The Furious was created as an upgrade to the Street Rod Solid. R2S solid has been on other popular balls such as the T-Road Solid, Special Agent, Rapid Fire Solid and the Attitude Shift. This strong reactive cover has now made it down to a price point that all bowlers can agree with. This is a lot of hook for your $$$.
Some comments on the videos:
The Furious hooks. Alot. This is the strongest ball I have ever thrown at this price point plain and simple.
The 4.5 x 4.5 furious forced me pretty deep on my THS…at 2000 Abralon OOB this ball gives me another look on heavy oil in the storm lineup. Between the Virtual Gravity, Dimension, and now the Furious storm fans now have 3 great options on heavier and longer patterns. With a very strong arcing motion off the back of the pattern, this ball really reminds me of the special agent. When polished, the ball retained these characteristics, but pushed me to the right more.
The 6 x 4.5 Furious was a pleasant surprise. I don’t normally go with a Pin to PAP distance this long on a symmetrical ball. This ball got through the heads really well and absolutely ripped off the back of the pattern.
Just like the special agent and other balls with the R2S cover, this is a very versatile ball. It takes to surface changes nicely. The turbine core is very layout and bowler friendly and can work for all types of bowlers. The furious, along with its pearlized brother, the fast, make a heck of a 1-2 punch.

The SRS has the pin half in and half above my ring finger. The cg is kicked to strong position (halfway between ball track and VAL). The Furious shares the same drill angle, only with the pin below my ring, and a shorter pin to cg (2" pin out compared to a 3.5" pin). Both have the box finish of 2000 abralon, and both have a 3/4 balance hole on val (SRS on PAP, Furious 1" below PAP). Using my favorite release, I was able to get the SRS to the pocket playing 15 to 5 on a fresh house shot. The reaction was very close to my Fast (please see review of the fast compared to the Street Rod Pearl) even with the strong surface prep and drilling. The over all roll was about the same I only needed to move in one board. When rolling the Furious off this line, it hooked early and quit, yielding a seven ten split. Once I used the Furious for a few more frames, and got some oil on the cover, the Furious started to wake up and over hook. Obviously not the right ball to use on this line. After moving in 2 and 1, the Furious started to roll even better. It now had more oil up front, to get it to the breakpoint, and was coming off the spot very aggressively. The SRS would not read the fronts as well, and would dart and dive on me.
I then changed my release to increase the spin through the fronts, and moved another 2 and 1 right. The SRS would skid flip back to the pocket, with inconsistent carry. The Furious just rolled great with 10 back on every shot. now that I was in the most oil in the heads, the Furious was at home. It had a very hard "kick" at the breakpoint, with a great command of the front part of the lane. This is an unbelievable amount of hook at this price point. The Furious will handle more oil than the SRS, and will get through carrydown much easier.
The last thing I would like to mention about both the Fast and the Furious, is that they do not over or under read the fronts the way the reactor cover did on the Street Rods. The Street Rods where great for less thick oil , as well as less volumes of oil, but the Fast and the Furious will have more pattern coverage, and allow you to play in the same zone longer, because they are more predictable through the front part of the lane.

FURIOUS: First let me say, I am big fan of the Grape fragrance. I wish I could just stock pile Furious and Rapid Fire balls in my office area at home so I could have that scent around there. Jokingly saying, the Furious has three features of two of my favorite bowling balls. A similar color scheme to that of the Special Agent, the same fragrance as the Rapid Fire, and the R2S Solid Reactive cover. This ball has to be good right?!?!? Darn Right it is!
LAYOUT: I used a 4 ¼ inch pin to PAP x 3 3/4 inch CG to PAP with no hole. I left the surface as is at 2000 abralon. Very close to the layout on my Special Agent.
REVIEW: Like I described the fresh shot of Colonial Lanes above, there’s a lot of friction up front. So I wanted to test the teeth on the FURIOUS. What I saw was very surprising. The ball cleared the front of the lane very clean. Much cleaner than my Rapid Fire or Special Agent when comparing the same cover stocks. The motion in the middle and back end was very even for me. Where my Special Agent has been wanting to give up on me and hit flat, the Furious charged hard for me through the pin deck. I really had to hit up on the ball to get over reaction out of it, which meant I had to go way outside of how I normally release the ball. So I don’t have to worry about that LOL..

This ball has to be Righteous
The Furious charged hard for me through the pin deck.
Keeping the pin low and moving around in the pin deck
I will be comparing the Furious to the solid Special Agent because it is my best pick
And a Great compliment of both
The Furious color scheme looks like the , while sharing the same cover.
It has a grape scent with .Amethyst/Violet colors,

