (and if it is, it's time to put it away). On everything from high-friction wood lanes to a center that's snot-tight with a lot of volume downlane, this ball has been nothing but impressive.

The Axiom is Storm’s newest ball in the Master line, it features the new NeX cover, which stands for nano extreme, and the new Orbital core, which features a high density inner ball to help create and maintain a super low RG.  Throughout their testing, NeX was shown to be earlier and more durable than any previous nano formulations, and while it’ll be a bit before I can get an idea about the longevity, it’s definitely strong.  However, throughout my several comparison videos, the versatility of the Axiom surprised me, because I thought that’s one area it would suffer in due to the strength.  It handles angle decidedly better than any other nano cover I’ve thrown, and the core performs as advertised, creating a motion that’s somewhere between symmetric and asymmetric.  It winds up better and is more consistent and firm at the breakpoint than the majority of stronger symmetrics, but doesn’t have as much torque as most asyms.  This gives it a somewhat unique look on the lanes, it acts a lot like a baby UFO.  It’s not as strong overall, but it shares the same kind of motion.

The Axiom’s coverstock (NeX Solid) is the EARLIEST ROLLING COVER STORM HAS EVER MADE! That’s a huge deal. And it is clear to see that fact when you throw the Axiom. Mine is drilled 70x4.25x60 because I wanted the core and cover to transition similarly. There are no surprises on how this ball rolls. The Axiom reads the lane early with a smooth and predictable shape down lane. My Axiom is an earlier, smoother and stronger Phaze 2.

A lot of people are comparing the Axiom to the Phaze 2 and I think that speaks volumes to how good this ball rolls! The Axiom will be in my bag for a really long time!

Review:
This is a monster symmetrical ball… for sure the strongest symmetrical ball currently from Storm or Roto Grip. A lot of people are calling this the baby UFO. The shape is almost identical with the Axiom playing a couple of boards on the approach to the right. If you own a UFO you will see similar response to friction and identical hitting power. This thing destroys the pins if you find the pocket. This is a great transition ball from a solid asymmetrical piece allowing you to play a similar line without switching to an asymmetrical pearl and changing your entry angle. Overall this ball is very smooth from front to end of lane, hits like a ton of bricks, and loves oil! If you love to move left and create some area this is a must have in your bag!

LANE CONDITION

The AXIOM – what can I say. This and the Phaze III are my hands down favorite pieces right now. The Axiom will not disappoint polished or Dull.

Patterns used for review are HP modified.
Pattern A: 43Ft, 29 Mls, 5:1 ratio

Pattern B: 40Ft, 27 Mls, 3:1 ratio

PLAY
The Axiom is much like a Phaze III but only stronger. I played the following patterns with two Axioms. One Pin Up out of box surface and one Pin down with polished.
Pattern A:
The Axioms very easily read both patterns. The longer pattern played a little better inside for the OB Axiom. However, the polished Axiom was a to move about the lane with easy, get to the point and make the turn.
 Play/Line moves that were used:
Arrows/breakpoint
Axiom OB: 12-5, 17-10, 20-12
Axiom Polished: 12-5, 10-10, 20-12, 10-5
Pattern B:
On this particular pattern the Axiom OB was able to tame down the backend reaction. As the games played on the Axiom began to lose some carry but that was more of area played and slow moves to chase the pattern. However, The Axiom OB was able to get further right as the loss of energy was quicker and back in stayed controllable.
The polished Axiom look like it had been let out of a cage on this. It checks hit the spot cornered and held pocket. The moves left made the ball look better and better but carry stayed in in the 15 to 5 area and slight right. The Axiom didn’t like the move right as much.
Play/Line moves that were used:
Arrows/break point
Axiom OB: 12-5, 17-10, 20-12, 10-5
Axiom Polished: 12-5, 10-10, 20-12, 10-5
LOW DOWN:  The Axiom is a must get ball. It compliments all lines from Storm and Roto Grip. You will be surprised at the way you can make the ball arc or snap when needed. POWER! At its best without having to get the biggest ball

Title: Axiom Ball Review
Post by: NateGarcia on April 04, 2020, 05:59:08 PM
The next remarkable benchmark ball to come out of the Storm Plant; the Axiom. The Axiom is the newest addition to the Storm Line. With the all new Orbital Core and the NeX Solid reactive coverstock, the Axiom makes for another dependable benchmark ball that you can rely on that gives the player ultimate control and predictability out of a bowling ball. The Axiom fits between the Phaze 2 and Idol and for the little bit I was able to throw with it, I don’t see it as early as an Idol but not as responsive downlane as a Phaze 2.

