Storm Electrify Hybrid
Storm created the Electrify line of bowling balls to offer value performance along with control in motion. This line of balls works well for beginners to pros. The Electrify bowling balls feature the Circuit Core which uses a lower RG and medium differential to offer accuracy. The Hybrid version of this ball utilizes the Reactor Hybrid coverstock which produces mid-lane traction and is great for bowlers looking for more control with a smooth backend reaction on medium to light oil.

My Electrify Hybrid is drilled with my normal symmetric layout which is 7/8 pin off center line and CG 2 inch from center line. With this ball having the hybrid cover its earlier than the pearl version, but with the core numbers being 2.51 rg and .30 cg (15lbs) it has some more backend, but eariler than a Surge or Electrify Pearl. The ball works great for me because I like to stand far left and throw up the gutter, but allows me to also move in slighty without giving away the pocket with an earlier motion. Definetly not the first ball out of the bag, but will be good for dry lanes of shorter patterns where the break point is outside.

Introducing Storm’s new low end hybrid, the Electrify Hybrid. The Electrify Hybrid has the new Circuit Core wrapped with the Reactor Hybrid Coverstock. With a RG of 2.51 and a differential of .030, this ball is a great piece for when you need a ball that is very clean and angular downlane. When you find your lower end balls like the hyroad being too early, this ball is a great step down because its still going to give you the length you see from the hyroad but it’ll be smoother and not as violent in the backend. The Electrify Hybrid and Electrify Pearl are an awesome 1-2 punch so make sure you get both in your arsenal!
This ball is best used for very dry lane conditions or older surfaces. This ball strikes a ton and is a steal for the price point that it is at! Get yours at your local Storm VIP Pro Shop!

The new Storm Electrify is the newest "Hot" line release and was designed to be a bit of a power upgrade from the Match and Match Up lines. The Hybrid version is a clean but smooth rolling ball that gives you plenty of hook for your money!
The Circuit core is a lower RG offering that helps the ball get into a roll and maintain a great controllable reaction. The Stinger 2.0 that was featured in the Match Ups had an RG of 2.57 in 15. The Circuit is a noticeable lower 2.51. You see the difference right away on the lane as the Electrify gets rolling earlier.
The polished finish on the reactor cover helps the ball easily clear the front and the combination of the two makes this ball a fantastic benchmark reaction at an entry level price point.
I had a chance to test the Electrify Hybrid where I most hoped to use it, on a broken down lane condition. I was pretty surprised at how quickly it picked its roll up in the friction. I definitely had to be further left with it than I was used to being with the Match Up. It still does a great job of retaining energy so that move left is fine with me. I makes it a pretty seamless move when I'm getting out of the more agressive balls as I can often not have to change much more than the ball.

This ball is absolutely amazing. I could not wait to get it drilled and throw it. This ball is smooth, goes long, and pop on the backend. I am able to play the lanes straighter on the fresh house shot. When using the Electrify Hybrid for my video, I was on a fresh house shot. I was able to start further right with my feet than I am usually able to on the house shot. Even at one point I have to move my feet another board or two to the right and my eyes one right so I could get the ball out the dry. Most night or even in tournaments when the lanes start to transition, I usually move my feet left and ball up to kick the corners because of my low rev rate and ball speed. The Electrify Hybrid is just what I need in my arsenal when I am looking for a ball to ball down to when the lanes start to dry out. This ball is going to round out my arsenal nicely when I need a ball for lighter oil.
Overall, I cannot wait to throw this ball more and use it during league in the fall. I am also looking for ward to using this ball in tournaments. This will definitely be a ball I take with me to tournaments for when the lanes get dry. The Electrify Hybrid is gonna be a great addition to my arsenal.

This is one of those staple balls we look forward coming into our shop for many reasons. The color and fragrance are great (yes this matters to a novice bowler looking to step up from a Tropical Storm or a first ball purchase of something a bit more than “entry levelâ€). This ball also serves many purposes for the traditional league bowler as well as seasoned tournament veteran. The Electrify could be used to fill the gap for a traditional league bowler who either does not have a symmetrical piece of equipment or who wants a less aggressive or snappy reaction to help stay to the right part of the lane on those nights where you may run into some dry conditions. This ball is also a must have for the seasoned tournament veteran who needs a ball to get through the dry conditions late in a block without having to move against the ball return. You can see similarities in the Electrify to that of the Match Up in that it fills the gap between the Tropical and the Thunder lines perfectly and still packs a punch that you need to carry those corners!

