Specs. 4 inch pin 2.95 top. Drilled this ball 4 X 5. 1:30 drill. Its is very smooth off the dry backend. It isn't a real big hooking ball. It is a good med. ball. Have used it that much will post more later. It seams like another winner by Storm!

Ball has excellent length especially when comparing it to my Xsame coverstock).  Ball is excellent when there is a lot of back end, it gets me the hockeystick effect that my XXX doesn't give me.  Overall, another great ball from STORM.

I got my Recharge a month ago and haven't really thrown it much because of the way I drilled. It has a 2.5 inch pin and is drilled 3 by 3 leverage, making a more of a skid flip. It gets good distance and strong backend. It offsets my Hot Rod and Power Charge. It took the place of my x-factor. Two weeks ago, I averaged 218 throwing on a short pattern, playing around the outside part of the lane. A week early, I average about 220 playing the deep inside on a wet/dry condition.
Anyone interested a good strong backend ball and looking to off set a ball that rolls early this is the ball to get.

Drilled my Recharde Leverage  3 3/8 x 3 3/8 pin up above finger line. Weight hole on VAL approx 1 1/2 inch from my axis. This ball got real good length with a smooth but very stron backend. Not as flippy as my Depth Charge with the same drilling but very strong none the less. Ball seems like it will be a very good benchmark ball on medium conditions, Have also drilled about 8 other of these for other people with similar results and everyone loves them

Used my Recharge for the first time last night, and what a ball.  I don't know too much about the ball setup, other than the pin is 3" to 3.5" out, top weight was 3.66 oz, and I believe it was drilled like option # 1 on the sheet sent by Storm.  I was subbing for some friends at a house I'd never been to and had 233, 244, 247 for 724, my average is around 190 currently.   The ball did everything I asked it to, if I threw it outside it would come back and smash the pocket.  If I threw it inside it held it's line to smash the pocket.  I had to keep my speed up, but the shot was consistent for all 3 games.  I had expected some breakdown of the lanes and that never happened, so I can't comment on oil carrydown.  Can't wait until league on Monday to try it at my house.

Got this ball 2 days ago, Storm is impressing the crap out of me.  I am a lefty, medium speed, medium revs, and a medium axis of rotation.  I picked this up after Pappy's Pro Shop (Garden City, NY) suggested it to me.  I needed something to compliment my X Factor Ace, something that would get good length and have a great read on the backend.  The Recharge, with it's Pearl Reactive Monsoon Coverstock, was a great choice.  The Pro Shop layed the ball out leverage for me, 3 & 3/4" distance from the pin to my PAP, and the mass bias in the strong position.  I currently bowl in 2 leagues a week, each in a different house.

In the first house, there is light-medium oil from 8 to 8, outside of that completely dry. On this shot on tuesday night, I rolled my first 700 series.  The reaction of this ball was so smooth, predictable, and pin shattering.  I found myself playing about 17 to 7, with an exceptionable backend reaction.  This ball never over-reacted on it's own, only if I hit the outside very early.  It held on the inside and hooked from the outside for a great hit and mix at the pin deck.  In the second house, there is a medium amount of oil in the middle from 7-7, outside of that has a very light layer of oil.  On these lanes I found myself playing tighter on the outside.  At first I was tempted to bag the ball b/c of the outside line I was forced to play.  However, after a few pieces of bowling tape and some more practice, I found the confidence I needed to play that line and had a pretty good night.  Originally I thought I had a huge over/under on the lanes but once I got my feel, I found that a 12 to 5 line was doing the job well.

Usually, I am not a fan of Pearl Reactive balls, but something about watching this ball roll made me feel differently.  Now I have it, and I am very happy with it.  The combination of the coverstock and the symmetrical core make for a beautifully smooth, predictable, and strong reaction on the lanes.  Overall, I give it a 9 out of 10, only b/c it is probably not very useful on heavily oiled patterns.

Drilled this ball with a slight kick out of the CG, drilled right on the edge for Finger weight. Medium to high ball speed. Ball is brilliant. Effortless through the heads. Nice crack at the breakpoint. Nice pin scatter. Shot a 279 with it 2nd week out of the box. I tried something different on this one and drilled the thumbhole under the palm with 3/8th's pitch. Shorten my span by an 1/8th and it seems to come off my hand easily.

Ball reads the oil well. When it comes time, just move a little, find the oil and keep throwing...Makes it's way back to the pocket every time. Only left 1 10 pin thus far (1st shot in 10th on 279) but was more human error. Love this ball and can't wait to see what other Storm products i can make use of....

Top Ball...

I got this ball at Buddies pro shop a while back. I bowled with it in the beginning and was impressed. I tried using it during league nights and it made my thumb uncomfortable. After fixing the thumbslug with a tighter one, the ball feels like an entirely new ball.

I have this in 15 pounds 5 ounces. Pin over ring finger at 1 o'clock and CG at the palm. (approx 5 inch pin). This ball is my new bench mark ball. It allows me to cross a few boards and has an even yet small arc to the pocket. I am bowling on second shift so there is carrydown and the shot is a bit broken down. This ball has enabled me to get strings of as many as 8 strikes, and for me that is uncommon. No other ball has done that for me. This is currently my go to ball and first out of the bag.

