Title: Infinite Physix
Post by: BallReviews-scodaddy21 on July 15, 2022, 05:01:13 PM
Storm is pushing the limits of science and performance with the high-performance Storm Infinite Physix. This bowling ball pairs the ReX Coverstock with the Atomic core to provide the perfect amount of traction and control when bowling on various lane conditions. The Atomic Core works for the bowlers due to its center-heavy shape making it less likely to change directions.

Coverstock: Rex Pearl Reactive
Core: Atomic
Finish: 4000-grit Abralon

Storm Infinite Physix
Layout: 4.75 x 4 x 3  Storm Vector Layout
Rev Rate: 325 rpm
Testing information: 41 foot THS (medium to light volume)
Bowling Center: Fulton Bowling Center
Kegel Machine – Brunswick Anvilane

The Storm Infinite Physix showcases the REX pearl coverstock along with the Atomic core.  Has anybody figured out the mystery scent?  My guess was raspberry plum.  The lower RG Atomic core wants to rev up early and control the front part of the lane.  The REX pearl coverstock is a touch stronger than recent Storm pearl covers so I would say it is a rounded back end motion.  We tested the Infinite Physix along with the Reality Check and saw any similarities between the two. We gave the Reality Check a slight edge in strength between the two. The Infinite Physix is going to be a 4 or 5 in my 6-ball tournament arsenal, depending on if I shine it or not. I am going to polish mine and give it a go later. #Stormnation

The Storm Infinite Physix is a good piece for Heavy Oil patterns. This is more angular than the Proton Physix. When the Proton Physix starts to stop hooking this is a good piece to go to get around the corner with continuous backend motion. All around good piece to have in the bag to start with or when the lanes get over under with Solid pieces.

The new infinite physix features the rex cover that is also on the dark code. I found that the dark code is a lot cleaner than the new infinite physix, where the infinite physix read the middle part of the lane and still had some continuation. This ball would fit perfectly inbetween a proton physix and an astro physix. If you're a fan of the physix line this will be a must have for you, or if you were looking into getting a physix look no further than the infinite physix, the most versatile physix yet!

The Infinite Physix is the newest iteration of the Atomic Core found in all of the previous balls in the Physix line. The REX Pearl coverstock originally featured on the Dark Code gives this ball a huge upgrade. The Infinite Physix is strong, smooth and continuous. It has the feel of a beefed up version of the original Physix. It tips just a bit harder downlane and overall is 3-4 boards stronger than the original Physix. If you like the Physix line, you're gonna love this one!

Storm Infinite Physix

Layout: 40 x 4 ¼ x 40

The Infinite Physix might have the strongest overall hook of any pearl coverstock ball that I have ever had. The 4000 grit finish that this ball has, combined with the massive strength of the REX coverstock, enables this ball to have quite a bit of midlane traction. Combine that with strong backend continuation, and you have a ball that is great on medium-heavy to medium conditions. With all that being said, this ball does not feel like a pearl ball in the traditional sense; it is not skid-flip, nor is it sensitive to oil. This is a different kind of strong beast that feels better suited for heavier conditions today.

The Infinite Physix has the ReX Pearl Reactive cover found on the Dark Code wrapped around the Atomic core. Fortunately, I have the same 5 x 3 x 4 layout (pin in middle finger) on the Infinite Physix, Dark Code, and Nova for an easy comparison. Simply put, this group of balls provides 3 distinct reactions. The Infinite picks up the midlane very well with a nice arching, round motion. The Nova is early and very slow. And on the other end of the spectrum, the Dark Code is much cleaner and more angular, so much that it appears stronger than the others at times because it retains a lot for the backend. I think the Infinite fits in quite nicely in the lineup and is a great choice for anyone looking for a stronger asymmetrical piece that isn’t so strong that it lacks versatility.

The Infinite Physix might have a mystery smell, but this ball motion is no mystery. Every ball in the Physix line is amazing, so I knew this 4th addition to that great line would be no different. This ball is not as strong as the original Physix or Proton, which is good since everything I bowl on seems to hook a bunch. After adjusting the surface on this ball a little bit, I think it is best with more surface than the 4k Fast it comes at. For some that might be 1000 grit, but for me it’s 2000. I compared the Infinite Physix to the Nova, and the Nova was quite a bit earlier and stronger. I think it is much closer to an IQ Tour, which is more of a traditional benchmark ball. That means this ball is versatile and can be used on many different pattern lengths.

