I've had mine a months, 5X3 1" buffer, weight hole.

It's the best midlane ball I've ever had. It reads like no other ball. It's carry is way above average.

Why this ball is a must in every bag - it's also the most versatile ball I've had. I've cashed in 3 tournaments including a non THS with this ball playing from 5th arrow to up the boards at 7. I also have a 300 and a 787 with it.

And all in box condition. The 1500 grit with polish is perfect. I do not anticipate changing the surface. It can be a bit jumpy on a fresh shot so I have to be carefully, but during transition, I just throw it with confidence and never have seen it wiggle once with carrydown.

I have put 2nd Dimensions in 6 of my students and one has incresed his average 4 pins to just over 200, not an easy easy task this late in the season. I've seen bowlers in my area with ball speeds of 13mph on the low end and 20mph on the high end and all have noticed dramatic looks and reacts.

What can I say? It's a great ball! Actually my 1st Storm ball and I love it! Pin next to ring, Cg under pin, slightly towards center grip.

Shot 235 out of the box and have since shot many 220-250 games with EASE. Ball is really clean through the heads and rolls quite heavy, but always in control. If I yank it left, it'll still hold. If I miss target right, it'll still come back...usually leaving a 4-pin. Doesn't over react for me, which is very important. Pin carry is strong and sends pins all over the place, however I still managed to miss two 5-pins even with tomahawk messengers, that I have no clue haha.

I only regret not giving Storm a try a lot earlier. Definitely won't be my last Storm ball. Cheers.

Lay Out: 4.5" from PAP at 45* PAP angle and 50* VAL angle. The pin ended up in my ring finger. I put a 7/8" - 2" deep weight hole on my VAL.

Surface: I used it box, then 2000abr by hand, then 4000abr by hand.

Purpose: I didn't have a purpose, but was more drilling something to try to compliment a Street Rod solid that stops on the back.

Initial Observations: I have thrown this on our house shot on Pro Anvillane and also in a couple of PBA regionals and one PBA National TQR. The TQR was alternating between Viper and Scorpion and the regional was on Scorpion on Pro Anvillane. On the house shots, the ball let me get right of the puddle in the friction more. I was able to keep on the edge of the friction and migrate left when needed. The minute I pinged a 10 pin, I just moved 2/1 or 3/2 left depending on how weak it hit the pocket. When the lanes started to burn, I could keep tweeking left and keep hitting the hole. On the PBA shots especially Scorpion, the pin under layout was slower off the corner and I left a lot of corners. This is a limitation of my game and release and not indicitive of the ball.

Final thoughts: With this layout, I get a controlled reaction in the mid lane and a slower response off the friction. I think I would be better off drilling a complimentary one that is pin higher with a stronger pin position like 4". This should give it the "ummph" to get around the corner more on patterns like Scorpion and Chameleon where surface and lane cross forces you left of 20.

Additional Thoughts: I had to really work on the surface with this control layout to find a happy medium. What has been working the best for me is 4000abr by hand. Storm's polished 1500 grit can be very touchy for my game and it is best for me to knock it off the surface before I even throw a ball down the lane. Once I found the correct surface for this layout, this ball got REAL GOOD on the house patterns.

The Second Dimension is an awesome ball. It is really clean through the front, strong in the midlane and has a hard continuous arc on the backend. I tried this ball for the first time on AMF lanes which has a THS which is usually oiled 8 to 8 and dry 8 and out but this is after a 4 man league. The only shot that made this ball look decent was deep inside and out to the dry. THe way this ball rolled was very impressive. It does remind me of the Cell from Rotogrip because of the continuous motion.

The true test was at Nationals in Las Vegas. Believe it or not this was the ball i used in all of the events most of the time. With the arching continous reacton, it was perfect. The ball got down lane with ease on the 40 ft pattern and when it hit the right spot on the backend, the carry was great.

Not only was this ball amazing at Nationals, it was the best thing at the Bowling This Month Tournament which puts out a 40ft one to one flat shot. This ball gave me the strong roll in the mids and tame backend i needed. It helped me get my best finish which is on the cashing board so far.

I am definitely going to get another one with a high pin over the fingers.


Storm has done it again. I won't be surprise if this ball in included in one of the categories for ball of the year.

Ball is a two finger drilled ball. Drilled 5 5/8 x 4 5/8 with the pin 3" above my bridge. Surface is at 2000 abralon. This ball is amazing on my pbax shark. Started playing straight on the outside and after two games was quickly playing 5 boards inside of everyone on the pattern. Very strong smooth roll with this layout and surface. Great job storm. Im a lefty Tweener, with a med-high track, and high ball speed.  I have my Second Dimension drilled Pin under Middle finder, and cg in the center of the palm.  I believe the R2X Pearl w/ E.T.M coverstocked matched up with continuum core says enough.  This ball can turn on the back-end very hard, yet with the slight of hand position you can gain excellent control of that backend and be able to play just about any line the lanes are giving you.  The versatility this balls gives you once your on game 5, game 6 ect.. to get through the heads without burning up any of its energy is a valueable asset to have in any collegiate, tournament, or league bowlers arsenal.

I drilled this ball up about 2 or 3 months ago and have not been able to keep my hands off of it since. This is the go-to ball for me. I always use this in league and in tournaments no matter what condition. I drilled for control with a dual angle layout 65x3 1/2x65 and got exactly what I asked for. I feel the most comfortable throwing this ball because I can read the ball reaction so well. It transitions very well and gives a predictable read even with the oob surface. I didnt have to change anything on this ball with the surface. I can make the ball do different things with my hand such as speed, tilt, rev rate, the works. This is a ball I always have in my bag, and hope to get another one soon. Thank you Storm for the best ball of my bowling career so far! Even though I have only been bowling for about 2 and a half years. I have shot so well with this ball, and I don't think people expect half of the stuff I have accomplished with this ball from a youth bowler. I hope to be on staff someday, but for now I will always throw only Storm and Roto Grip!!!
