What a ball!*!*! Double thumbs up rating! After I first set my eyes on this ball, I researched it for performance and price. It's easy to control and will do what you want it to but also realize that you have to be able to control yourself. On medium dry to medium oil conditions, it performs like boxing ice ballerina. Rolling smoothly down the midlane with the grace of a ballerinand at the break point delivers a great boxer's hit with a beautiful carrydown. If the lanes become bone-dry the ball will tend to pick up dirt from the lane. Put on a coat of polish and it will help when confronted with bone-dry conditions.

I had one of these drilled up this weekend for my regular league last night. I took it out for a few practice shots and was amazed at how much backend this ball has. During league on med-light oil conditions this ball moves more than my old Fear Factor does! I can put this ball down at 20, swing it out to 7-8 or so and it will come back hard. I'm going to have to get used to the late breakpoint this has. My mind tells me that the ball is skidding through my old breakpoint, so it looks like it's going to miss the pocket, but it always comes back. Best $120 I've ever spent on a ball, period.

Ball is drilled 3-3/8" pin to pap, 3-3/8" cg to pap. Pin is 2" right of ring and up, cg straight down 3" from pin. I throw pretty hard with med revs.

After two weeks with this ball it seems to be settleing in nicely.  I can play a few different lines with this ball and get it to work.  My only complaint so far would be that the ball is somewhat speed sensitive.  If I slow the ball down it will want to break early and will come in high or crossover.  If I keep my speed up the worst that will happen is that it will come in light, and it seems to carry most of the light stuff.

Absolutely love this ball, The only condition I can't throw this ball on is heavy carrydown but then I whip my Icon 300 or V2 Particle.
This ball always finds a way to hook hard down the lane. I can move in and still carry wonderfully. Out of the box it was a little scary leaving 9 pins every couple of shots, after about 30 games this ball has settled down and keeps on striking!!! Excellent ball for the price.

Drill Specs
--------
5" Pin to axis no hole
Pin at 1:00 from grip

The Hot Rod SS is a little stronger than I expected and it can be too sharp off the breakpoint at times, but the hitting power is very good.  This is the weakest ball in my arsenal and it works well until the angles get extreme from really deep.  I have had limited success with Storm products in the past, but I really like this ball when there is enough friction for it to read the lane and tame the backend reaction.

Drilled label leverage. Great length excellent cornering. Can play anywhere to the right of center, when the condition requires. Can cover a lot of boards if needed. Stronger than expected. Excellent ball for me.

MY STATS: rev rate 500+ rpms at 17 mph
          axis tilt: never measured
          axis rotation: med to high
axis point 4 3/4 over and 1/2 down

laid the ball out 4" pin to pap, 4 1/2" inch pin to cg, no weight hole. pin is under my ring finger, cg is close to grip center, no weight hole.

first off i got a great deal on this ball, and i needed something a little stronger for medium stuff as my angle evolution pearl is getting some high mileage, lol. second im not a big fan of assymetric cores on medium volume shots, with my rev rate and axis rotation, its backend city for me. so i went with pin down to try to get the ball to bleed energy before it hits the back of the pattern.
with that in mind, what i got was a really smooth rolling piece. it fits very nicely under an original paradigm i currently have in my arsenal. if the paradigm starts checking up, i can get the hot rod ss to push through that spot.
ive used this ball on numerous shots, and i really havent seen it struggle except on the extreme oil and dry stuff. its really good for me on gaurdian surface when i need length.
overall i think this ball will be great for most styles of bowlers, the strokers will see good length with a nice move on the back. tweeners will see a ball thats a little condition specific, but with coverstock tweaking it might be a piece tweeners can use for a whole three game set. crankers like myself will love the control with power this ball can give you. all in all i would give this ball a 9 outta 10 rating.