Storm Infinite Physix Ball Review by PJ Haggerty

The Physix line at Storm has been extremely successful over the years and the Infinite Physix is the latest piece that’s been released.  Using the ReX pearl coverstock along with the Atomic Core, the Infinite is an asymmetrical ball that does not quit down lane.  To be completely honest, out of the box, I expected the Infinite to be earlier rolling.  After practicing with it and using it on different patterns, this ball is much cleaner than initially thought.  The response time is also relatively quick, which I love.

I’ve drilled one so far and love it.  I drilled it with a 5.5 x 4 x 75 layout.  This puts the pin in between my bridge and middle finger and keeps the mass bias just to the right of my thumb.  The Infinite has been a perfect compliment to the Gem and RST X2.  I’ve had the most success when needing to open up my angles and creating more shape because of how quick the response time can be.

Overall, I love the Infinite Physix.  It’s been awesome on multiple patterns, lane surfaces, and volumes.  It compliments the rest of the line extremely well and rolls extremely predictable.  If you could use an asymmetrical ball that won’t quit down lane and also provide a quicker response time because of the pearl coverstock, the Infinite Physix should be the next ball you drill!

Infinite Physix

The new Infinite Physix is a welcome addition to my arsenal. I am a big fan of the Physix line and atomic core. It's a great step down from the Proton Physix as the Infinite is cleaner through the front but still gives me the ball motion I love. On THS, this has been first out of my bag since it was drilled. On longer patterns, it helps me manage the transition when I lose the look with the balls that pick up early. I love this new addition to the Physix line.

The Atomic core has been at the center of many of my favorite high performance Storm releases. It has been fun to see how each different cover has meshed with the core but personally, I've missed the reaction I had with my original Physix. Many high performance pieces lately have been very cover-strong and I've been waiting for the cleaner continuous look I had with the OG Physix.

The REX cover is a perfect blend of NEX and R2S, and retains the best characteristics of both. For me the Infinite Physix has been a great replacement for my original Physix. It begins to shape in the mid-lane, but does not over-read that part of the lane. It continues, and creates a good amount of shape, even on freshly oiled lanes.

One of my biggest compliments on ball motion, is for balls which you can throw on the fresh but not have to get out of immediately when the front of the lane begins to break down. The Physix was the ball I used to compare others to when judging that motion. Now I have the Infinite. On our high volume, longer house shot it is plenty strong to throw on the fresh, but it is so continuous you can move left alot before it feels like it is out of play. As a PSO you're always on the lookout for the ball that looks good on multiple conditions and that continues to match up well through transition. The infinite physix is going to be the "go to" reaction for your bowlers who don't want to have to build an arsenal to stay competitive when the lanes transition.

There is a unique shape coming from this bowling ball that we love. The new 4k Fast finish is really looking good on these SPI bowling balls. The Atomic core is very center heavy which drives the RG down and smoothes the ball out while still creating huge continuous power through the pins. This ball also has an intriguing scent which you can currently take a guess in Storm’s ‘guess the scent contest’. Compared to the dark code, this ball is smoother mid lane with a similar entry angle. If you love smooth big asyms then this is your ball!

The Physix line has been one of my favorite lines from storm in recent years. With the release of the infinite this ball has become a personal favorite allowing med to get left and open up the lane using 60 x 4 x 30. if you're looking for a high end pearl to add to the line up for the new season this would be a great choice.

