Storm Electrify Pearl
Storm created the Electrify line of bowling balls to offer value performance along with control in motion. This line of balls works well for beginners to pros. The Electrify bowling balls feature the Circuit Core which uses a lower RG and medium differential to offer accuracy. The Pearl version of this ball utilizes the Reactor Pearl coverstock which offers control without too much motion at the backend on medium to light oil.

The Storm Electrify was impressive in its first practice session. I went into the practice and video session with a mind set the Electrify was going to be similar to my Tropical Surge. Boy was I ever wrong. First the specifications – Reactor Pearl coverstock wrapped around the new Circuit Core. The bonus is the frosted cake fragrance. After about three warm up shots to get loose and determine where I needed to play on the broken down, light volume house shot, I threw 18 consecutive shots in the pocket. And, it wasn’t because I was splitting boards and posting every shot. I had my typical array of off shots. I didn’t say I struck every time but I controlled the pocket, which is what you want late in the day of a house shot tournament. I walked away impressed. My opinion is the Storm Electrify is early and has a stronger down lane motion than the Storm Tropical Surge, which is what the specifications tell us. I typically struggle with carry percentage with lower end balls. The reason is I need to move in when the lanes break down and loose carry with the weaker balls. I don’t see this happening with the Storm Electrify. #Stormnation

My Electrify Pearl is drilled with my normal symmetric layout which is 7/8 pin off center line and CG 2 inch from center line. With this ball having the same cover as the Tropical Surge I have very good length, but with the core numbers being 2.51 rg and .30 cg (15lbs) it has some more backend and slightly earlier. The ball works great for me because I like to stand far left and throw up the gutter. Definitely not the first ball out of the bag, but will be good for dry lanes of shorter patterns where the break point is outside.

Electrify Pearl
Introducing Storm’s new low end pearl, the Electrify Pearl. The Electrify Pearl has the new Circuit Core wrapped with the Reactor Pearl Coverstock. With a RG of 2.51 and a differential of .030, this ball is a great piece for when you need a ball that is very clean and angular downlane. When you find your lower end balls like the hyroad or hyroad pearl being too much in the midlane or just being very uncontrollable, the electrify pearl will give you the length you’re looking for with a smoother back end motion.

Storm has added a couple new Hot line releases called the Electrify. The Electrify Pearl has great shelf appeal. The Pink, Light Blue, Fuchsia swirl looks great on the wall and going down the lane. The Electrifys feature the new Circuit Core and Storm's benchmark entry level cover: Reactor.
The biggest change from the Match Up line is that the Circuit Core is a lower RG lower diff core. This makes the balls very controllable. The pearl cover really makes this ball something different in terms of getting the ball downlane and then taking advantage of the smooth motion. It reminds me of the Roto Grip Scream with just a bit more hook and hit.
I tested it first on a fresh house shot for league in a house with ample friction. I was amazed at how easy it felt to get the ball downlane and not have it over-react. I had trouble getting some balls to slow down so that my misses tended to be splits and washouts. With focusing on simply rolling the Electrify Pearl to the right it felt like i had incredible hold and just enough get back to really open up the area around the track right away. With small hand position changes I played through the transition well. I didn't really see a need to change balls until the transition (which is considerable on this surface) Forced me inside of 4th arrow.
I see this ball being really helpful on lower volume/medium length oil patterns and in houses with alot of surface friction.

This is one of those staple balls we look forward coming into our shop for many reasons. The color and fragrance are great (yes this matters to a novice bowler looking to step up from a Tropical Storm or a first ball purchase of something a bit more than “entry levelâ€). This ball also serves many purposes for the traditional league bowler as well as seasoned tournament veteran. The Electrify Pearl could be used to fill the gap for a traditional league bowler who either does not have a symmetrical piece of equipment or has not yet experienced a pearl coverstock to help stay to the right part of the lane on those nights where you may run into some dry conditions. This ball is also a must have for the seasoned tournament veteran who needs a ball to get through the dry conditions late in a block without having to move against the ball return. Pairing with the Electrify you will also find success in times that you want to play to the right of everyone else. You can see similarities in the Electrify Pearl to that of the Match Up Pearl in that it fills the gap between the Tropical and the Thunder lines perfectly and still packs a punch that you need to carry those corners!

