The Hy-Road series of bowling balls from Storm has been a favorite for a long time! The Storm Night Road carries on that tradition through the use of the successful Inverted Fe2 weight block used in all of the Hy-Road bowling balls. This mid-performance ball introduces us to the ReX Pearl Reactive coverstock which is a combination of the R2S and NeX coverstock technologies. This ball offers power and control a provides an ideal response time to friction that is sure to gain attention.

Review:
The Night Road features the newer 4K Fast coverstock. This coverstock as you would expect will read a tad sooner than previous pearl offerings. You will be thoroughly impressed with what the Night Road offers in terms of length down the lane and control off the spot.

For my review I compared the Night Road to the Hy-Road Max. For me, the Night Road has a much larger window of use than the Hy-Road Max. The Night Road is most impressive through the hook phase.  The 4K Fast finish is clearly a homerun on this offering. Unfortunately, the Hy-Road Max cover/core combination did not seem to be a great match. The cover was a tad strong for me and a bit to lazy off the pattern. The Night Road upgrade definitely matches the cover/core much better.

Storm has really upgraded the middle of the arsenal with the Night Road. For me, the 4K Fast finish is more complimentary compared to the Hy-Road Max NeX cover due to my slower ball speed as a thumbless player. The Night Road gets through the front part of the lane much easier and the shape down lane allows me to be more open with my angles. The Hy-Road Max, until I shinned it up a bit, was a bit early for me on a few patterns and had limited use in my bag for the majority of lane surfaces I bowl on.

For the video review I tested the Night Road on a typical THS shot.  After a few shots the Night Road really found its groove on a THS pattern.  The Night Road is very easy to read and a great transition ball as you step down in the bag.

I recommend the Night Road for the player looking for an edge on league transition and desiring a ball to continue with the transition as it occurs. I'm definitely excited for this ball from Storm. Grab a Night Road today!

Storm Night Road: Fe2 weight block with the ReX pearl cover stock. 4k
fast out of the box and the layout is 60 x 6 ¾ x 60, which is a new one
for me in my arsenal. Blending the best of two proven coverstocks of
NeX and R2S was next level from the team at Storm R&D crew. Not
having a Hyroad in my bag for several years, I forgot how forward
rolling and great overall reaction from this special piece. I was not a fan
of the Hyroad X or the Hyroad Max, those two balls were more for
certain conditions and patterns, where in turn, the Night Road fit more

across all board including length of patterns, volume of conditioner
used and the actual condition and type of lane surface. For the past
year I relied very heavily on my Hyped Hybrid and Storm Phaze III for
being those staple balls, I will be replacing the Phaze III with the new
Night Road. Marking this ball as a “benchmark ball” would be a shame,
because it more than the “Middle Road” when it comes to overall
performance. Thanks to the team at SPI for allowing me to repping the
best brand in the sport of bowling.

Review:
The night road took two proven parts of very successful bowling balls from Storm’s lines. For the cover the Night Road took the REX cover that was found on the Infinite Physixs and the Dark Code. For the core it took the proven Fe2 from the Hi-Road. The combination of the core and cover stock created a ball that is a little earlier rolling then the original Hi-Road. I decided to give my Night Road a little more length by adding some polish to it. But overall, this is a great ball out of the box at the 4k fast finish.

Review:
This was a much anticipated release for us with the successful ReX cover (found on the Dark Code and Infinite Physix) wrapped around the fame of the Fe2 weightblock in the HyRoad line. It was to no surprise that the Night Road hooks more and earlier than the HyRoad OG and Pearl. This ball seemed to read better and be more forgiving once the lanes broke down a bit. This will be a great addition to tournament players who love the strong pearl ReX cover and want a step down from the Infinite or Dark Code. For the house or league players that love the HyRoad line, this would be a great addition if you want an earlier reading ball than the HyRoad OG. Overall this ball has great shelf appeal with the sparkling purple logos with the midnight black 4K Fast finish and definitely lives up to the Road line hype!

Review:
This is probably my favorite Road Series Ball since the Hyroad X. I know the Road series has a great following but I have not been blown away like some people have. Some Road Balls seem to be conditional for me like the Hyroad Max and even the original Hyroad. For me through the Night Road is giving me a different look from the series than I am used to. I get more entry angle and continuation from the Night Road than the Max or Original. This ball fits between my Electrify G/O and Phase 5 in total hook. The Night Road has an excellent move to and through the pocket.  I like the 4K fast surface for this ball. The Night Road is a better Hyroad X in my opinion and doesn’t need the surface care the Hyroad X did. I used to have to reshine my X after every 6 games. This ball has the thick cover and I am convinced this helps the carry and popularity of the Road Series of Balls. Although I like to go up the boards or use a slight belly type of shot I am pretty comfortable moving inside with this ball and keeping my carry percent high. The Night Road works very well on a house shot and uses the oil and friction to its advantage without being jumpy. I don’t see much lane shine on this ball when I am done rolling it.
We have drilled a good amount of these so far for my customers and we have seen great ball motions from a variety of styles. The customers are providing great feedback on this ball.

Summary:
The Night Road may be my favorite in the Road Series.
The Ball has a very strong back end move.
The Night Road plays well from inside while maintaining hit.
This ball goes through the pins with authority!

Review

Storm has done it again. The Night Road is my go-to ball when the lanes are transitioning late in the block. The inverted Fe2 weight block wrapped in the REX pearl cover makes this ball very clean through the front part of the lane with a very strong backend finish. As a low rev player, I have always struggled to move left and trust that the ball was going to have enough power to carry the corner pins. I tested this ball on 44 feet typical house pattern and 43 feet sport pattern with a lot of down lane transition and had no issues carrying the corner pins. This ball will be in my bag for league and tournaments. This is a great ball for all levels of bowlers. Order one from your local pro shop today! The Night Road is made up of the ReX pearl cover that’s on the Dark Code, Infinite PhysiX, and Fate, and one of the greatest cores in the Inverted Fe2 from the Hy-Road series.