Storm Infinite Physix
Layout : 70 x 6 x 50
Finish: 4k FAST
Lane and pattern: SPL and 48ft well blended THS

The Storm Infinite Physix was say the least the BIGGEST ball movement I can remember ever seeing. Unlike the any of the prior Physix balls that were released, the ball went a “mile” downlane with a nice blended amount of skid, hook, and when it went into the roll phase, the movement was quick and but not over reactive. When using it in the track area, it was aggressive all the way through the pins, with a little less tilt and more end over end release, the ball still had a TON power getting through the heavier and more concentrated part of the conditioner inside of the track area. I could “HOOK” the WHOLE LANE or I can smooth it out with just a touch of hand position change. The Infinite Physix was still rolling through pins shot after shot, after shot. Most Asys would not be in my bag for league due to my high rev rate and only 15 mph off of my hand with a good bit of tilt, but the Infinite Physix goes with me everywhere I have bowled since its release.

“The Infinite PhysiX did not disappoint. With the Atomic core being giving some of the best motion in the market, the Infinite PhysiX gave a cleaner look down lane with more angular motion compared to the OG PhysiX, and is smoother and rounder in shape compared to the Astro PhyiX.

I knew once the Infinite was coming out, I had to get my hands on it. The OG PhysiX gave a smoother early look, and with that ball matching up well with me, there was no doubt I needed the Infinite to give me the angular motion I needed for medium to long patters.

Let me tell you, THIS BALL IS GOOD! Not only was I able l to play the inside part of the lane, but I was able to move my feet right and play up 2nd arrow and the pins had no chance. The R2X pearl coverstock combined with the asymmetric Atomic core is simply a match made in heaven. This ball is going to be perfect for low rev to high rev bowlers and will shine on any part of the lane!

I foresee this ball to be a staple of the PBA tour as well as the PWBA!”

Review:
The Storm Infinite Physix is another very good aggressive ball form Storm. The “guess the scent promotion” from Storm had a good response at our shop. My guess was Blueberry Coffee Cake which was pretty close. At box finish this is in my top balls for total hook. The Infinite Physix is not as strong as my Gem but covers plenty of boards. This ball starts early and gives me a nice arching motion on most conditions. I felt like I would get more non tournament use out of the Infinite shined up so I applied polish right over the box finish. This did not cut down the total hook very much due to adequate friction on a house type shot but gave the ball a lot more angle to the pocket. The carry was good in box finish or with the polish applied. I have rolled this ball quite a bit now and it has had great reviews and is selling very well.  The Infinite Physix reminds me of a stronger Dark Code when polished.

Summary:
The Infinite Physix is very versatile for a strong ball.
This ball is best used on heavier oil conditions.
This ball has a lot of motion with box surface or shined up.

I had the PhysiX and Proton PhysiX so I knew I had to get the Infinite PhysiX. This ball goes long and really pops on the backend. I am bowling in a sport shot league where we change patterns every 3-4 weeks. This ball is definitely going to be a ball I take when we are bowling on a longer pattern and when I go to tournaments as well. With my low rate and higher ball speed I tend to have more sanded and stronger equipment in my arsenal. This would definitely be a ball I would take with me when bowling on a house shot as well due to its length and pop on the back end. This ball is definitely a winner and a great addition if you are needing a ball for medium to heavy oil.

The Infinite PhysiX features the ReX Pearl coverstock that debuted on the Dark Code, and which comes at 4000 grit over the strong and dynamic asymmetric Atomic core, which comes in at a 2.48 RG, .053 differential, and an .017 intermediate differential in 15 pounds. For me, the Infinite features a bit of a different shape from the previous balls in the Physix line. The other PhysiX balls seem to be more angular and slightly forward off the end of the pattern, and while the Infinite is stronger on the backend than the Proton at least, it's a very round and continuous shape. The Infinite is very similar in strength to the Dark Code, but is longer and sharper, so despite looking nearly identical on paper, there are appreciable and noticeable differences. The Infinite is a nice ball down from the strong solid asyms in the line like the Gem, Proton PhysiX, and Reality, but a ball up from balls like the Nova, RST X-2, and Rubicon UC2. It will fit best on medium heavy to heavy conditions, and while I think its overall reaction makes it best for the first ball out of the bag at league, it will also be useful on medium heavy lengths and volumes of sport patterns once transition sets in and you have to open the lanes up.