For those lighter oil conditions we have 2 options in the Electrify series, Hybrid and Pearl. We see the Reactor cover matched with the new Circuit core which will provide bowlers a go-to option for when the lanes are hooking significantly and cleanliness and control is what’s required.
If you’re looking for something a little bit early go with the Hybrid and the reverse if you’re looking for more angle go with the pearl. This is going to be a great piece in 2 different environments for me. I can see myself using this after a long block of games and a weaker core cover combination is needed and potentially early in blocks in those houses where the fronts hook super early and you need a ball to clear the fronts and still maintain control off the back end.

Storm Electrify Pearl

I drilled both Electrify balls with the same layout and tried to differentiate them using surface. I had the Electrify Pearl a couple of boards weaker with more length. Both balls are super clean through the front of the lane with plenty of back end continuation! My expectation is to use this ball late in blocks as the “weakest’’ ball I plan to carry. Right now my HyRoad Pearl is my weakest and sometimes that ball is too round in shape and I need some more “flip†down lane. The Electrify Pearl gives me exactly that! For those of you needing to fill that spot in your bag, you won’t find something prettier or better. Get yours today!

The Electrify Pearl along with the Hybrid brings a rework to the Hot line, replacing the Match Up’s. The Electrify’s go more the way of Roto Grip’s Hustle line, which are lower RG and lower differential, which create a more IQ Tour-like shape and look on the lanes. Using the same Reactor cover formula from the Match Ups, the Electrify Pearl is an IQ Emerald feel for lighter oil. This creates more control and consistency on lighter volume patterns or when regular league patterns break down and transition. The Electrify Pearl for me feels like a more performance lower end ball than a higher performance entry level ball, meaning that while I rarely would have used a Match Up in a competitive situation, I’ll use both Electrify’s with frequency, or in a majority of situations that I want an IQ type reaction in when the IQ’s are too strong.

The new Electrify series from Storm comes with the all new Circuit Core giving it an RG of 2.51 and a differential in 0.030 along with the Reactor Cover that is found on the Tropical Surges. I drilled mine 5 x 5 x 4.5, my first thoughts throwing this ball that it was pretty smooth for something with a pearl cover. This ball defiantly reacts better when there’s friction on the lanes. League bowlers that face drier lanes are going to like this ball a lot !

Storm Electrify Pearl Ball Review by PJ Haggerty
After drilling the Electrify hybrid and really liking the way it rolled, I had a good feeling about the Electrify pearl too. Knowing the RG is 2.51 and the differential is .030, I knew I had to drill this ball relatively strong to make sure it flared enough when I wanted to use it. I drilled it the same way as the Electrify hybrid (5 x 4). This puts the pin above my bridge with a small shift of the CG. I also knocked the shine off with a 3000 pad just to smooth-up the response time a bit.
I’ve seen the Electrify pearl have the most success when the lanes have gone through transition and the pattern has blended out. I can see players with a lower rev-rate using the Electrify pearl when their Omega Crux or UFO is too strong. I can also see the higher rev-rate players use it when we need to create some angle through the front and a quick response time down lane.
If you need a ball for friction and at a great price point, the Electrify pearl should be a candidate you should consider! #StormNation

Was looking for something to compliment my IQ Emerald. Having it drilled pin up 4X3 (non pin buffer drilling), I was getting good length and pop.
With the Electrify, having reactor as the cover, I went 3 1/2X3 with pin in ring finger, trying to create a smoother “step down†ball from the IQ Emerald. That concept kind of failed, but I HAVE created a “little brother†type ball to it instead of a step down.
On our normal house shot (at my “oily†house), these two go hand in hand. The Emerald IQ goes longer and flips, where the Electrify actually starts a little bit sooner, and is a little bit smoother, which was unexpected, given the Emerald and Electrify RG numbers. I line up in almost the exact same place, play the Electrify a bit wider, and it creates a lot more of an arcing reaction then the Emerald IQ does.When one of them isn’t carrying, the other one usually does!
For someone who never had much luck with Storm/Roto stuff, I have now somehow managed to fill a four ball bag with the stuff, and I’m pretty happy about it

