The Storm PhysiX has the NRG hybrid cover with the Atomic core. Unless I’m on a ton of volume, asymmetric bowling balls don’t always match up too well for me. The Sure Lock is often too early and I couldn’t find a place for the Code X after loving the Code Black and Code Red. The Intense Fire was quite different. I drilled my Fire 50 x 4.5 x 30. Due to my roll, I still see that “asym stand up” in the mid lane, but I can use it deeper into a set if I have a decent amount of oil.

With all of that said, my home center went back to a tighter 46 foot pattern recently so I decided to punch a PhysiX. I wanted to avoid overlap with the Fire so I went with a 50 x 5.5 x 30 layout. With similar 3000 grit surfaces, I find the PhysiX a couple feet longer than my Fire, but the shape is also quite different. I never have to force the PhysiX down the lane, which makes it feel kind of like it’s not an asym core for me (not because it doesn’t hook a lot). It’s quite amazing. This ball will be in my bag for every tournament and league night for quite some time to come!

I think this ball will fit a variety of styles. I have witnessed a 500 plus rev rate guy fall in love with it just the same as a 300 rev rate, speed dominant player. Give one a try - you won’t be disappointed.

Round Holes No Grips Proshop – Ball Review

Ball:  Storm Physix
Layout:  30x4x70
Surface:  3000A
Lane Condition:  THS medium volume
Lane Surface:  Brunswick Avilane

Tester:  Sabrina
Average:  218
Dexterity:  Right
PAP:  4 3/4R, 3/4U
Style:  Speed Dominant, High Tilt

The past month this has been the first ball out of my bag when bowling league. The center changed our oil from Fire to Curve.  I noticed that the front of the lane was a bit tighter and overall the pattern was playing slicker.  I have been using my Intense Fire for a while but was having a hard time the last month kicking out the ten pin. The Physix gives me just what I need for that. When I start off the night at league I am usually standing anywhere between 16-18 and trying to get the ball out to the 7/8 board. This gives me the best angle to the pocket with this ball. Once the lanes start to dry out a bit I can move my feet left throughout the night and this ball still finishes great on the back end. This league is the premier scratch league in our area.  The lanes breakdown quite differently depending on which team you are bowling on a given night.  Most sets I can stay with the PhysiX throughout the night. However, there are times where balling down to my Winner, Hyroad or Intense Fire is necessary.

Overall, I am very impressed with this ball. I like how if I am not able to get my Intense Fire to kick out the ten pin that I can ball up to my Physix and have no problem taking out the ten pin. This ball gives me exactly what I am looking for when the lanes are oily or when there is a puddle in the middle since I am speed dominant and have high tilt. I have a Crux Prime coming in the next few weeks and I am looking forward to seeing how that compares to the Physix on our house shot.

When I first got the ball, I couldn't have been more happy with it. The ball had a stronger backend than my SureLock and delivered multiple 700 series. Now, the ball seems to be dying. The strong reaction on the back end has greatly diminished. Just wondering what every one is doing to avoid this. Please share - thanks.