It’s finally here! The return of the pearl PhysiX in the new Infinite PhysiX. The original Atomic Core wrapped in the R2X cover. For me the Infinite is a strong Pearl that is clean and smooth with a strong backend motion.  The Infinite reads early and does not seem to overreact on friction. It is very smooth and rounded with good continuation. The Infinite will be a great choice for those looking for a little different shape than the Dark Code yet not sacrificing strength of a pearl asymmetrical ball. The Infinite will fit most play styles and conditions.

Review:
The Infinite Physix takes the well designed atomic core and wraps it with the ReX coverstock that was used on the Dark Code. The 4000K Abralon finish adds the right touch for most league and tournament bowlers.  For my review of the Infinite Physix I tested the ball on two fresh house shots at two different centers along with a Dark Code that is a pre 4K - Fast finish.

It is important to note I used layout specification #5 of the 2LS layout system which is ideal to handle wet/dry conditions. This layout on the Infinite Physix is a definite recommend. Before doing my review I discussed the Infinite Physix with several SPI members and the Infinite Physix takes well to variations in layouts.

For me, the Infinite Physix did not require any surface adjustments on the two house patterns I tested it on. I was most impressed that the ball strength did not overtake my ball speed which is on the low side for a thumbless player. Compared to my Dark Code I did not throw the Infinite Physix through the breakpoint which on occasion I have tended to do with my Dark Code. I was aware that the Infinite Physix if drilled strong for a player can tend to be a hook monster for some players. The tamer layout I chose makes the Infinite Physix a definite starter in THS bag.

The entry angle I have been able to create with the Infinite Physix has been a definite plus and provided me room to keep moving inside and not lose pin carry. The Infinite Physix will provide you with good range as conditions break down from oily to medium type conditions. Also, compared to my Dark Code I feel the the Infinite Physix provides more range for me at the OOB finish. I definitely recommend the Infinite Physix for your starter asym bag this upcoming season. I have a feeling you will not be disappointed. Be sure to check out the Infinite Physix today!

Likes: I laid my Infinite Physix out the same way as my AstroPhysix and Dark Code. I went with 45*5*35, pin up over the ring finger. With the 4K fast box finish it gives a distinct difference in shape from all other asym balls we have had. the pearl in the cover allows the ball to really float up the lane thru the front part of the pattern and the surface gives a very smooth and rounded shape down lane. I did touch the cover of mine after a few games to give it a little bit of teeth because i saw after it lane shined it would tend to wiggle alittle bit down lane. So I hit it with 500, 1500, 4000. I like it alot after that. This is definitely a ball i can go to once the pattern starts to transition and balls begin to pick up alttle early. Its an option for me before I need to go into a real shiny clean piece. Great ball for levels of bowlers

The Infinite Physix features the REX Pearl reactive coverstock wrapped around the Atomic core.  This ball is instantly one of my favorites.  I bowl on a lot of low volume house patterns and I am still able to throw this ball regularly despite it being a big core ball.  The Infinite Physix finished at 4K fast is still very clean through the front part of the lane.  It provides such easy length with a strong continuous backend motion which continues through the pin deck.  The Proton Physix is still the ball to go to when the lanes are tighter to start, but once you start leaving those weak corners that’s when the Infinite Physix will be the perfect go to ball.  The Infinite Physix will be a good fit for all styles of bowlers and can be used on a wide array of lane conditions.  Strokers will like the length of this ball so they can keep their angles closed longer but they will also be able to send the ball away from the pocket and have it come back strong.  Tweeners and crankers will love sending this ball away from the pocket and watch it boomerang back.  The Atomic core definitely helps blow up the pins!!

Infinite Excitement!

Introducing the the Infinite Physix with ReX Pearl cover at 4000 abralon dull.

Drilled one 45 x 4 3/8 x 25 my strong layout with length and quick response (Dark Code and Nova)

I place this above them in the stronger mid lane heavier volume but milder than a Proton or Reality.

As my Altered Reality replacement it delivered the confidence and trust that is required with big asymmetrical. No issues on 40' THS or longer patterns where you need to play inside and not give away the pocket.

Cover is adjustable friendly which adds to the balls versatility. Pin up, pin down or your favorite layout no disappointment here. Know the balls strengths and weaknesses to maintain your high scores.

