I needed a ball that would help me get through the heads and make a big left turn in the backends, because the center that I bowl is a lot drier lately. The oil carries down quick due to the heat in the center, and the heads don't really hold up well.
I first used this ball when the lanes that had fresh head and dragged backends, and it hydroplaned right off of my hand. After about 1 game of people using Ultimate Inferno's, V2 Sanded and Absolute Inferno's on my set, I was able to throw this ball and play in to the dirty track. I was playing 18 - 13 and 8 at the break. I was surprised to see that this ball didn't over hook in the dirt until it hit the backend. This ball carries well, and is forgiving.
I have only played 2 games with this ball and so far this ball is going to be a keeper. I give this ball a 8 out of 10

Here's the specs....14lb 1oz (drilled).....2 7/8in pin.......drilled label shift.....
I got this ball in the 2nd game 4th frame.....1st game was a 166.....2nd game was a 226.....3rd game was 232.....624 series out the box.....
Now what really gets me is we have a medium shot sometimes alittle heavier....I threw this ball down 10 and it went brooklyn (was alittle to slow on this one because of it being the first ball and not wanting to stick) so I'm like wow!!!! Next ball SMASHED the pocket!!!! 10 in the pit....and I was thinking 250 or so out.....of course 226....but anyways LOL......ball is probably the best rolling ball I have (Goliath close second)....and this ball is forgiving to a degree.....
Even though I haven't thrown more than a game and a half with it.....I would give this ball a 9 outta 10.....great ball for the price and will recommend it when in the shop.....Thanks Storm great ball (even smells good

What can I say but WoW this ball is the real deal, hits like a Mack truck and has no over under. Gets through the heads with ease and has a strong arch to the pocket. Great for the sport shot. This one goes in my tournament bag!

I bought this ball to combat a new condition that I'm seeing. I've spent the last 2 years on well maintained synthetics. I'm bowling this Summer in a wood house. The shot is a 40 foot top hat. It sounds easy, but this house really penalizes higher rev players. The track area is really worn, so balls have a tendency to get "stuck" around ten board. The low rev high speed player just plops the ball around ten and it is fed to the pocket. Spinners do well here too as there is plenty of friction to supply free hook. High rev players watch their balls really jump at the breakpoint. I always end up with too much entry angle. I leave too many pocket splits to count with stronger equipment. The only success I'd had was with a sanded Slate blue Gargoyle on a very tight line. The problem was then a huge # of corner pin leaves as the ball really didn't have much at the pins. Enter the Hybrid.
I first tried this in out of box finish. The ball was super clean, super long, and super snappy at the breakpoint. Not the look I was going for. My proshop was kind enough to sand the ball to a matte finish. About 1000 grit. MUCH BETTER. I still get above average length, but I now get a super controllable arc to the pocket. In matte finish, this ball really controls the last half of the lane without giving up hitting power. Very nice look. I just have to make sure I project the ball right, and I am rewarded with a pocket shot(usually a strike).
In my easy synthetic house the ball was still usable on the fresh, but it was much happier as the lanes broke down.
The Hybrid is a nice combination of length and breakpoint control. It gives me a similar look as my beloved Sonic X. The Sonic works great on a lower volume synthetic shot. The Hybrid gives me the same look on this higher friction wood surface. Very mellow cover. It also reminds me of my Barbed Wire but with much better hit.
If you need length through the heads and breakpoint control, you owe it to yourself to try this winner. Remember that matte finish is a viable option if OOB is too long and snappy.

This ball brought me back into Storm. I had a Triple Xtreme, got a V2 Strong/R, don't get me wrong, that V2 is a great ball, but this ball alone won me over for Storm.

Continous motion in the pin deck
HITS, HITS, AND HITS when the ball hits the pocket just right, you hear an explosion. WOW
And of course, the smell

This ball has just a smooth reaction, great roll, ive had it since july, its still a great ball. Most recent conditions with it:
Wood lanes, 3rd game, played board 8 to board 5. Medium oil, 35 feet This ball went about 40 feet, made a great transition from skid to roll and gave me a great arc into the pocket. Nothing wrong with this ball

This is my new dry lane ball.
It gets excellent length and rolls through the breakpoint no sharp turns with this one.It is also very hard hitting as are all of my storm balls.
This ball compliments my Warrior and Power Charge very well.I am able to go from the Warrior to the Charge then to the Hybrid as the heads start to burn up .This gives me an excellentrange of coverage for drier lanes.

First off, thanks to Ernest G, Technical Services Manager from Storm. He helped me out in obtaining the right shape down the lane with a surface adjustment. -WOW!- This is my 2nd Hybrid and maybe 2 times is the charm. I am not sure how useful this layout and surface adjustment would be for a hand-challenged bowler.
The ball flares about 2-3" and does not dead bounce left off the dry. The Hybrid showcases a continuous arc versus the “45x15†reaction power-players seem to make happen. That’s when the ball skids for 45 feet and then covers 15 boards the last 15 feet. Great addition for those times the back ends are clean or the wet/dry that every center has mastered laying out.
Great compliment to my 5x5 Fired Up, my big piece. If you are a power-player and don't have a FU, you are missing a GREAT piece.

Layout: Pin over ring finger, cg out 1.5-2" to the right, no marked MB.
This layout gives me a roughly 5" pin-pap.
Stats: speed 16mph+
Revs, about 300rpm+
PAP, dont know, but i track high.
Release, depending on lanes, 35-45degree or just behind the ball.
I wanted the ball to go long on med-light lanes, and to have a sharper backend motion, so i can move in depper. This ball goes longer than my XXX, and it has a strong arc when it turns. Stronger turn than my XXX, wich is smoother through the whole lane. The only lane condition i dont like to use the Hybrid on is when its light oiled. Its just to strong then.
I like to start with the XXX, play up a track and then take out the Hybrid. I can stand on the same mark, but i still get a completly different reaction.
This ball is sensetive on how you release it. A little slower ball speed and it takes off, to much side on the ball and it reacts to strong. For me this ball works best when i stay behind the ball with my hand and just let it roll off my hand, or when i have less side rotation than usuall.
Ive had my highest 3 seriers and 4 seriers with this ball, 639 and 843. And today i had a 7 in a row, finnishing up with 246. Note: i dont bowl on a THS.
After i bought this ball, 4 other people in my town have bought Hybrids.

hit very hard very happy with this ball. Tweener 15-17 mph Hooks a little less than my Jolt Pearl that as the ACCU cover stock. Same cover stock as my Ace.

The ball is one of my favorites so far on a house shot. I have the surface at 1500 with a hit of polish. If the line is there, I can stand 20, send it our over 10 at the arrows to 2 board, and it bounces back like money.
I used it on the Scorpion pattern with the same surface prep playing a tight outside swing (7 arrows to 3 downlane), but it was too over/under for my tastes. I moved deep inside playing 18 to 10 and then 18 to 8, but it burnt up too much and carry was mediocre. It was bagged after a game.
I had better results on the US Open pattern playing straight up 3, the carry was impressive.
My likes about the ball are the recovery and the roll. It reads well in the midlane and responds strongly to the dry. However, this does make the ball touchy: if there are any over/under conditions... this ball might as well stay in my trunk.
It is most definitely my league shot ball.