First thing I noticed was the Fast & Furious are extremely different. The Furious rolled sooner and smoother. Fast was very clean through the heads and very angular on the back part of the lane. I was practicing on fresh house condition and at first i was throwing lots of strikes with both balls. However very quickly i struggled to keep the Fast in the pocket. I had to jump quite a bit right to get the ball back into the pocket. On high volume house patterns the Fast seems to be very sensitive to transition down the lanes. The Furious stayed strong the whole time. I compared the Furious to a similarly drilled Dimension and found the Furious slightly cleaner through the heads and more continuous.
Weekly League
Location: Sunshine Lanes, Springfield, MO
Lane Surface: Synthetic Heads, Wood Backends
Condition: Kegel Challenge Pattern - Route 66
This pattern is very long with a good amount of oil in the middle of the lane. The Furious matched up perfectly. It gave me a strong and continuous roll and i was able to use it all 4 games of our league. I shot 226, 214, 268, 238. I was surprised that i didn't have to switch balls as the condition broke down. I was able to move inside of 20 my last game and the Furious still cleared the heads and retained energy to maintain carry.
After league several of us decided to pot bowl. After a few games i brought out my Fast and was extremely surprised by the reaction i got. The Fast is the cleanest ball through the heads i've ever thrown from Storm. The pair we where on had a lot of breakdown through the heads and a lot of carry down on the back part of the lane. The Fast cleared the heads effortlessly and still responded with plenty of energy on the back. This ball is going to be a great 2nd shift ball!
Overall
The Fast and Furious are two great balls from Storm. I personally liked the Street Rods very much and didn't think these balls would be a huge upgrade, but i was wrong. The Furious could match up against any dull High Performance ball and the Fast is probably the cleanest and most angular ball on the market. I'm already ordering more of each!

Great names to replace the Street Rod Series and the ball reactions is even better.
After receiving these balls from Storm I mulled over the idea of various drillings and even drilling the same as the “ Street Rodsâ€.
Both balls had similar pins and top weights and with the same weight blocks, we drilled them the same and what a great idea.
Drilling with the pins at about a 1:30 position, box finish 15lbs 4oz and top weights of 3.87 and 3.80 respectfully and pins at 3 to 3 ½. No extra holes needed.
Both balls are very easy to control and they read the midlane so easy with a backend strong to the pocket.
I used both on the Cheetah pattern and its awesome to control the lane, just had to watch them coming in behind the headpin which left that pest of a 10 pin.
I have used the Furious on several sport patterns with very good results, but it’s not as aggressive as say the “Virtual Gravityâ€
Storm has given once again the bowler some great equipment in the “ Fast and Furious†that can handle most of today’s lane conditions and it is in the mid price range.

The cover and core shouldn't take away any form of carry as both are proven in previous bowling balls Storm has produced. The ball seems to be little stronger than the Hot Rod series and have a good logo appeal look.
Recommend this and the Fast for the beginning bowlers who can get a great ball for the price

I was unsure of what to expect with the Fast and Furious with these layouts. The Furious is a very aggressive ball through the heads and the Fast is very long. I drilled the Furious to transition pretty quickly and the Fast to be roll early and smooth. I was not disappointed. The Furious, while it did transition, quickly was still smooth and controllable. Compared to a different Furious with a low pin this ball tended to lock up into the hole a little better in carry down. The Fast, drilled to roll in the heads was very aggressive and since it stores so much energy, in had a lot left on the back. This ball will be ideal for generating backend on longer patterns.
Weekly League
Location: Sunshine Lanes, Springfield, MO
Lane Surface: Synthetic Heads, Wood Backends
Condition: Kegel Challenge Pattern - Beaten Path
Threw both balls in practice. The Furious had a slightly better look as i was able to control the hole lane better. The Fast was a little too aggressive on the back for the fresh condition. Started the first two games well, 225, 221. At the end of the 2nd game and beginning of the 3rd game i started leaving corners, so i switched to the Fast and moved deeper. The ball read the midlane great and had plenty left to carry the 10's. Shot 235 and 269.
Overall
The Fast and Furious are two very dynamic balls from Storm. You have the freedom to try many different layouts and you won't be disappointed.

I've had tremendous success with one of the newest storm balls that's came out recently. which happens to be the Storm Furious (solid). My layout on this ball is called the "Rico" layout. If no one understands what this means, its very simple. The pin is in the palm of the ball, CG kicked 2.5 inches with a very small weight hole. This layout has given me great reactions on tougher lane patterns because the Furious just rolls. I am able to make quicker adjustments and still have a great striking percentage. I recently won a tournament this past weekend at Carolier lanes for 10K using my Hy-Road which also happens to be layed out as my furious the rico layout. Storm is doing a great job and I am honered to be on staff with them! Keep up the great work!!!!

Now that I have had some time with this nugget, I'm ready to say ... this is going to be the sleeper of the year!!!
I have used this ball on a house shot and Kegel's Beaten Path (41 ft) on Brunswick's Anvilane and this ball has impressed me. In my bag you can also find a Street Rod solid which was replaced by the Furious and the change in coverstock makes a huge difference in the motion. The Street Rod I kept out of the box and it was never as strong the back 2/3's of the lane. The Furious' upgraded to the cover once found on the legendary Special Agent and what a great choice! The cover is plenty strong to handle those slicker conditions and the "lightbulb" core takes you back to the days of the Lightning.
The marriage of the core and cover makes this a ball usable for a wide range of players. As a high rev player (510+) this ball does not force me to over throw it to get it down the lane, instead it helps to read the mids while not going sideways at the backs. My friend who has about a 300 rev rate gets the same kind of benefits from the ball.
The true strength of this ball is it provides the area needed to gain the confidence to score. I know a lot of people are going to pass on this ball because they'll say, "It's to cheap to be good!" Take a look at this ball, it will surprise you.