Physix core and Dark Code cover.  The Dark Code was good but it was a little too clean and responsive at times.  I was always thinking, I’d really love this ball if it was a little earlier and a little more forward off the pattern.  And that’s exactly what Storm made with the Infinite.  It’s strong enough to handle/blend oil and backend down lane.  Since it’s SOOOO strong it struggles a little when they’re super dry or late in the day but that’s not a shock.  I love the new addition to the Physix line.

The Storm Infinite Physix is the newest premier line release from Storm. The infinite shares the same core as all the previous Physix line balls but is now wrapped in REX Pearl. REX pearl was first featured on the Dark Code. The Dark Code has been a staple in my bag ever since I drilled it. The Infinite feels like it is a zone earlier and rounder overall compared to the Dark Code. If I need control on the fresh, Infinite. If I need steeper angles and more shape, Dark Code.

The Infinite PhysiX has a super clean presence in the front part of the lane, but has some nice grab in the middle parts before going dynamite on the backend. As a bowler, that is my favorite type of roll: clean, grab and flip! This ball is really versatile in my eyes. It can be the biggest piece in my bag, second in line or the versatile piece for when it’s time to change attacking plans on the lanes. It’s a dynamite ball…all you have to do is light the fuse and let it rip!

The Newest version of the Physix is and interesting one!  I am the biggest fan of the Dark Code.  That ball may be my favorite ball ever from SPI.  The Infinite has the same cover, the ReX Pearl Hybrid, which is part NeX Pearl and part R2S pearl.  Also being a big fan of the Physix line, I was highly anticipating this release!

I used the same layout on this ball as I do my favorite Dark Codes, 4x6x2 or 50x6x30.  Straight out of the box, this ball was a little slower down lane than I would have thought but as the surface naturally shined up, the shape got better. I let it lane shine rather than adding compound or polish because its summer in the midwest and the back ends are always flying!

I don’t see as much motion out of this ball as I do the dark code, which isn’t a bad thing! It blends the wet/dry very well and I see this ball in use A LOT!

I always loved the Physix serie !!! Even if it's an assymetrical series, for me, all the Physix was been good for dry lane too !

For these, I drilled mine 65 X 5 1/4 X 35.

I think that it will be good on multiple patterns, lane surfaces, and volumes and it's for this reason that it will be probably my benchmark ball.  It's a really good  compliments the rest of the actual line. It's really predictable. If you search an assymetrical ball that have continuous motion on the pins, the Infinite Physix is you choice !!

For sure, this ball will follow me on my tournament bag !!

LANE CONDITION

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): Multiple (Sport and Recreational)

COMMENTS

The Storm Infinite PhysiX bowling ball features the iconic Atomic Core and the ReX coverstock. I have had lots of success with previous PhysiX bowling balls as this core seems to roll quite well for me; therefore, I am thrilled about the Infinite PhysiX as well.

Knowing that this core has a lot of flare potential, I drilled my Infinite PhysiX with a longer pin-to-pap, pin-up layout: 65 x 5 ½ x 30. The Infinite PhysiX has become one of the first bowling balls that come out of my bag depending on lane conditions. The bowling ball appears to be very smooth and round - pretty good at keeping the ball closer to the pocket.  I have noticed that this core, cover and layout combination makes the ball “stand-up” quite fast, which makes me believe this ball would roll pretty good with a pin-down layout too.

I have had great success with the Infinite PhysiX on wet/dry conditions and when I am looking for a slower response bowling ball. It has worked pretty well for me on a lot fresh patterns and seemed to respond to hand position changes easily. Overall, I believe the Infinite PhysiX is a good and versatile bowling ball for those looking for another option for fresh conditions.

Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the Storm Infinite Physix and In 15 pounds this ball is wrapped in the REX Pearl Coverstock and comes 4000-grit polished with an RG of 2.48, Diff of .053, and a PSA of .017 with a layout of 3.5X4X2.5.
This ball right here hit me in all the feel good spots after just one throw. WHY? Well I have been a huge fan of the OG Physix and this one was everything I enjoyed about throwing that ball, but with one difference. That is that the Infinite comes with some teeth being to me a duller version of that OG Physix. There were times that I wished that I had a stronger version and this ball is it. I use this ball a lot around town as we have some higher friction centers and even on the fresh I can use balls like this one. I do find that if I needed a ball with a touch more reaction I can use an IDOL Cosmos and as soon as I need to ball down this one is it. This ball is perfect for all styles of players and will develop some great numbers.
BOWLER STYLE: RH - Power Stroker Rev Rate: 320 Ball Speed: 15-16 PAP: 4 7/8 right 5/8 up.

Infinite physix

The infinite physix is factory finish at 4000 and compared to the past physix line of balls especially the original physix this is the most smoothest one out of the bunch. I honestly didn’t think I would like it because I was so used to the original physix that was really strong down lane but I do enjoy using the infinite physix when I need something thats smoother on the fresh and not so jumpy. I don’t have the original physix anymore and I wish I did BUT based on what I remember the infinite physix would be about 5-6 boards weaker in a good way so it would compliment each other very well. With the layout 4 3/4 x 5 x 2 puts the pin just above my ring finger and mass bias just left of my thumb. I get good length and a not so jumpy back end like the IQ Tour solid but stronger for more oil

Being left handed I don’t deal with a lot of “junk” per say especially during league so depending on the day and weather I can pull this one out when I need more control. I bowl at a house with Brunswick lanes with some pretty high friction but with good head oil and volume so the balls do get down lane very well and can use almost anything if you play the lanes right so a smooth ball like this compared to the other physixs is a good ball to have in your arsenal

The Physix line is back! Storm Bowling is introducing the all the new Infinite Physix. Bringing back the original Physix Core wrapped with the REX Pearl coverstock; the same coverstock found on the Dark Code. Huge fan of the Dark Code and absolutely loved the original Physix, so it only makes sense to get this one! This ball for me is going to fit right above the Dark Code.

During the transition period in tournaments, if I am caught in between my solid symmetrical options and my asymmetrical pearl options, because the phsyix has enough core and cover to really dig into the lane, this ball is going to be my first option during that transition period. Especially on the national tour, we bowl on so much volume that a pearl this strong is necessary for the first transition.

The Physix line has returned and it's time to get your hands on one. Stop by your local Storm VIP Pro shop and get yours today!

Storms new addition to the Premier line the brand new Infinite Physix! This ball features the ReX Pearl Reactive Coverstock wrapped around the Atomic Core!

One of my favorite balls has been my Dark Code, which also has the ReX Pearl cover, so when I heard they were putting it on the new Infinite Physix I had to get one, and I was not disappointed. This has been my go to ball for both house and sport shots. This ball has no trouble getting through the heads, very predictable in the mid lane with a strong smooth back end. For me it is a stronger Dark code with a smoother, but strong backend reaction.

Infinite Physics this ball goes. Wrapped in the REX Pearl Coverstock this ball gets down lane pretty well but for me when it sees the lane it goes and keeps on going. This ball is a hook monster for me. Love to use this when I want to open up the lane and really wing it. For me this has been a great ball for sport shots. This ball is perfect for heavier oil lane conditions.

Storm Infinite PhysiX
Coverstock: ReX Pearl (4000 Grit)
Core: Atomic Core
RG: 2.48, Diff: 0.053, PSA: 0.017 (15 lbs)
PAP: 5 3/16 over x 5/8 up
VLS Layout: 3 5/8 x 5 1/4 x 1 5/8
Dual Angle Layout: 65 x 3 5/8 x 30
Location: Prairie Lanes, Sun Prairie WI
Pattern: Medium volume THS

The Storm Infinite PhysiX is the most recent addition to the PhysiX line.  It shares the same strong and dynamic Atomic core as each other PhysiX balls, but this one is wrapped in the ReX pearl cover with a 4000-grit Abralon finish. The ReX pearl coverstock first made its debut on the Dark Code.  I’m a huge fan of the original PhysiX, and while the Astro and Proton were, and still are, great balls, they didn’t see much use for me. Likewise, the Dark Code was very over/under for me, so when the Infinite was announced with the 4000-grit ReX pearl cover, I knew I was going to put the same layout on it as my Dark Code in hopes that I could see a similar shape but even out the backend reaction. Needless to say, that decision has worked out perfectly.

