Hand: Left

Ball Speed: 16-17mph

Ball Weight: 15lbs 2oz

Top: 3.24oz

Pin: 2-2.5

Layout: Pin under middle finger

One word I can say about this ball is….AWESOME! If you used to have a T-Road pearl its really similar to that ball but much more angular in the backend with the new CAM weight block. If you also have a hyroad it has a similar motion but even cleaner through the heads and midlane and just explodes in the backend. When I see my hyroad starting to check up too early on dry outside I can go to the reign and play the same shot and it holds the line a little bit longer before it makes it’s move. It is also a great ball for inside shots as well.

I have a picture of my Reign drilled in my photo album on myspace! If you have any questions about the Reign email me at grichardson7716@aol.com.

stats check profile

layout:
pin over ring cg 1" out from center grip

first off i just got this ball yesterday so havn't been able to throw on very many patterns yet but can tell it's a winner. i'll give a further review once i throw it on some sport patterns

lane conditions:

fresh house shot
this ball really reminds me of the fire up it is super clean threw the heads and makes a very defined move to the pocket and it absolutely crushes the pocket. on a fresh shot for me i start off throwing this ball 7 up 3 and this ball just goes strait and the like it E brakes and left it goes, the problem with this line for me is its too angular and i leave a ton of single pins but i moved inside a bit and started playing 15 to 10 and the ball had a much more desirable action.

beat up less then fresh shot
this is where this ball is going to shine much like the fired up did the clean move threw the heads helps it hold energy until it lets loose and boy does it. was able to get as far inside as i wanted with this ball and it always got back. the pair of lanes i was on had close to 50 games on it threwout the day prior to me throwing this ball on them. i started off playing 28 to 7 and was able to hold this line for nearly 2 full games till it started to hook up. normally i would have to change balls or move infront of the gutter at this point but i actually moved 4 boards right and played a tighter line and was back into the pocket.

opinion:
this ball is going to be another one of them balls that everyone loves but probably wont get the recongnition it deserves. this ball is great on house patterns, it has a very high shelf appeal to it also.

The NEW Storm Reign is an unbelievable addition to the current storm line.  The C.A.M core wrapped with the proven R2S Pearl cover is a WINNER!!!  I drilled mine with a 4 3/4 x 3 3/4 with the pin under my bridge with a hole straight across.  The Reign compliments the Hyroad perfectly.  It gives you that extra couple of feet of push when the hyroad may read the midlane a lil to strongly.  It is super clean and continuous through the pins.  The Reign reminds me of the T Road Pearl with that similar type of motion but much more angular at the spot.  Be on the lookout for tons of honor scores and tournament victories with this new release.  Bowl Up A Storm!!!

Another great addition from storm.  Drilled 5"pin to pap x 3.5" cg with 4"pin height.  The purpose of this ball was to get length and control for tighter conditions (not to be confused with OILY conditions though.)  This ball actually replaces a pin up energy that I've been having trouble fine tuning, but must say that the Reign became a perfect replacement.  Very smooth and super clean length through the first 30+ feet, with a predictable and heavy hitting finish.  First league night with it shot games of 276 245 300, moving a total of 2 boards the whole night, only playin around 13 at dots to about 11/10 at arrows on a slightly modified house pattern that was probably near 38 - 40 feet in length(but a little sloppy).  Two of my energy's were actually having a harder time reading the pattern consistantly, but tightening up a little with the Reign and the lane seemed to be as open as you could ever wish.  Will be posting vids very soon.

Well let me start by saying that I was very ready for a new core, I love the
cores they have now but was anxiously waiting something for a different look.
I received my Reign a few weeks ago and have been using a bunch of different cover
prep on it.  I drilled it 5.5 by 55 and hit the surface to 2000 abralon to kind of smooth out the big backend reaction that was coming with this drill.