The Axiom can handle more oil better than a Phaze 2. Sometimes, I run into issues where I can’t use the Phaze 2 right off the bat to begin a block because it is too responsive downlane, and then when I go to my Idol, it might be too early and not enough downlane. With this Axiom, that problem goes away. As many of you saw, Belmo used two different Axioms on the World Championship show and came away with the win. That just tells you that this ball can be drilled several different ways and handle many different surface adjustments and it seems to get the job done.
Get your Axiom as soon as possible and always bowl up a storm!

The all-new Axiom from Storm is gonna be a ball that many will be impressed with. With all that is going on in the world or sometimes releases may come out at the same time and some balls get mixed up or forgotten. This ball is one of the bigger bangs for the price balls. This is going to be your benchmark ball. Just what every league and tournament player needs in their bag, a symmetrical solid reactive strong ball that will let you know whats going on with the pattern that you are bowling on. I did not get as much testing as I would have liked to do to COVID-19. At this time I hope we are all doing our part and we will be back on the lanes soon enough. Speaking only from a fresh THS this ball will not over hook and give you a strong arc roll right into the pocket.

Axiom Ball Review
Layout: 70 x 4.5 x 70 my favorite pin below the fingers drilling for flatter conditions
3000 grit box finish
42' house shot with high volume
41' modified house shot on 6 year old lanes with medium/low volume
Continuation and power through the pin deck!
I drilled 3 of these for 3 completely different styles of bowlers with 3 completely different layouts and all 3 were devastating in the pocket. It’s very rare that I get super impressed by how a ball hits the pins, but I am impressed with the Axiom. This ball finished over the 8 pin almost every shot from all 3 bowlers. The NeX cover, although off the top of the chart as the most aggressive Storm Nano cover to date, it felt as if I didn’t have to fight it thru the front part of the lane. No doubt it definitely needs some oil in the heads, but not an excessive amount in order to get this ball down the lane. The really low RG Orbital core spins up very quickly like a figure skater when they bring their arms in really close to their body and maintains that all the way thru the pin deck. We saw almost no deflection from this ball when it hit the pocket. The low rev guy could ride the oil line up the track and had a nice smooth, hard motion on the backend. The medium, stroker style bowler was able to play his regular 10 to 5 baby swing and absolutely crushed the pins. I was able to move left of them, between 15 -20 out to 7-8, and this ball mangled the 1-3. Not sure what took out the 9 pin a few shots, but this ball carried everything. It was always on the smooth side and thus never created any weird angles. You can read the lanes and what the ball is going to do very easily, which makes adjustments a cinch. In my tournament bag it would be Stronger than my Pro Motion/Phaze II (first balls out of the bag), but less than my UFO. It fits very nicely in that Medium/Strong Symmetrical spot covering a ton of lane conditions for various styles of bowlers. For leagues, it would be a first ball out of the bag covering everything but the flood or the desert. Hope this helps. #StormNation

Review:
The New Storm Axiom may be my favorite big hooking Storm ball so far!  The Axiom is a great core to cover match and even though it reads the lane rather quickly it never quits. Normally I like Asymmetric balls for hook on heavy patterns but the Axiom exceeded my expectations on the wetter lanes. I feel that when using a Symmetric ball like the Axiom, you don’t have to move as much or as quickly as when rolling an Asymmetric. The Axiom is very strong but predictable.  The Axiom hits and carries great and can be used from different angles with great success.  The Axiom also polishes well but still provides a lot of hook potential. The color of this ball is very nice and polish makes it look even better while giving it a bit more length and back end. The Blueberry Muffin Scent is also a fan favorite of my aroma customers. I have been able to use this Strong ball longer than most before I ball down which is good because I do not want to put it down!

Summary:
The Axiom is very strong and handles wet lanes easily.
The hit and carry is fantastic.
My customers like the color and the smell!
The Axiom will be very popular at our shops.

I was very impressed withI was very impressed with the Axiom from the first shot I threw with it. It has the Orbital Core wrapped in the NeX cover stock, which is Storm’s strongest cover to date. I am a big fan of the Idol and Phaze 2, and this ball compliments those two very well. I recently used the Axiom in two tournaments, and it was my first ball out of my bag when my asymmetric balls were burning up to soon. The Axiom gives you a strong continuous roll in the mid lane while never stopping down lane. Once the Axiom started hooking too early, I switched to the Idol and it was the perfect step down. The Axiom has earned a permanent spot in my bag. The layout I used is 50X5X25.

The Storm Axiom is a brand new solid symmetrical from Storm.  The Axiom HOOKS and CONTINUES like no other ball I’ve ever seen.  It revs up like an asymmetrical but it continues like a HyRoad.  It gets back from everywhere.  I LOVE the Phaze 2 and the Axiom might be better!

Axiom wow .. The New symmetrical solid from Storm featuring the Nex coverstock. This ball is a beast for a symmetrical it really digs in on the mid lane and has a strong down lane reaction. I have used this ball in league and loved it. Stayed with it all night moving slightly left. Ball is very smooth and predictable for me.