I'm not sure exactly the drill layout on it but the pin is above the bridge cg kicked out an 1 with a small weight hole.
weight of the ball is 14.4
I been throwing this ball at Texas Station and there shot is wet/dry with a moderate volume down to 34 feet. This is the ball that on this typical pattern, I have to get inside 3rd and 4th arrow to be able to play it. But once I do, I am untouchable because I strike all day long with this ball. As long as you give this ball a little dry boards to react will come back to the pocket all day long.

Ball is smmoth. Used it on a shot a bit harder than a house shot. 39 feet. I was able to play just right of 10 the ball hooked but was very predictable.
The lanes played on the tighter side but I had plenty of hook to bowl 730.
A lot of ball for not a lot of money.

This ball was drilled on the smoother side. It's pretty straight up, pin in ring finger and CG right in the center of palm. Won't spend much time on drilling as this will vary and coverstock is 75% of the reaction. Was really looking for drilling that will finish off the deck in the correct place, compared to what I was getting before, i.e., too strong a finish off the back of the deck. As usual, I suggest to work with your local pro to find what best works for you.
Bowl on 41ft THS. First impressions was that this ball is an absolute THS killer. I know nowadays every ball sounds great but here's some more detail about this particular ball.
Price 9/10: First, price point is very good. Affordable if it's your first ball or adding to your arsenal.
Core: Symmetric core but a very strong reaction.
Cover 10/10: It has the R2S solid cover which has been used for some time now in various Storm lines, going back to at least the Special Agent. This cover is one of the most versatile on the market. There is a reason why it's on so many Storm balls for the last several years. It plain works and is extremely tweakable. If there was a hall of fame for coverstocks, this one would surely wind up there. Take a look at the Storm lineups from previous years and the numerous appearances speak for themselves. It comes 2000 OOB.
Heavy polish 9/10: I have been using this ball at 2000 with anywhere from extender polish to light polish. I can use this ball right out of the gate and on some occasions, use it all night. That's the case with extender polish. Being a lefty, I can start in the track down 8 to 4 or 5 at the breakpoint. As the oil breaks down, I move in to 13 to 6/7 and then further 16 to 8/9. I used to be a cranker but those days are over. Since I prefer to stay down the boards as long as possible, I have other balls to go to.
Light Polish 8/10: With light polish, this is a strong ball. It's not an "up the boards" ball for someone with my hand. But if you like to swing the ball, you will really like this ball. I love the reaction of this ball with light polish, but you've got to use it in the right part of the lane. With only light polish (or out of the box, for that matter), you better put it away when the lanes dry up.
Reaction 9/10: The great thing about this cover is that it will not be toast after half a game like the "high end" covers. You can move and not lose hit. The shape of the reaction is very nice. It is pretty clean up front. It reads the back part of the midlane and at the breakpoint. We drilled it to read more of the midlane, but like many Storm balls, they like to read the last third of the lane.
It's important to note the shape of the reaction with any equipment you select. The ball has a lot of energy at the pins. Carry is above average. It's not the same carry as a ball like the Cell, but it's much more versatile. This is a controllable ball as it is a little earlier reading than a ball like the Reign, which has a pearlized R2S cover. You rarely worry about recovery on the backend.
Shark 8/10: From my arsenal, it was the only ball I could use on the Shark pattern. I was able to play 25 to 13/14 with awesome carry. I couldn't use the Cell oddly enough as it was too strong to go more "direct" and not enough backend reaction to play deep.
Overall 8.5/10: Versatility and controllability are the keys with this ball. If you want to use it on fresh, you could do so easily. If you want to use it on stronger patters, ditto. I have decided to keep the light polish as this ball is really good in the second game when the front breaks down a little or there is a little bit of push from carrydown. Since it's primary reaction is late midlane and breakpoint, it doesn't care about the softening breakpoint. Plenty of energy storage for transfer to the pins. I have found a very good place in my arsenal for this ball and I think most could. Without polish at 2000 or 4000, strokers will like this ball on THS. With some polish, tweeners and crankers will love this ball.

Got this ball as to liking throwing the Fast One Handed. Drilled the ball to be smooth through the heads, straighten out in the midlane, and have a smooth arcing motion in the backend.
Out of the box, the Furious tended to be a little on the snappy side. It would roll smooth through the heads and midlane but would check up too sharply in the backend. Hit hard and had a consistent roll.
To my style i Heavily Polished the ball, and now the ball was much better then before. Just by watching, the ball was smooth all the way through to the backend and into the pocket. No overly sharp snaps anymore. And it maintained its strong carry to the pocket.
Its a very good benchmark ball to have in your arsenal when the lanes patterns tend to break down inconsistently, or are short and you need something to react smooth and evenly down the lane.
A very versatile ball, and a great ball for the Price.