For those lighter oil conditions we have 2 options in the Electrify series, Hybrid and Pearl. We see the Reactor cover matched with the new Circuit core which will provide bowlers a go-to option for when the lanes are hooking significantly and cleanliness and control is what’s required.
If you’re looking for something a little bit early go with the Hybrid and the reverse if you’re looking for more angle go with the pearl. This is going to be a great piece in 2 different environments for me. I can see myself using this after a long block of games and a weaker core cover combination is needed and potentially early in blocks in those houses where the fronts hook super early and you need a ball to clear the fronts and still maintain control off the back end.

Storm Electrify Hybrid

I drilled both Electrify balls with the same layout and tried to differentiate them using surface. I had the Electrify a couple of boards stronger out of the box so I decided to add a little texture to this ball using 2000 abralon. Both balls are super clean through the front of the lane with plenty of back end continuation! My expectation is to use both of these balls late in blocks, drier lanes, medium oil patterns, and when I am trying to stay “on top of it†without moving left and opening up my angles. I don’t think this ball will only match up to a specific type of player, I see this ball being incredibly usable for a variety of bowlers and lane conditions.

The new Electrify Series covers a gap that the Match Up Series couldn't quite accomplish. What I love about this ball is the new Circuit Core because it isn't as tall as traditional lower end balls. The RG of 2.51 (#15) is much lower than the 2.57 in the Match Up series which allows the Electrify Hybrid to read the midlane stronger as well as sooner to give better performance on a little more oil than accustomed in the "Hot" line. This ball works exactly as I intended it to. The pin down drilling I put on it allows me to use this ball more on shorter oil or lower volumes of oil without having to make me cover too many boards. This ball is also a great step up from the Pitch Black/Purple when the traditional urethane shape is too slow off the end of the pattern. The colors of this ball really have great shelf appeal as well and a great ball for competitive, new bowlers and league bowlers where the amount of oil is lower.

Storm Electrify Hybrid Ball Review by PJ Haggerty
The newest addition to the Hot line at Storm is the Electrify hybrid. The best minds at Storm created a new Circuit Core in both the Electrify hybrid and Electrify pearl. I think the Electrify is a nice addition to the line that compliments the rest of the line really well. When preparing for league or a tournament, I plan on using the Electrify after my Omega Crux, Idol, or UFO start to get lazy and I still need a quicker response time, the Electrify hybrid is the ball I think of.
Because of COVID-19, I haven’t been able to throw the Electrify a lot. We were able to bowl for a couple weeks and everything shut down again. I’ve drilled one so far and plan on using a lot, but especially when there’s friction. I drilled the Electrify with a 5 x 4 layout which puts the pin above my bridge and a small shift of the CG. I haven’t changed the 1500 surface yet, but will definitely be open to tweaking it if needed after some oil gets in the cover.
From what I’ve seen so far, the Electrify hybrid is a nice addition to the “Hot†line at Storm. It’s going to be perfect when patterns start to blend out and you need to move left while keeping a quick response time. Go drill one!

The Electrify Hybrid along with the Pearl is a rework of the Hot line, replacing the Match Up’s. The Electrify’s go the way of Roto Grip’s Hustles, with a lower RG, lower differential core, much in the vein of the IQ line. The Electrify Hybrid for me is actually a bit weaker and longer down the lane than the Pearl, but has a cleaner and more decisive move on the backend. The Pearl is a rounder shape more like the IQ Emerald, and while the Hybrid isn’t exactly sharp, it’s a very crisp and readable look. The Hybrid for me is better from straighter angles, while the Pearl is better from deeper angles, but these two will get a lot of use from me in situations where I need or want an IQ Tour type look, but the IQ’s are too strong.

The new Electrify Hybrid is a entry into the famous Storm Hot Line. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Match Up series as I could never seem to get them to hit the midlane enough. The Electrify solves this problem, it has a much lower RG and you can see it rev up quickly. The low diff core keeps it online and you don’t have to worry about it over hooking. I’ve been waiting for something in the Hotline closer to the Tropical Heats and this is it! I can see myself using this for the fresh if I want to play direct, and I could see using this when the last get really trashed. Great versatile new piece!

Review:
The new Electrify Hybrid is a nice looking and nice rolling ball. I have been a fan of the Match Up line so I was hoping the new Electrify balls would be a worthy replacement. The balls have taken that spot over well but seem to shape a bit different to me. I feel the Electrify Balls read a bit earlier than the Match Ups but have a more controlled back end motion. Even though the Electrify Hybrid and Pearl have the same finish, cover and core they are completely different balls for me. The Hybrid reads earlier and seems to roll heavier resulting in a 3/ 3 move to my left when using the Hybrid. I was able to carry light hits very well as shown in the video review. The ball revs easily, but saves power for backend and a nice hit. I have used this ball in a few houses now and it was a good choice when the Phase 3 was too much. It seems to be easy to find a line to the pocket with the Electrify Hybrid. I have drilled a few of these for our bowlers and the no thumb bowlers and house shot bunch likes what they see. The Electrify Hybrid is a nice rolling, forgiving ball. This will be a good ball for a tournament arsenal as the lanes break down.
Summary:
The Electrify Hybrid works well on all but very oily conditions.
The color and look of the ball is very nice.
The Electrify Hybrid is forgiving and predictable.