I have used it in league play and one other house which was a shorter tournament pattern.  Our house shot is slick and they rarely ever double strip the place ( like once a year) so it plays pretty tight.  It just doesnt start up soon enough at my home house until the 3rd game (2nd shift as well) so I dont use it much there.  But at the tourney I bowled it was a whole new world with that ball.  I could get in and really let loose with it and it had such a strong move (even at 2000) I could use it on the fresh till the end of qualifying.  After 6 games it didnt show an ounce of rollout and just hit the pins with such authority.  This new core is gonna be it.  If your looking for that equipment that just carries and lets you slide with some of those questionable shots then I would recommend this for you.  Please bring on the solid Storm!!

This new Reign has more hook than I expected! I was afraid it would be too clean with the r2s pearl cover - I have medium revs, speed and low axis tilt - so I did a strong layout, 4 and 1/8 pin to PAP, under, and 3½ CG, 4" Mass Bias (unmarked) placement, @ 75 degrees. No Hole. Tried the new ball on slightly broken down house shot. I was playing between 14-16 at arrows and 6-5 at break. I went high, high, kept opening my angles and could not throw it in the gutter or keep it wide of pocket as far inside as 22-23 out to 5. Really amazed at the recovery of this ball. Everything was getting to the pocket even when trying not to strike. I've drilled up LOTS of different bowling balls the past 5 years (30-50 a year) and was happily surprised at how much this ball responded to friction. Definitely had more midlane than a Fast. Similar response off friction, but the Reign alot more so. This new weight block definitely is nice, most importantly, the carry as also way above average. If you are a player who needs their ball to respond more quickly to friction due to lack of axis tilt, you will really enjoy this ball. Don't be afraid to drill it strong and flippy. For players with high axis rotation and rev rates I would use weaker pins and weight holes to tame/smooth out the ball reaction some, and maybe strip some of the polish. My results were w the out of box finish. I normally don't post reviews but you should have at least one of these in the bag!

The new Storm REIGN! Wow!!!!!!!! The name says it all. You will reign over the competition with this ball. Similar, to the T-road pearl, but much more reaction on the backend. The R2S pearl cover combined with the new C.A.M. weight block, makes for an ultra dynamic bowling ball. The reaction off the break is simply awesome. Drilled with the pin 3-3/8 from my PAP and the Mass Bias halfway between my ball track and my PAL. I used this for league on a fresh house pattern playing  27 to 15. When the lanes broke down I was able to get inside and circle the lane. First game out the box was a 278. The new Storm Reign simply destroyed the pins. The carry was great. Watching this ball react, it's like a Fired Up on steroids. You can't go wrong with adding this ball to your arsenal. Go bowl up a Storm.

I drilled a pro-pin Reign a few weeks ago, and finally feel I have enough time on the lanes to give an honest review. First off, I drilled the Reign pin and cg stacked on my grip, and kept it at box finish. The first chance I had to use the ball was on Cheetah, last years 36 foot edition. I was able to get the ball to the spot very easily, but could not keep it from leaving the 2-4-7. I have a pin up/ strong Virtual Energy that I was using to compare to. The VE and the Reign both read the fronts the same, but the VE was more controllable at the breakpoint. this is one of the reasons I drilled a pro pin ball, to have more down lane motion. It didn't seem to matter how deep I got with the Reign, it still went high. The next time I used it, was on our house condition, the next morning left overs. The pattern had play on it, and was settled down at this point. This center is the place that I drilled the first Natural for, so I wasn't expecting too much from the ball. To my surprise, I was able to get in deep, fourth arrow out to 5 board, and hook most of the lane, without any lose of hitting power. The ball just kept coming from off the spot! I then got a chance to use it during practice session at the regional in Lancaster, PA, bowling on Shark. I was able to get to the pocket playing deep in side, but getting the seven out was an inconsistent task. I did try hitting it with a little surface, all it did was make for an earlier reaction with the same results. A slightly stronger drilling would work to get the ball to face up better on this pattern. I used the ball on the house shot at a different center (DBA surface). Here, the ball was just too strong in the backend, and after moving in deep, there was just too much oil in the middle of the lane to yield a consistent reaction. The last pattern I used the ball on was Scorpion, the new edition. This ball picked up in the backend better than everything else in the bag. I was able to stay in the middle of the lane with it, but the heads dried up too fast, and I wasn't rolling the ball consistently enough to try and stay in with it, and fight the transition. I switched to a pin under Special Agent, and went up and in the last game.
After the testing of this ball, I have come to the conclusion that this ball will give me the reaction I drilled it for. It will cover alot of boards, and allow me to open up the backend when I need to get deep, and the pattern is of a moderate length. I probably will not see this that often, but it will be great to finally have that piece in the bag that I have been lacking.
The Reign is the complete opposite of the Natural. It is all about opening up the backend with this ball. I only wish I had this ball at the open this year, as it would have given me that backend continuation that I needed as I had to get deep on that pattern.