The Electrify Series is a new series in the "Hot" Line for Storm replacing the match up balls. The lower RG and slightly higher Differential will give the Electrify pearl more midlane control and more angle downlane then the Match Ups gave. Comparing to the Hybrid, the pearl will be cleaner, longer and more angular in the back part of the lane. While the Hybrid will be more controllable, the Pearl will give good angle for a more medium range ball. The two balls in the line can compliment each other very well if drilled identically or with a small surface change to remove some of the polish. This series is best on medium to lighter oil but will handle more oil than the Tropical Surge Line or Hustle line on the Roto Grip side.

The Electrify Pearl is a great option for those who need something weak and controllable. I have it 4-5 boards less than the Electrify Hybrid, but still with a controlled backend. The Hot line has always offered superior value for the prize and the Electrify Hybrid is no exception. It’s the weaker of the two Electrify’s so it needs some friction, but it’s going to be a great option for those who need a ball to get through some toasty fronts.

Review:
The new Electrify Pearl is a very eye catching ball that smells great! It may have a lot of pink in the color but the guys are buying and like the look. As I stated before I have been a fan of the Match Ups but this Pearl may just be an upgrade on the Match Up Pearl. I think I see a bit more mid lane motion and drive with this Electrify Pearl over the Matchup Pearl. Both balls carry very well. The Electrify Hybrid and Pearl have the same finish, cover and core but they move differently for me. The Hybrid reads earlier and seems to roll heavier so I had to move 3/ 3 to my right and find more friction when using the Pearl. When I found a line the carry was better than expected. The Electrify Pearl saves power for backend with a nice move and hit. I have used this ball at a few dryer houses now and it does not disappoint. It is a great ball going up the boards or down and in unless you have a power game than it is sweet control. I have drilled a few of these for our no thumb bowlers and they are very pleased. The Electrify Pearl is one of the best dry lane balls I have rolled.
Summary:
The Electrify Pearl works great on dry conditions.
The color and smell of the ball are a big draw to shoppers.
The Electrify Pearl has a sweet move at the break point.

From the first time I threw the Electrify Pearl, I liked how this ball went through the pins. For being a weaker ball, it provides great continuation through the pins. This ball is stronger than the Tropical Surge, and will give you more hook overall. I am still using this ball later in tournaments when the lanes break down quite significantly, but I know that I’m not losing any power while doing so. I am comfortable moving left with this ball when the friction to the right is defined. I also really like this ball while bowling on house shots. Typically there is a lot of hook to the right so this ball is good for clearing the fronts and still giving you the backend reaction you need.

Compared to my IQ Tour Emerald, which is, actually drilled the same way I am an arrow further right and about 2 or 3 boards further right at the break point. I like to use this ball at 4k no polish for my slower ball speed. The Electrify pearl is my go to for the 3rd game transition in league or late in our tournament blocks on the burn!

I look at the Electrifies as a perfect compliment to my IQ's, with a higher RG and low DIFF they give me a perfect step down to compliment each other. Compared to my IQ Tour Emerald I see around 4 boards overall less hook but the same shape just another foot or so down lane where we need to see it on the dryer lanes. Going with a short Pin to PAP layout was a great way for me to blend out the wet dry conditions I bowl.

When it comes to lower end balls people seem to shy away from them if they are a more serious bowler. These two Storm Electrify's are the reason why you should not sleep on the lower end balls. I was shocked when I seen these two balls on the lane in action. I compared both of them to each other the Pearl I found myself really comfortable with it right off the hop. On lower volume or burn its going to be a great ball to get through the front part of the lane. The hybrid was a lot more round for me so started up earlier then the Pearl for sure. I started out with the Pearl and had to move about 3 right to get lined up with the hybrid. The Pearl really comes off the spot nice but not to quick where you can't predict what it's going to do. Love that the Pearl gets down the lane easy, will help when I get in trouble with some of my more aggressive equipment. The hybrid is going to be good when the lanes get tricky and can use the slow roll to control the pattern.