The Electrify Hybrid is a little bit different than the Pearl, which gives you a great 1-2 punch on lighter oil conditions. The hybrid coverstock gives me more mid lane traction than the pearl cover on the Electrify Pearl. Because of the change in cover between the two balls, you will see a slightly earlier more controlled motion out of the Hybrid. Don’t forget that these balls are on the weaker side of the Storm line, so they are great for house shots and later in tournament blocks. I really like the combination of the Circuit Core and Reactor coverstock that they used. The Electrify Hybrid allows me to play further right on my house shot which I like a lot. Most times I have to get very deep on house shots, but the control of this ball allows me to keep my feet right.

I drilled this ball with the intention of filling a gap between my long time tournament favorites the Match Up Pearl and the All Road. I always have a hard time controlling the back end on shorter patterns and this combination has helped tremendously. Cleaner through the fronts just like my Match Up and All Road but the difference for me is the combo of the layout with this cover stock and core. The reactor cover stock and circuit core are showing me great response through the pins in tournament play while not burning up on the corner pins.

When it comes to lower end balls people seem to shy away from them if they are a more serious bowler. These two Storm Electrify’s are the reason why you should not sleep on the lower end balls. I was shocked when I seen these two balls on the lane in action. I compared both of them to each other the Pearl I found myself really comfortable with it right off the hop. On lower volume or burn its going to be a great ball to get through the front part of the lane. The hybrid was a lot more round for me so started up earlier then the Pearl for sure. I started out with the Pearl and had to move about 3 right to get lined up with the hybrid. The Pearl really comes off the spot nice but not to quick where you can’t predict what it’s going to do. Love that the Pearl gets down the lane easy, will help when I get in trouble with some of my more aggressive equipment. The hybrid is going to be good when the lanes get tricky and can use the slow roll to control the pattern.

Hey everyone, this is storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here again with another ball review for the electrify hybrid. As always, I would like to thank storm for providing the equipment I use every time I step out onto the lanes and logo infusion for making sure I always look good no matter what! Today I will be bowling on a moderately beat up 42’ scorpion pattern. This pattern is extremely flat and will highlight the misses I have. The electrify hybrid features the hybrid reactor cover wrapped around the new circuit core. This core boasts an RG of 2.50 and Diff of 0.031 in #16 lbs respectively. It comes out of the box with storms signature 1500 grit polished finish. The Electrify line provides a great bridge between the hyroads and urethane. The weaker cover and medium RG/Diff provides a ball that will be easy through the front part of the lane but not be overly responsive to friction downlane. This line is essential for anyone that bowls in a higher friction setting. I was a big match up hybrid fan, and the electrify hybrid reminds me a lot of that. When compared to the hyroad, the electrify hybrid is a zone longer as well as a couple of boards weaker overall. The latest addition to the Storm's HOT line adds something to the line that was missing, a lower RG light weight core with the proven Reactor Hybrid coverstock. I decided to drill this because I thought it would be not a skid / flip as some of the Match Ups I drilled. Found it to have great length and a strong entry into and thru the pins. Needed something to go a tick longer but not as strong in the backend and not to be to angular into the pocket. The surface with box finish matched well with the older SPL, will change the surface when I get onto newer HPL when I start bowling the Tuesday league to start with and then move to something stronger like the Trend.

Drilled my ELECTRIFY HYBRID up 50 x 4 x 30. Left it box finish to get a feel for it. 4' pin positions for me are usually very early starters for my game which is on the straighter side of tweener.
Right away I noticed the length. Being a weaker cover than Storm's big hitters made it get length without having to throw harder or force it down lane. The ELECTRIFY HYBRID should be good for dead burn or getting outside of a league shot with a defined dry area to the right/left of target.
I put it up side-by-side with it's sister release, the ELECTRIFY PEARL, ASTRO PHYSIX, AND MVP PEARL. The HYBRID to me was slightly longer than the PEARL. ASTRO was a lot more ball and quicker down lane. MVP PEARL was closer but still a lot more ball than both the PEARL and HYBRID ELECTRIFYS.
Drill this one up when you want something for the dead burn or to play right on a really dry league shot.