Storm Axiom
Cover: NeX Solid
Core: Orbital
Layout: 5 x 30

When a ball is said to be the earliest reading cover to date, I naturally don’t expect much downlane motion. I don’t know how they did it, but that is not the case with the Axiom. Where the Phaze II might skid a bit too much or go a bit too long for a pattern before picking up, I think the Axiom is the logical bump up. It rivals some of my higher end asymmetrical balls in the line in overall hook, but provides a shape more characteristic of symmetrical balls. For me personally, I have had more success on sport patterns with the Axiom since most of the house patterns I bowl on lack enough oil in the fronts, causing the Axiom to pick up too quick.

Layout: Pin 4 “ and 2” pin buffer
Rev Rate: 325 rpm
Testing information: 41 foot THS (medium to light volume)
Bowling Center: Fulton Bowling Center

The Storm Axiom utilizes the NeX Solid coverstock and Orbital Core.  I am not sure how Storm keeps putting out these amazing bowling balls but they are good at it😊.  I didn’t get to practice with the Storm Axiom after drilling it.  I took it straight to a tournament and threw it into the fire.  The Storm Axiom didn’t disappoint.  It was strong but predictable.  Since then, I have had a chance to try different surfaces.  The Axiom was good with a shine on it but I like it best with about 2000-3000 on it.  The NeX coverstock results in a earlier roll than the Phaze II and strong backend motion.  The difference isn’t much but noticeable when you throw them together.  The Axiom is going to be another Storm benchmark ball along with the Phaze II, IQ Tour, and HyRoad.  This is going to be a good one folks! #Stormnation

The not-so-new Storm Axiom. Thanks to COVID-19, I was just barely able to drill and throw it. I put a 5x4.5 layout on the new Orbital core. Couple of nice surprises here. The new N-E-X surface… is the earliest reading surface storm has. And, while I will say the out of box surface is probably too strong for a house shot, don’t be fooled by early read. This ball reads early and then suddenly finds another gear in the hook phase and goes more sideways than I expected.

My Omega Crux… with the same layout… while certainly creating more flare reads the lane in a similar fashion. I think these two will complement each other nicely.

This ball is a great “replacement” for the Phaze II or a ProMotion. If you liked either of those balls, you’ll like the Axiom as well.

I'm writing this review late, It's been a tough road for all us during this pandemic and it's a total bummer that it interfered with the Axiom. This ball is special...NEX and the Orbital are perfect together. If you want a big, strong, smooth bowling ball reaction...the Axiom is your ball. I hope it's not lost in the shuffle. #stormnation

The new Axiom from Storm Bowling features a new and improved Nano cover with the NeX (Nano Extreme). This is wrapped around the low RG Orbital core. The results are Storm’s earliest hooking ball to date. The Axiom definitely lives up to this bill! This ball is incredibly strong front to back on any lane condition. I was most impressed with how continuous the ball was through the pins even with the lower RG and early-hooking cover. At box finish, the Axiom is 3-4 boards stronger than a Phaze 2 and smoother overall. The Axiom will be a great piece for early in league nights when the back ends are flying. This ball will also be a great piece for any sport pattern. Ideally, it will see its’ most use for me on medium to heavier patterns. It never seems to change direction quickly, making it one of the most predictable motions I have seen.

If you loved the Phaze 2 like almost everyone does the Axiom is definitely for you. A stronger overall ball that starts sooner and handles more oil for me then the Phaze 2 but still produces an unbelievable backend motion!!

Storm has created another must have ball with the Axiom. This ball will work for almost any player on heavy house shots, and flat sport shots. The Axiom is incredibly versatile all around. I could get left on my THC and get it back with an enormous amount of carry. When I've used it on shorter sport patterns I was able to get right and stay up the back to open up the lane. Layout we went with was 5x3.5x2. Dont miss out on this incredible ball.

The Axiom is the latest release in the master line of bowling balls from Storm, the bowlers company. NeX solid (Nano Extreme) is the new cover on the Axiom, and is wrapped around a new core called Orbital core. The color scheme of the Axiom is sky blue, navy, and slate, and has a blueberry muffin scent. The numbers in a 15lb undrilled Axiom are 2.48 rg, and 0.050 differential.