I drilled it to be used on shorter patterns and for a center I sub at that has HPL on the heads and great looking wood in the backends. I found that this layout and ball selection was great on Boardwalk and the shorter White pattern. Was able to play up the gutter and in the dirt and the ball did not hook up early like I expected it to with such a short front number. This brought me back some good memories seeing this ball react very similar to one of my old favorites - the Horizon from Roto Grip. If you are looking for that ball that helps you on shorter patterns or on wood lanes this will be a great ball to add to your weekly league bag.

Drilled my ELECTRIFY PEARL up 50 x 4 x 30. Left it box finish to get a feel for it. 4' pin positions for me are usually very early starters for my game which is on the straighter side of tweener.
Right away I noticed the length. Being a weaker cover than Storm's big hitters made it get length without having to throw harder or force it downlane. The ELECTRIFY PEARL should be good for dead burn or getting outside of a league shot with a defined dry area to the right/left of target.
I put it side by with a couple of other balls like the ASTRO PHYSIX & MVP PEARL. ASTRO as figured was a lot more motion downlane. MVP PEARL was also more motion but later downlane then the ASTRO. The ELECTRIFY PEARL looked like a step down when the MVP PEARL is getting up to the pocket too early.

Storm Electrify Pearl
Hey everyone, Storm staff member Brian Hirsch here with another ball review, and this time it’s for the Storm Electrify Pearl. The Electrify Pearl in 15 pounds has an RG of 2.51 and a Diff of 0.030. The first thing that impressed me with this ball and now has heard it many times is how online or clean it is for a ball to be used on higher friction or later in the block. Most “dry lane†balls startup too soon and are still boomy and or uncontrollable down the lane and will not go through the pins the right way. Not what I am seeing with the Electrify Pearl. This ball does hold energy and hits the pins with some power instead of being DOA. This ball is one to keep in the bag if you are bowling league and need something to finish off the night and not give away the pocket to much. Tournament players know we need a ball that will stay on line even later in blocks when we do not have a voodoo roll or lofting the caps in our game. Introducing the Electrify Pearl, the newest release in the Hot line. The Electrify Pearl uses the new Circuit Core and is wrapped with the Reactor pearl cover. The layout that I went with was 4 x 4.5 x 2, this layout puts the pin up and kicked to the right of my ring finger and stacks the cg right under the pin. The Electrify Pearl is great when the lanes start to break down and transition and you need that extra length and recovery down lane. If you are looking for that can handle medium to medium dry lane conditions then look no further.

What a good looking ball! Love the colors and the reaction is perfect if your looking for a ball when the lanes get burned up or just light oil. I drilled min 60 x 3 3/4†x 25 which is my strong drilling. I have a high track with a pap of 5 7/8†x 1†up. Being a higher RG ball and low diff, this ball makes the turn nicely. Even when the front part of the lane is dry, the ball still clears the heads for me and leaves lots of energy for the back. This is similar in RG and Diff as the IQ Emerald except the cover isn’t as strong but gives me a similar shape. I also found if I have to get left I still get the recovery I need. When my Hyroad pearl is still too much as I have to get left, I can move a bit right and throw the Electrify Pearl. Don’t under estimate this ball as it is one for everyone to have in there bag. The Storm Electrify Pearl and Electrify Hybrid were introduced to take the place of the Match Up series in the Storm Lineup.
The Electrify Pearl skids through the heads with ease saving energy to make a quick turn once is gets to the dry.
The Electrify Hybrid starts up just a couple feet earlier than the pearl and has a stronger, smoother motion.
Either can find a spot in a bowler's house shot league bag or be very useful for your dry tournament conditions.
I would slot the Electrify Pearl as a step stronger than my Hustle RAP and a step down from my HyRoad Pearl.
I think the Electrify Hybrid would be a good fit when my phaze 2 is a little more than needed.

