I am very happy to report the Storm Paradigm Passion is another excellent ball by Storm!
I liked the original Paradigm and I had hoped the solid version of the EOX coverstock would
get me a little extra on oiler lanes. Needless to say, the Passion passed the test.

I drilled my Passion strong with the RAD just right of the thumbhole, pin slightly
right of the ring finger, extra hole. I am a t'weener, 5 1/4  - PAP. I kept the out of the
box surface. The conditon was a house condtion, although they oil 40 feet. I played
in the middle of the swamp just to see how the new cover would react. I kept the ball in
the oil and couldn't believe the motion.

The Passion floated through the heads and the RAD+ weight block picked up
great in the mids. Awesome motion with a very strong move to the hole and great continuation through the pins. Struck like a mad man. The EOX coverstock is very unique. I don't see this motion on any of the other brands. It outhooked the 'One' and hit harder than the 'Ultimate Inferno.'

The Passion is a great partner to the original Paradigm. The Storm covers have exceeded
my expectations and I can't say enough about their performance. Storm has definitley turned
it up a notch with the EOX coverstocks!

Time to make some money on the lanes.

I have had 2 of these. While the reaction is great and the ball seems to be good. I have not been able to keep one long enough to bowl more that 6 games with each before both cracked. The filler core is soft and it breaks down then the shell cracks. This would be a great ball if it would hold up. 6 games then cracking is not acceptable. Terrible Ball...be warned.

Michael,

Please take these back to your VIP proshop and have them give us a call. We'll be more than happy to get you replacement balls.  There were a few of the original seed balls that went out with some problems. Our our R&D team found and fixed the problems. Thanks for the email.

I got this ball about 3 weeks ago and I can honestly say that it's the best thing to happen to my game ever!  I purchased and got it drilled at Randy & Rich's Pro shop at Riverview Lanes in Birmingham Alabama.  TheI was actually going in to buy an X-Factor Trifecta but decided to try the Passion.

I got this ball drilled up Stacked Leverage by Rich Maher and I believe that I am the first bowler in Birmingham to own a Passion.  It's just like I have a remote control to the pocket.  In the past 3 weeks I have shot several 700 series.  On last Sunday (Jan 29th) I shot 226-288-289 for an 803 series!  I don't know if it's the first 800 shot with this ball but this ball is a can't miss.  I have not have any problems with it cracking or losing it's aggressiveness. In fact I'm about to throw my shoulder out of the socket to keep it from hooking too much and I don't have that much hand on my shots.  Unless the lane is flooded with Vaseline this is my ball of choice.

Got mine 3 weeks ago. Waited to post till I threw it on various conditions. One thing I can say is it is really versatile for an oil ball, if you can adjust your hand. That said it is SUPER STRONG. Most amazing thing to me is how continuous it is even on slightly drier conditions. Threw it on old wood lanes just see the reaction and was amazed for a dull (I wet sanded it to 800, 500 oob was just way too much) ball, it never quit. No roll out or stop, just great continuation throught the pins. Ball really comes to life though when used on its intended condition, heavy oil. Like the Pardigm, it reads the mid-lane great and really turns the corner on the heaviest stuff I could find. If you want something for oil, you cannot go wrong here.

Got mine drilled today by Mike Miller at Ten Pins and More in Rio Rancho, NM.  Beore drilling ball was 15lbs. 5 oz. with 3.38 oz of TW and a 2.5" Pin.  Ball was drilled 4x4 with a balance hole placed 45 degrees out from the Center of Grip and 6" out(it sits about 3-4" right of my ring finger), and the Pin is 1/2" right of ring finger.  Ball is very aggressive on my typical house pattern(38" buffed to 45" synthetic)it is currently about 7 boards stronger then my Original Paradigm(4" pin above fingers and Polished) During the 1st 6 games the ball left a total of 9 solid 9 pin leaves and only a couple of 10 pins.
Overall, another excellent ball from Storm, I will post another review later on after the cover tames down a bit or after some coverstock experimenting.

Tweaked the cover a little, wet sanded with 1000 grit and polished with Ebonite Extender Polish.  The ball in this condition is still very aggressive, still 4-5 boards stronger than my Paradigm.

I may have found the best finish to compliment this balls coverstock, changed the 1000 grit polish to 800 Abralon with just a hint of polish, excellent combonation.  This reaction gives me a little bit more of livelier backend reaction.

Hope this review is useful.