The Infinite is similar in strength to the Dark Code, but it gives me a slightly rounder and strong continuous shape on the backend as opposed to the skid/snap I was getting with Dark Code. The Infinite is a fantastic high-end ball that’s one step down from the hook monsters like Proton PhysiX or Super Nova, but is stronger than something like the Nova. It’s often the first ball out of my bag for league as bit blends the wet/dry really well. I can’t recommend it enough if you’re looking for a high-end ball that you’d be able to use the entire night for league and is a good ball to transition into on sport patterns once the lanes open up a bit and you still need a stronger piece.

I drilled up 2 of these one pin up at about 65 x 4.5 x 30 and the other pin down at 50 x 4.5 x 70. I have thrown both at box finish to see the differences. The pin under is slower and is more like a hook and set reaction. The pin up has became a go to ball for me on medium to medium/heavy conditions and longer patterns. The Infinite has a good solid backend motion for me on those patterns and I may drill a third one with a much higher pin buffer to see if it will finish strong when I have to move inside deep.

Storm Infinite Physix Ball Review

Bowler Stats:
Speed: 15.5 MPH
Rev Rate: 300
Tilt: 3-5 degrees
Axis Rotation: 60 degrees
PAP: 5 ⅜ over 1 ¼ up

When any ball in the Physix line is released I am excited to drill it and see how it performs on the lanes. One of my favorite balls is the original Physix and I have drilled every release in the line since my game matches the ball motion of the core and any cover combination. With the latest release the Infinite has the REX cover that is on the popular Dark Code, but instead of 1500 plus polish as the finish it is 4K with no polish. I drilled the Infinite with a 5 inch pin and a VLS layout of 5 X 41/2 X 23/4.

The REX pearl gives me the length I need as a low rev rate player and a quicker more continuous reaction off the end of the pattern. For me it is a versatile addition to my arsenal and compliments the Proton Physix. If the Proton is reading the pattern too early instead of balling down I can use the Infinite instead. I have had success using it on multiple house conditions around the Tampa area and out on the PBA 50 Tour on the Mark Roth 42’ and Billy Hardwick 44’ patterns.

Storm Infinite Physix review by Brian Watson

Lets start to say I'm a big fan of the Storm Physix line which has been a successful line for Storm.  Storm used the Rex Pearl coverstock with the Atomic Core.  I drilled mine with my standard pin down layout, 5 x 4 x 4.  I also applied Storm step 2 to the surface as our house shots are on the drier side.  I was real impressed on the length i got out of the Infinite even being Asymmetrical.  Also the response time downlane was rather quick and this ball doesn't bog down like some bigger asymmetricals.  The infinite is ball down from Gem and Proton.  But a ball up from the Phaze 2 and stronger than a Reality or reality check.  As the Beef and Barnzy show says weekly on their show with ball recommendations they suggest the Infinite and use your favorite layout!
I have drilled the Infinite for variety of bowlers, down and in players and high rev guys. Both styles were very pleased with the reaction from the Infinite!

PAP - 4 up 1 1/8
MPH - 16-17
Tilt  -   17
RPM - 400

Great Addition the Storm Line!

Another great addition to the Physix line.  The Infinite is a step down for me from the big balls. Proton, Gem, Reality etc..... It's cleaner threw the front with a more continuous backend shape. Stronger for me then the Dark Code but not as angular.

Infinite PhysiX:

ReX Pearl coverstock (Used on the Dark Code)

4000 grit

Asymmetric Atomic core---2.48 RG, .053 differential, .017 intermediate differential--15 pounds.

The Infinite is stronger than I expected. I expected a longer/more angular version of the original Physix...I got longer/more angular/overall stronger.

Infinite is stronger on the backend than the Proton, a couple boards less overall.

The Infinite looks like a longer/more angular Dark Code to me.

If I needed a touch more length than my Nova gets, I could go here. If I need a little less than my Reality, this works,

This is a pearl that can be the first ball out of the bag on any heavy house shot league.