The Storm Electrify Hybrid tested very similar to the Electrify Pearl. I could not tell much difference, maybe a little sooner breakpoint if anything. The Storm Electrify Hybrid utilizes Reactor Hybrid Reactive coverstock wrapped around the new Circuit Core. The Storm Electrify Hybrid is early and has a stronger down lane motion than the Storm Tropical Surge. I typically struggle with carry percentage with lower end balls. The reason is I need to move in when the lanes break down and loose carry with the weaker balls. I don’t see this happening with the Storm Electrify balls. #Stormnation

Introducing the Electrify Hybrid, the newest release in the Hot line. The Electrify Hybrid uses the new Circuit Core and is wrapped with the Reactor hybrid cover. The layout that I went with was 4.5 x 4.5 x 4, this layout puts the pin in my ring finger and kicks the cg out to the right alittle. The Electrify Hybrid is great when the lanes start transitioning and you need that extra length and help blending the lanes out alittle bit. If you are looking for that can handle medium to medium dry lane conditions then look no further.

The Storm Electrify Pearl and Electrify Hybrid were introduced to take the place of the Match Up series in the Storm Lineup.
The Electrify Pearl skids through the heads with ease saving energy to make a quick turn once is gets to the dry.
The Electrify Hybrid starts up just a couple feet earlier than the pearl and has a stronger, smoother motion.
Either can find a spot in a bowler's house shot league bag or be very useful for your dry tournament conditions.
I would slot the Electrify Pearl as a step stronger than my Hustle RAP and a step down from my HyRoad Pearl.
I think the Electrify Hybrid would be a good fit when my phaze 2 is a little more than needed.

The Electrify Hybrid has been one of my favorites out of all of the new Storm/Roto Grip releases. It has a very controllable arc motion, while still retaining enough down lane motion to have excellent pin carry. It is quite versatile too; it is great for medium-light lane conditions and when the oil on a fresh pattern breaks down, but can also be used on a fresher condition if the box shine is slightly removed. The new core gives me better mid-lane motion than I had with any of the Matches or Match Ups.
In comparison, my Electrify Pearl is actually earlier and smoother than my Hybrid, but that is because my pearl is a pin down layout (35 x 4 1/8" x 65) that I hit with a fresh 3000 pad. It is great for playing straighter angles when the lane is wet/dry. The versatility of these two balls has been very impressive, thus far.

The Electrify Hybrid (EH) has a rg of 2.51 and .030 diff, so by nature the core will want to go long down lane. I drilled this ball pretty strong (4x4) just to assure it didn’t go too long. I also hit the cover with a 2000grit pad to take a little bit of the shine off and slow down the reaction some.
I am happy I drilled the EH 4x4 and hit it with some surface! It rolls perfect for when I need to get away from a stronger symmetrical solid ball like the Phaze 2. I can see a lot of bowlers liking the EH on house shots where you need to get in and throw it out or on some longer patterns when the fronts start to hook.

Storm's Electrify Hybrid brings a level of control and predictability to the entry-level market that is rarely seen. Its polished Reactor Hybrid coverstock provides a fantastic blend of length and control on higher-friction lanes while the new Circuit (2.51 RG, 0.030 differential) symmetrical core ensures that it still has a good punch through the pins. It's a classy look on the ball return and a fantastic entry-level ball both for the newer bowler and as the lower end of a tournament bowler's arsenal. Who could ask for more?

The Electrify hybrid is the latest release in the Hot line of bowling balls from Storm, The Bowlers Company. The all new circuit Core found in the Electrify bolsters an Rg of 2.51 and a dif of .030 in 15lb weights. The color scheme of silver/mulberry/neon red has a familiarity to the Rocket of a few years past. The Electrify hybrid comes from the factory with a 1500 grit polished finish. The Electrify Hybrid uses the tried and true Reactor cover.
I drilled the hybrid Electrify with a 4†pin and 3†pin buffer. This is my baseline go to layout that always seems to give a good predictable ball motion that is neither too weak nor too strong. The hybrid Electrify rolls really well on medium to medium- low volume patterns, with clean to very little carrydown on the backend of the lane. Comparing the Hybrid to a pearl Electrify drilled with a 5†pin and 4.5†pin buffer, the hybrid is about 3 and 2 stronger when throwing it to the dry. When playing straighter through the front of the lane and keeping the ball in the oil, the hybrid seems to be only about one board stronger, but reads the lane a couple feet sooner and rounds off through the pins better, allowing me to get better lateral pin movement with carry on light hits from slightly missed left shots. The hybrid electrify is better suited for medium to medium dry conditions.
I like the Electrify hybrid. This will be a good ball for people who want to see less overall hook than what some of the stronger cored balls can provide, or bowlers who are bowling on medium to medium-low volume patterns. The hybrid will also be good for tournament bowlers who need a late game, towards the end of the block ball that will still have good reaction through the pins with moderate downlane motion. An upgrade to the Match Up line. The hybrid starts a little sooner and handles a little more oil then the Match Ups but still provides an amazing move at the backend. Hard to beat this amount of reaction at this price point and its simply the best looking ball on the shelf!