Well I have been bowling with my Passion for about a month. I wanted to try it out on a variety of conditions before posting my review. Since purchasing this ball, I have been impressed. I bought the ball to deal with the flooded conditions that began on my Friday night league. I have the original Paradigm and when the lanes are Medium oily, the Paradigm is a fantastic ball. Unfortunately, when the lanes are Heavy, the Paradigm cannot make the turn. Oh, it tries, but sadly keeps going straight. In its defense, it was not designed for heavy oil. Enter the Passion. The Passion grips the lane in the wettest conditions I have seen. I bowled on freshly oiled lanes tonight. Literally watched him oil the lanes and then put the Passion out there. Found I could crank, not with the usual speed that a Paradigm on medium lanes can do, but if I watched my speed a little, the ball was coming back to the pocket. After three games, I asked the mechanic if he could put another coat of oil on the lane. He looked at me funny, thinking I had too much confidence in the ball and then complied. I realize, that you would probably never see this scenario, but I wanted to test out the ball on the most extreme conditions. It helps to give me a mental benchmark of what to expect from the ball. Although I could not crank it, the ball stroked nicely. I'd send it down the lane near the right hand gutter and this ball would rev up before taking a left turn and smashing the pocket. Keep in mind the ball is drilled 3.5 x 5. You can drill this ball 4 x 4 and maybe get the ball to crank in doubled oiled lanes. In any event, ball has surpassed my expectations. This ball has monster backend even in Heavy Oil and hits very hard. I am still in love with the Paradigm for its lively pin action and severe snap, but when the lanes get greasy, its time for the Passion.

This is one of the best rolling balls for oil!  The passion hooks!  It gets through the heads as a pearl but turns over extremely well.  This ball hits well, just as the paradigm does.  I have enjoyed this ball a great deal on the sport conditions.  I left the box surface on it and put the pin just below my bridge and kicked the cg and mass bias out about 2-2 1/2 inches to the right, with an extra hole 4 1/2 inches over and 1 inch up.  This ball is not quite as versatile as the paradigm, but it rolls much better in oil than the paradigm.  Just another great ball by storm.

Good Luck and Good Bowling,
Michael

I just bought and had Steve Jaros drill one up for me.  This ball is quite the beast.  I will descrbe the layout later; let me give you the details....First, this ball is for heavy oil...Don't dare try going on anything below a medium oil as it will hook outta' control. My Passion is in OOB and I was playing on a typical league shot; only slightly used up before hand...So with this ball I was standing at about 30 and throwing to around 8.  For the most part the ball did the job well; hitting like a truck and just getting to the pocket. For the first game 216; not too shabby.  Second game was even better!  The lanes were transitioning; but not enough to have to move...255...Third game, moved two and the transition was even stronger....To that point forget it....Way to reactive....In this I figure the shot had about atleast one league before hand, so they were getting quite dry...Total for 3...655

I wanted something to handle more oil than my absolute inferno.  I drilled them the same way, pin over middle (i'm right handed), cg kicked right, and rad right of thumb.  This is a recommend drilling from storm.

Now my absolute goes long and has a very controllable arc.  If you remember the pba touney that Sean Rash won, Mike Devany had an absolute drilled this same way.

When I threw the passion, it didn't turn over at all.  I have thrown this ball on a variety of house and tournament conditions, it never turns over!  It just goes and goes and goes.  For me to get it to turn, I have to really crank it with slow speed, then every time I hit the pocket, its 10 pin 10 pin 10 pin.

This ball sucks, what more can i say!

I drilled a Passion this week and have an opportunity to throw it in a number of houses and on a number of conditions thus far and love the roll the ball produces. The ball picks up hard in the midlane and has a very strong, yet controllable arc on the backend. I can best describe the roll as a solid particle midlane with a solid reactive backend. The ball is as advertised, do not throw it on short or light volume patterns or it will pick up way too hard early. The ball is best suited for longer, oiler patterns. If you are looking for a hard charging oil ball that you can control then pick up a Paradigm Passion.

I'm left handed, 200+ average.  I bought this ball for heavy oil.  This ball gets down the lane and has a nice gentle move to the pocket.  I can work the middle, track, or outside line.  I really murder the pocket with this ball.  I score in the 190s to 250s even when I'm playing around with different lines.  I shot on dry wood lanes with this ball and really had to wing it but the ball snapped hard and found the pocket for a surprising 680.  I highly recommend this ball for medium to heavy oil.  This ones a keeper.
