The Storm Nova high-performance bowling ball advances core technology astronomically! I'm a little late to the party with the Storm Nova, and I wish I wouldn't have waited on it! I went with a 45 X 5 x 65 layout, and the predictable, strong, continuous motion I get is what I needed and wanted out of this spot in the bag. Generally, hybrids and I have a great relationship and this is no exception. The 3000 grit finish is the happy medium between mid-lane and length. Being low RG and asymmetric, it fits closer to the top of the bag, but still under a Reality or a Gem. If either of those seems to be too much too early on whatever you're bowling on, this is the small step down from either of those.

Review:
My first initial though on this ball was that it was going to be to close to my reality. But after throwing is some and making some surface changes, I quickly realized this ball was going to have its own place within my bag. Unlike most dull balls this ball doesn’t care if you move left, it almost encouraged it at times. When I added some polish to the cover that is when I fell in love with this ball. This ball allowed me to play deeper on the lane and still had enough pop on the backend to kick those pesky ten pins out. If you haven’t picked up your Nova yet make sure you do so now!

Late for the review but couldn't skip this one...the Nova deserves a great review.

Out of the box, the Nova is strong and smooth. After a few games, lane shine sets in and it adds a touch of length and angle on the backend.

It fills the small gap between my 900Global Reality and Roto Grip RST-X1.

Since getting the Nova, it has been my go to ball on any shot with medium-heavy oil. I can still control it on medium stuff and it fights though the oiliest stuff we see in my area. So much versatility for a strong ball. Reminds me a lot of the RST-X1 as far as versatility goes...but it is definitely stronger.

I can't wait for more releases with the Ignition core. It's been a hit for years overseas in the Gate Series and I am sure it will continue to gain popularity here in the US.

Best Storm/RG/900G release for me since the Phaze 3 (my favorite).

I picked the surface change due to the lane conditions and
Type of lane surface I bowl on.
The Storm Nova was a great addition to line up a few weeks ago, and I had a grip and pitch changes thanks to Staff Manager Mike Sinek to get use to before I drilled another Nova and drill up new stuff. (I don’t like plugging balls; I donate them right to the juniors in my area). I found with the Nova with box surface a little bit early in movement when coming off of the pattern than my other recent hybrid coverstock balls. So, I ran the gauntlet of grits from 360, 500, 800, 1000, 1500,2000,3000,4000 and 5000, and was able to speed up the ball in the front part of the pattern, which in turn saved additional energy, but still was enough of RA valve on the cover to make a strong recovery and not “skate” through the back part of the lane. The ball fits great between my Roto Grip GEM and Roto Grip Hyped Pearl. With the cover as it has been prepped reminds A LOT of the Roto Grip Idol Magenta. If you still looking for that great MID strength bowling ball for the upcoming tournaments and next season, look no farther than the Storm NOVA.