The word that comes to mind when throwing the Night Road is CLEAN. Between the high rg core and the pearl ReX, the Night Road scoots easily down lane. It also creates a very familiar Hy-road shape that is strong and continuous but not overly sharp. The Night Road to me feels like an upgraded OG Hy-Road. I think the Night Road fits best in my bag for when the fronts have been beat up and balls like the Zen and Phaze 5 start to pick up too early.

The Storm Night Road is the latest addition to the Thunder line and it’s been a great piece to drill.  As bowlers, most of us are familiar with the great history the HyRoad has provided, and the Night Road is continuing that tradition.  With an RG of 2.57 and differential of .046, the Night Road is a ball that all types of players can use.  It’s wrapped with the ReX pearl coverstock along with the Inverted Fe core under the hood. 

I’ve drilled one so far and think it rolls great.  I drilled it with the pin above my bridge with a slight kick of the CG.  This comes out to 5 x 4.  I also put the ball on the spinner and hit it with 4000 and water just to give it a bit more shine and create a faster response time.  After some of the bigger-cored balls go through their transition (Gem, Reality, Infinite Physix), the Night Road is the perfect ball to transition to. 

I haven’t used the Night Road on shorter patterns yet, but on house shots or patterns with a decent amount of volume, this piece is definitely in my bag.  Also, I think it’s close to a Wolverine Dark Moss, but I have the Night Road cleaner and more responsive down lane. 

If you need a ball that creates angle, is clean through the front part of the lane, and compliments the high performance balls, the Night Road should be the next ball you drill.

Night Road is an updated Pearl HyRoad with the Rex pearl cover.  If you want a HyRoad that hooks much earlier than the OG HyRoad or the HyRoad Pearl, this is the ball for that.  The Night Road catches so much more midlane than the OG Hyroad I actually have to play it more right than the HyRoad because it doesn’t jerk off the friction.  IT IS SMOOOOTHH.  It also gives me All Road vibes so if you liked that ball, this is a no brainer.

The new addition in the Hyroad line is the Night Road. The has the very successful Inverted Fe² Technologyâ„¢ Core (Symmetrical) but with the new REX Pearl cover stock. This cover is also on the Infinite Physix, Dark Code and Fate.  I drilled mine with a 4.5 x 4 x 1.75 layout. I am a huge fan of this new REX pearl cover.  The cover is earlier and smoother off of the friction.  With the original Hyroad cover it can be a little flippy.  But the Night Road with the new cover is very controllable. The Night Road has been a great league ball for me lately and even on the fresh.  But sometimes the 3rd game is starts to bog down a little, which I can go straight to the Hyroad and be lined up still.  I have the Night Road a little similar to the Dark Moss, but its a little more down lane motion. It also shines on the short/medium sport patterns, as it allows to keep things in front of you until they open up a little.
I can usually use the Night Road as a ball down from the Reality Check.  I have drilled quite of few of them in the shop.  Great Addition to the Storm family!

The Storm Night Road features the tried and true Inverted FE2 core and the REX pearl reactive coverstock.  It comes factory finished at the new 4K fast.  I drilled my Night Road with my usual/favorite drilling of 60 x 5 x 45.  This ball might is one of the most versatile balls Storm has put out in recent memory.  I would put the Night Road right between the HyRoad Max and the original HyRoad.  The Night Road is much cleaner than the HyRoad Max and has a much better backend reaction.  When compared to the original HyRoad, The Night Road reads the pattern much sooner and has a similar but smoother backend reaction.  The 4K fast finish allows this ball to blend out the typical wet/dry house patterns and lets you chase the pattern inside as the lanes transition.  This is a ball that all styles will be able to use across a variety of lane conditions.

The New Night Road is here. This is the newest symmetrical pearl in the Storm lineup. The Night Road reads the mid lane well and has a very smooth motion picks up down with strong continuation through the pins. The Night Road is longer and is more angular on the back. You will be able to move in when needed later in a block or a step down in league if your needed to control the pocket and play straighter. I found that bringing the surface down to 1000 or 1500 with polished made the Night Road come alive. The Night Road is suitable for most play styles. If you like a shape that is longer down lane with more angular backend motion this will be a great choice. Great addition to the lineup! Good Luck and Good Scoring!

Storm Night Road –
I have been a long time lover of the Hyroad and Hyroad Pearl. So, when the Night Road came out, I had to try it right away! I was NOT disappointed. I felt it rolled a bit too early for me at box finish, so I put a splash of polish on it. Even with the polish, it does not miss the mid lane at all. It shapes very well and goes through the pins great. It’s very versatile, and it can be used on many different patterns. Get one today, and you won’t be disappointed!

It's like a big brother to one of my all time favorites the Hyroad Pearl. While the pearl is in play after the lanes have broken down the Night Road gives me that same motion but to start the night when the lanes are fresh.

The Night Road features the same FE2 core found in all the previous road series balls but is now wrapped in REX pearl. Anyone that knows me knows how much I love the REX cover. It’s the perfect combination of length, friction and response time for a variety of different shots. I feel like it’s one of our best covers when it comes to accepting surface changes as well. The Night Road for me has fit at the bottom of my league bag. When I need something to open up a lane at the end of a set but still create a large enough footprint to slow down enough when I miss left, the Night Road is the go-to ball. I’ve already snapped off a ton of league pots game three sliding in the left gutter and just throwing it right. Compared to the OG, the Night Road offers a similar overall shape from about 5 boards further left. Be sure to stop into your local Storm VIP pro shop and grab your very own Night Road today!