The NeX solid cover on the Axiom is the strongest cover to date to be put on a domestic release Storm bowling ball. This cover really creates a lot of traction. I drilled two different Axioms, the first with a 4” pin, and 2.5” pin buffer, the second with a 4.5” pin, and a 4” pin buffer. Comparing both balls at the box finish, the 4.5 X 4 Axiom reacts later on the lane, and the shape off the spot is more rounded and continuous. The 4 X 2.5 Axiom stands up earlier on the lane, and has a more defined shape that rolls forward sooner and heavier towards the pocket. The 4.5 X 4 is better when the backends are really fresh and there is plenty of oil in the heads to get the ball to the spot. The 4 X 2.5 is better when the lane is a little lazier off the spot, but still has that same heavier oil in the front of the lane. I have used the 4.5 X 4 Axiom on patterns with a little less built in hold, and seem to like the 4 X 2.5 when the lane is a little easier because of higher left to right ratios built into the pattern. Using a 4” pin buffer, for me, creates a little tighter flare pattern on the ball, thus keeping the differential of the drilled ball down a bit. This helps me take advantage of the strong cover without too much flare, resulting in me having to give away the pocket too much. The 4 X 2.5 has more distance between the flare rings, and finds it’s forward roll point sooner, therefore works better for me if there is more oil downlane. I do not use inserts or a changeable thumb, so my final drill isn’t manipulating the core as much as what other bowlers may be able to do. I’m fine with that, as I like to use the drilled ball as close to what the manufacturer intended when they designed it. Comparing the overall shape of the Axiom to an Idol, the Axiom seems to slow down sooner and have more board coverage. It’s very similar in shape, just a little more of it; Idol’s big brother, if you will. I also like how the Axiom complements my Omega Crux, as a 1-2 punch. The Axiom is better on the fresh, and then transition sees the Omega at its best.

I like the Axiom. This is a ball that will help speed dominate players get the ball to slow down sooner and create roll to the pins, and with the right layout, can help heavy handed players control wet-dry conditions. The Axiom is a great ball when you use it how it is intended to be used. Dry lanes wouldn’t be the first choice to use an Axiom on. There are plenty of other balls for that kind of condition. Thank you for taking the time to read my review of Storm’s master line release called Axiom. Now go bowl up a Storm!!

This ball is really strong. This symmetrical piece is at the highest end of my bag. it picks up early for me but continues to hook and not roll out. if you are looking for a strong piece for heavy oil this is what you need.

The Axiom, with the all new NeX Coverstock and low rG Orbital Core, is definitely the ultimate definition of "hook in a box". I drilled mine with a smaller pin distance to keep the ball from over-hooking on flat patterns since the cover/core combo want to get the ball started up so early. This has allowed me more miss room on patterns that usually don't give any breaks when you fail to execute.

So far I have really liked what the ball gives me as the patterns become more difficult and I am forced to keep my target more in front of me. This is going to be a great addition to my tournament bag for quite a while.

Hello everyone im here to do a ball review on the storm axiom.Storm is using nano extreme cover stock, rg is 2.48,diff 0.050 and another great smelling bowling ball blueberry muffing yum lol great colour choice as well. When I knew storm was coming out with this ball I was excited cause I knew that it would complement my promotion that I absolutely love. The axiom gives me alot more read in the front and alot of midlane and just as smooth as the promotion,a ball ill have in my bag everywhere I go for sure.I left the ball 3000 ab out the box did not change it at all, I can start with it on alot more volume patterns, then I can with the promotion.I did find it to shine up little faster then my other solids but normal for a ball like this.Ive had great success with the promotion now time to have great success with the axiom.

Unfortunately, COVID has not allowed me to have as much time on the lanes with this ball as I would have liked before writing a review, that being said… Smooth and predictable. When it comes to bowling these are my two favorite words and that is what you get with the new Axiom from Storm Bowling. I would put it as a step up from my Phaze II. Most likely the first ball out of my bag as it allows me to read the lane so well. It really digs in when going through the mid-lane and I believe the more lane shine this ball acquires the more I will like it. Similar to my Pro-Motion which is one of my favorite balls in my bag and loves lane shine. I think the Axiom with create a nice transfer from the Omega Crux on heavy oil patterns.

I strongly believe the Axiom solid is the best new release in the last few years (if you don’t have one... go get one!) and seeing the Axiom Pearl go down the lane it’s pretty clear that this one is really special too. The pearl has a lot of the same great characteristics as the solid. I am most impressed that even with the pearl cover, the Axiom Pearl still kind of has that strong, grippy, slower response shape.
Mine is drilled with the pin in the ring finger which is about 4.5 from my PAP. The best comparison I can make is it reminds me a lot of the Marvel Pearl. And there aren’t many pearl balls in Storm’s history that have been more beloved than that!

The first word that comes to mind is, WOW. I’ll admit I am kind of bias because symmetrical pearls are my jam but wow, just wow. The motion this Orbital Core creates is simply amazing. I love the original Axiom and I am a huge fan of pearls so this is a slam dunk for me. Superbly clean through the fronts and never gives up on the back. The 8 pin doesn’t stand a chance. The only thing I can compare it to was the Roto Grip Hyper Cell Fused, floats so cleanly down lane then BAM. I have a strong feeling we will be seeing a lot of this ball in the upcoming 2021 season.