The Infinite Physix is my most hated ball of all time. I am fully willing to accept I personally got a lemon. However, my teammate also picked up an Infinite and we have had identical experiences with our balls. Frustrating, erratic, unpredictable, weak. The Infinite Physix literally does the opposite of what you want it to do every shot and is spectacular at creating new ways to confound and befuddle you as a bowler. I bought this ball upon release and was extremely excited about it when it first came out. I am an asymmetrical pearl fanatic. I have maybe 30-40 games on mine, pull it out every three months or so to see if I’m crazy. And it winds up going back to my ball graveyard as I can’t believe it’s even worse then I remembered. On the positive side, it is probably the best smelling Storm ball I’ve ever experienced. I wish I didn’t hate it so much as it smells incredible and always makes my bag and car smell nice when I decide to give it another try.

Pros

- Incredibly loud Blueberry smell that is quite delightful and will envelope in a nice way any environment you have it in.

- The Blue color scheme of this ball is pretty cool.

Cons

- Holy hell, where do I begin with this brick? As I said in the introduction, I bought it when it first came out and give it another try every few months. And I always come away astonished at just how bad and how much worse it is then I remembered it.

- Completely erratic movement. Sometimes it’ll give you too much. Sometimes not enough. But will usually disappoint and frustrate you by doing the opposite of what you intended.

- One of the lightest and weakest balls going through the pocket I have ever seen. You will laugh out loud at the singles and the bizarre splits this ball leaves. Playing with it just a few days ago, I smacked the pocket from multiple different angles dead flush just to leave single, corner pins and splits from hell. I am not sure why this ball is so weak but I’ve never seen anything quite like it before.

- I don’t like the shape of it very much. When I think of an asymm pearl, I think of a hockey stick motion of straight through the fronts and mids then exploding left when the ball finds friction. The Infinite however is little more continuous than you would think with bizarre erratic movements that are either sometimes too weak or sometimes too strong. The core kind of sluggishly powers this ball into a lazy roll that often will deflect or go through the pins in an odd way. However, at slower speeds, the core will suddenly take off leading to extremely sharp heavy asymm movements that are difficult to control.

- My experience with this ball is that it's extremely unforgiving, you have to throw it just right, the way it wants to be thrown, or you're going to have a bad time. My Infinite bricks, cannon balls and poops out with a lazy weak motion when trying to dial up the speed of it. Yet gets extremely erratic the slower you get with it. So lazy and weak ball motion with higher speeds and erratic "WTF?" type motion at slower speeds.

- With the odd not quite angular and not quite continuous ball motion, I'm at a loss of what I'm supposed to do with this ball. Up the gutter or stroking off of the right ten on the lane, this ball doesn't have a sharp enough break to cut through the pins like you would think an asymm pearl would. Yet the ball is lazy and doesn't have enough natural horsepower to be that effective cranking it left of 20. I guess if you're a lower speed player who is in that 13-14mph range, this ball might fit you? But every angle I play with this ball, there's another ball that does it much better.

- The 4k fast finish of the Infinites is a very cool intriguing idea. Having a ball that will retain it’s out of box motion as it settles to it’s natural grit is an unbelievably awesome idea. However this ball is so erratic that I don’t know what to make of the finish. Out of desperation, just to try something different, I hit it with a 1000 pad. But this just seemed to magnify all the problems with this ball.

To conclude this review, my Infinite’s bridge just cracked after a minimal amounts of games, leading to the end of the career of the worst ball I’ve experienced so far. I had this experience with my Infinite and my teammate has this experience with their ball. I feel like the UC2 does what the Infinite is trying to do, just Infinitely better. However, I have seen pros on television make it look good. I also have another teammate who bought an Infinite much later then we did, who has made his look good on occasion. I’ve seen noted ball reviewers say the Infinite is the best ball of the year… which blows my mind. So I’m willing to accept maybe the first early releases of this ball were lemons or there was some freak act of God occurrence why this ball was so awful for us. But still, the Infinite Physix will go down in my memory as the worst ball I’ve ever thrown until (God forbid) something even worse comes along I get suckered into buying.

Plz no bully.  :)