The shine on the ball gets a little dull after a while. When that happens, I don't quite make it back to the pocket so I shined it up with some Storm reacta shine and the ball was as good as new. The monsoon coverstock is one of the best I've seen and have experienced in a ball.

i love this ball when the lanes begin to break down after a few games. it has an aggressive yet controlable finish the only problem wit it would be it begins to die down real fast and it doesnt like playing through oilier lane patterns or surfaces.

Picked up a Recharge just recently and believe that it does exactly what it was advertised to do, it goes long and makes a sharp move on the backend leading to very strong carry and pin action. Just put this ball on a condition that will let it clear the heads and hit fresh backends and watch it turn hard. It's a shame that the ball was released during the summer and not during the season when more people would have heard about it and been interested in purchasing one. It could have been a huge seller for Storm. If you are looking for a hard-charging, nice-hitting pearl reactive, pick up a Recharge before they are gone for good.

All I can say is WOW! I just got this ball back from drilling tonight, and shot a 520 (172, 169, 179). This for me is awesome since I've been struggling a bit, and I've been bowling competitively for about 4 months. This ball reads the lanes like an audio book. This thing is hooked on phonics for bowlers with an emphasis on HOOK. Everybody told me you couldn't crank pearl, but I laid this down on the 35 to the 7 with a sharp snap to the pocket pretty consistently. Though I like the smooth arc of my Mass Chaos I was definitely impressed with the pin crushing snap, and hit of the recharge.

So anyway this ball was an awesome early Xmas gift from dear ole mom.

By the way I got this drilled 3 3/8" out from ring finger with a med/fast ball speed with extreme revs.

Just got this ball from the proshop for a very reduced price since it is now discontinued and 2 years old from initial release.  It is 15.3 lbs, 1.98 oz top weight, and 2-2.5 pin out.  I have it boxed polish at 1500 grit.  I have it drilled with High RG with the pin directly above both fingers in the center and the CG directly in the center of the palm.  I wanted it that way to make it go long and hook hard in the end.

It does both very well.  I put a lot of rev's on the ball so I wanted a coverstock that will go through the heads smoothly and have a strong backend to hit hard in the pocket.  This ball does exactly that.  If you have too much speed, the ball will not react.  I currently use it on a medium standard house shot oil pattern on fresh synthetics and the ball out-hooks my other balls because it can roll smoothly through the heads.

I shot 674 tonight and started with a 6 bagger in the first game.  I left just 1 split the whole night.  I give this ball a 10/10 because it fits my game perfectly.

UPDATE: 12-1-06
This ball just might be the best Storm ball I have ever used.  I feel weird saying it too because it is also my cheapest purchased ball in my whole arsenal.  Upon getting the ball I was averaging in the 190's.  Since then I have been in the 210-215 range weekly and consistently whether in league play or with friends.  The ball still reacts like I want and never overshoots the headpin.  I would not recommend this ball to those with monster ball speeds or those that can't put enough revs on it to see it work.  I like this ball the most because when it hits the pocket, it rarely leaves me 9 pins.  I hate how some of the more aggressive balls do that.  I find it being overkill and I will probably look for more mid-range to low-price pearl balls.

bowling style: tweener

pap: last time measured was 3 right and 1 up, i think now its little bit further since i got a roll that tracks little bit higer, i think now i stay more behind the ball

drilling: pin right of the ring and cg stacked, not sure how much would be the pin to pap distance but i think it should be like 3-4 inches

ball surface: left oob surface

lane surface: newly installed brunswick syntethic (sp?)

oil pattern: THS, dry outside 6, backend and outside stripped

since my league play on fresh oil, i usually start playing 10-6, 10-7. then adjust depending on how i feel and how the lane allows me to have a better look. i do have little more hand than most of the bowlers in the house, so i cant start more outside at the beginning.

i normally start with my Equation, but since i high gloss polish it, it starts sooner than before (still something to figure out why) and its not longer smooth and predictable as it was before. Because i cant use the equation for fresh, i decided to start with this ball instead. this ball is very snappy, i used to use this ball to break very near the gutter. once i got control of the roll, this ball is unbelievable! i have couple of boards of error but i do realize when i make bad shots (hey im honest with myself, if i get crappy shots i admit it!)

this ball reads very well the lane since it will jump when i hit dry boards. the backend motion is strong and continuous. i can say that when i got a good release, hitting both the marks, it carried.

I also used this ball on dry lanes, it doesnt have so much energy at the back, but it would still work. i dont think it would work on heavy oil unless playing dead straight with good amount of revs on it.

my rating:
8/10 on dry overall
9/10 on medium overall
n/a on heavy overall (never bowled on one)
9/10 on backend motion
7/10 forgiveness
10/10 on the fragance (im very sensitive to fragance, and love the banana smell on this one)
5/10 on the color, i dont like light purple

hope this helps you to understand the characteristics of this ball

When a house bowler misses the mark, misses the break point and strike, for many ppl its called a wallshot. When a pro does that its call adjustment

When a house bowler gets his finger stuck in the ball and fall on the lanes, for many ppl its called lame bowler. When a pro does that its called the Machuga flop! ha i like this one.