As a side note, I drilled one of these up for a right hander who likes to play the lanes down and in, with not much axis rotation, and he absolutely loves it! In fact, he wants to order another one and keep at home, if this on should ever get lost or chewed up by a pin machine.

The Reign surprised me a great deal. Storm claims it to be a mid range ball in their thunder line up but I found it to be much stronger than my Hy-Road. The core of this ball matches really well with the cover-stock to create a great ball reaction at the back end part of the lane. The ball was very clean through the heads and had a fantastic amount of reaction in the back end. What really surprised me was its ability to react in heavy oil conditions. Often when I found myself getting too much early roll from my Virtual Energy, I dropped down to the Reign and was able to continue throwing the same line. Overall an excellent ball.

This was my first storm ball in close to a year and it has some great late break movement which I love. I feel as though I can through this ball on any lane condition and always strike. I used this ball fresh out the box in a Tournament in Delaware and was having a lot of success. You can definitely expect me to buy another reign and be a continued supporter of storm.

16# - 2.3 top - 2.25” pin
Layout:
pin on the centerline under the bridge w/ cg kicked 20°

This ball is filled with 100% testosterone it is PURE-D muscle!

I am on week 2 of Reign ownership and it’s been a fun 12 game ride. For those of you who get mesmerized by numbers, here you go! This ball has posted five 10+ strike games including last night going back to back 279’s (10 pin – my fault & a hard 9 pin).

At the price point this ball sells for, you are grabbing a bargain. Compared to some of the "skid-flip" predecessors like the Thunder Road Pearl, T-Road pearl, Fired Up & Fast the difference I see is how it commands respect in the midlane. The read this ball makes in the midlane does not slow down the punch it packs on the backends. It handles oil and the transition to the dry better than so many other balls past and present designed to make a hockey stick shape off of the break point. The other thing that stands is how the bottoms of the pins get kicked out which helps a bowlers carry. Don’t get me wrong, I have seen the headpin airmail itself from the left wall to the right wall but for the most part the pins seem to stay down.

I will have a second one soon!!!

If you listen close, you will hear the pins sounding like Missy Elliott, “I cannot stand the 'Reign'”

My first storm ball. I wanted something different than an ebonite. WOW this ball is just like the videos show, even though I dont throw the ball completely like te videos
Had the pin place above the fingers, would like to try the pin kicked out to the right, but that will make it stronger. We have a new oil pattern on the lanes, the cheeta pattern is what one of my friends said it was. Heavier oil than I am used to, but the ball cuts through it. Even when the lanes break down I still use the ball. This is an amazing ball. But I shouldn't have bought it from the proshop since it can be bought on the internet for 115 dollars.

LOVE this ball first off... Now for the specs--- A basic 4x4 drilling with nothing fancy added, pin above my ring finger about 1 inch. Longer then my NOMAD solid, but kicks butt in the back end. 300-788 first night with it, then 297-786(oops-- actually had someone walk up on me on the lane left of me, he honestly said to me he had no clue that I was going for a 300 game and he missed me.. PS... hard to miss me I weigh 290lbs). The ball reminds me alot of my old FIRED UP that I used several years ago. Just strong off of the break point, not sharp like the typical pearl coverstock balls. Good Luck to all that reads this review.

Extremely impressed with the this ball by Storm, layed it out 35 4" 25 and on SPL's it is a monster. I have from 15 to the 2 board and have recovery that a cranker would have and I am more of a tweener, I have never had a ball move this much on the back end out of the box.