I did something a little different with my Electrify Pearl - I went with a stronger pin than I usually use, and drilled it pin down, which I rarely do anymore. I then hit it with a fresh 3000 pad. My intent was to end up with something that was smooth and controllable, but still went through the pins well - and that is exactly what I got. Drilling it pin down makes it much more usable when straighter angles are better utilized, which still retaining plenty of energy for good pin carry. It is perfect for medium oil conditions.
I drilled my Electrify Hybrid pin up, to maintain backend reaction. Due to the ball being hybrid instead of pearl, however, it maintains controllability as well. I can switch to the Hybrid when I need slightly more overall motion.

The Storm Electrify Pearl review by Brian Watson.
I needed a weaker ball for the late shift or late blocks in tournaments. So I drilled a Electrify Pearl pin down with 4 1/2 pin. As I felt like I needed something below the RG hustle series (great balls by the way) and above the Tropical Storms. With the RG being high 2.51 and Differential of .030 this was a perfect fit in the ball reaction that I was looking for. The Electrify Pearl gave me the length that I was looking for but still has enough pop on the back to give me good motion through the pins. Perfect fit in my arsenal.

The Electrify Pearl (EP) has a rg of 2.51 and .030 diff, so by nature the ball wants to go long down lane. For my game I had to drill this ball pretty strong just to assure it didn’t go too long. I also hit the cover with a 4000grit pad to take a little bit of the shine off.
Even with my drilling (4x4) and taking a little of the shine off, the EP was still plenty strong down lane. I didn’t think it would be as fast response as it was which was a pleasant surprise. I can see a lot of bowlers liking the EP on house shots where you need to get in and throw it out.

The new Electrify Pearl looks great on the ball return and rolls even better! It takes the familar Reactor Pearl coverstock that we've seen in many Hot and Tropical line releases and combines that with the new Circuit (2.51 RG, 0.030 differential) symmetrical core. What you get from this is a ball that gets down the lane very easily, but provides a very predictable motion and strong roll through the pins while still being punchy off of frictino. Entry-level price but a ball that's both great for newer bowlers AND has a lot of utility for tournament situations when there's a lot of available friction... can't beat that!

The Electrify pearl is the latest release from Storm in the Hot line of bowling balls. The Hot line from Storm has been a staple of the industry, offering bowlers bowling balls with very good performance, on a budget. The Pearl Electrify comes from the factory with a 1500 grit finish, and uses the all new Circuit Core which has an Rg of 2.51 and diff of 0.030 in 15lb weights. The color combination of sky/amethyst/fuschia is sure to get noticed on the ball return. The pearl Electrify also has a scent of frosted cake.
I drilled the pearl Electrify with a 5†pin and 4.5†pin buffer. I went with this layout to give me plenty of length with a long transition phase of backend motion. When comparing the pearl to my 4 X 3 hybrid version, the pearl has the flare rings much closer together, and goes longer before making its motion into the hook phase. The Pearl Electrify rolls really well when bumping the dry boards of a house shot. With this layout and the 1500 grit factory finish, the Pearl is best suited for medium low to lower volumes of oil. The Electrify pearl will also be good for those long format tournaments that have right handers getting super deep, and I need a ball that will float through their dry heads but still have some recovery at the backend of the lane. The Electrify pearl is a bit more snappy on the backend than the hybrid version. This ball is best when playing the dry boards.
The Electrify pearl is a brightly colored ball that will get used at the right time, and on the right conditions. It won’t be the first ball out of the bag for me because I don’t see true dry lanes all that often, but will be very good when the time is right to use it. Using a medium to stronger layout on the Electrify pearl will give bowlers on a budget a nice looking ball, with good change of direction. The Electrify Pearl is a perfect step down for me from my Hyroad pearl. When the Hyroad is a little to strong on the backend I'm able to go to it and it gives me a little cleaner threw the front with a slightly less reaction on the backend. Perfect step down to handle the burnt up conditions.

The Storm Electrify B-S-Y has a low RG value of 2.51 a low differential of 0.030.
Storm came out with a new Electrify with the colors of Black / Silver / Yellow with the Circuit Core and Reactor Pearl Coverstock.
