Title: Shift
Post by: admin on December 31, 1969, 06:00:00 PM
The Shiftâ„¢ is more than just the first release in our new Premier Line, it is our finest engineering achievement. The innovative Shape-Lockâ„¢ asymmetrical core system is encased within the newly formulated R2Sâ„¢ Pearl Particle coverstock. When combined, the Shiftâ„¢ flies through the heads, produces excellent mid-lane transition and finally makes a massive shift to the pocket.

OK guys the skinny on this ball is this.High RG asymetric new core and such from storm. This is a very strong pearl particle. With the Layout I choose the ball is a touch longer than my Special Agent.I picked the layout to compliment the Special. This ball if you have thrown the domination you will love this ball. The SHIFT will remind you of the domination the big difference is it will handle volume MUCH better than the domination did.For me this ball gets some pretty good length and makes a very hard/sudden move on the backend of the lane. This ball is a Winner!!!If you need a piece to get down the lane and change direction in a hurry even on some volume this is the piece for you!!!!!

Layout used
pin 21/2 to 3
top weight 1.5
box finish
thumb 2 1/2 left of key using a 5 x 5 x 5 drilling with a 2" buffer from the pin.

The shift got through the heads with ease reading the midlane prior to a strong sudden move to the pocket. The best Particle Pearl on the market and a great addition to the Storm R2S coverstock family.

Patterns used on:

hpl 9000 oil to 35' buff to 40
guardian/ wood oil to 38' buff to 45

The most recent ball that i've purchased is the "shift" by storm. By far the best ball i've ever thrown! nice and smooth into mid lane, and has an excellent roll on the back end. The R2S pearl coverstock is a sure deal. Another ball that has this coverstock is the "special agent", but that ball has a dull surface. The "shift" is alot more smooth, and with the pearl partical, it opens up the back end alot better, and has a nice "shift" towards the target...it seems to always find the pocket. A very good buy if your someone looking for a smooth agressive ball.

This is my first review.

Weight: 15#
Pin: 2.5-3"
Top weight: 2.5oz

I drilled this ball 4x4 with a 2 1/2" pin buffer. Using on old wood lanes with the standerd brunswick house shot 37' buffed to 40'. I love this ball it reminds me of my Domination but it just hooks up a tick sooner. The ball hits like a freight train. I can actually play a coulpe of diffrent lines with it on the same shot. It is very smooth through the heads and the mids and stores alot of energy for the back end. The ball is not really affected by carry down until the lane really dries out. When the lane dried up I used my domination which is drilled alittle bit less aggresive, the two balls really worked great on the lane together. This is anwsome ball great job Storm. Keep them coming.

Ball had a 3" pin, drilled it like Layout #1 on Storms key drilling sheet, pin 4-3/4" from PAP. MB key 5" from PAP. No balance hole needed. Cover is OOB

My stats:
PAP 5-3/4"
Tweener Style
Speed 15-16MPH
Revs - Not sure, never measured them but I would classify myself as a medium rev player

The lanes had not been touched since the night before. There were 2 leagues that played on them before I got to them. Heads were fried and there was a fair amount of carry-down.

The Shift cleared the heads perfectly and made a VERY smooth arc to the pocket.

This ball had no problems making it to the pocket throwing from about 20 out to anywhere between 5 - 15. Outside 5 and it came diving back in, inside 15 and it crossed. Lane conditions had a lot to do with it, but this layout is described as being very forgiving and from what I saw, I would agree.

Moved over and tried throwing 25 to 15 and it didn't handle the carry down very well and skidded too far. It started to come back, but didn't start early enough to make it.

I've thrown this ball twice in leagues with THS laid out. One night seemed to be a touch heavier than the other, but this ball reacted pretty much the same on both.

With fresh heads and dry back ends, this ball is an absolute monster. It clears the heads very well, carries through the midlane and makes a very sharp turn to the pins. The reaction is different than a normal skid/flip reaction, the ball actually seems to change direction and drive through the pins.

By about the 5th frame, there is enough carry down to calm this ball down a little. That is where I feel this ball really shines. It handles carry down effortlessly. I was standing with my left foot on about 25 (I'm a righty), throwing from 15-20 out to about 5-10. I played this line the entire night which was pretty amazing since we were against team "no thumb".

This ball has more area than any ball I've ever thrown. I know a lot of that has to do with the oil pattern on the lane, but this ball is VERY forgiving when you miss your mark. The biggest problem I have is that with my slower speed (15-16MPH), if I go outside 5, this ball comes diving back in and I end up crossing.

This ball seems to noticeably carry more 10 pins than any other ball I've thrown. I'm not sure if it just hits harder or if it's the entry angle or what, all I know is the White Dot has seen less action since getting this ball.

Bottom Line, this is the happiest I've been with any ball I've ever purchased. I usually have to screw around with the surface and I still don't get the reaction I'm looking for. This ball out of the box has been great. I am considering selling off my heavy oil ball for another one of these with either the sport or tournament layout. For those of you that read my original post you know that I was hesitant to go back to Storm, given my previous experience. I am happy to say that Storm has definitely come through and impressed me with this ball. I've already ordered one for the wife! If you're lucky enough to match up with this ball, I would highly recommend it.

Got ball drilled today (March 2, 2007) by Mike Miller at Ten Pins and More in Rio Rancho, NM. Before drilling ball was 15lbs. 3 oz. with 2.52 oz of TW and a 4.0" Pin. Ball was drilled with the Pin above the ring finger with the CG and Key kicked out right with no weight hole. Ball has excellent midlane recovery and it's alot more aggressive on the backend on my typical house pattern(38" buffed to 45" synthetic using CONTROL oil)then I was expecting. In it's current condition (OOB-Polished)it is currently about 4 boards stronger then my Domination(3.75" pin above fingers and Polished with a similar lay-out). I don't know what else to say other than the pin reaction is much livelier than anything else in my arsenal.

Overall, another excellent ball from Storm, I will post another review later on after the cover tames down a bit, coverstock experimenting or more comparison to other balls in my arsenal.

OK hello guys I am 15 years old and I got the shift Last night on the second of march. The pin under the fingers and I was ready to bowl with it the next day in league. The ball is very smooth down the lane. I shot 300, 247, and 224. That was my first 300 in junior league. I only had the ball a day. It is very strong on the backend and is very smooth all the way down. VERY great ball.

Recently picked up a 16# Shift (3/8/07) from Buddies Pro Shop thanks to Chris and Tim for laying it out and drilling it.

3" pin 2.5 oz top weight undrilled

Coverstock: 1500 polished (OOB)

Layout:
http://img100.imageshack.us/my.php?image=layoutbq3.jpg

-0-0
--o-
-------CG-PAP (4 1/4 over 3/4 up, I think)
----
--O----MB
Layout #1 (Ring finger 3" Deep 3/4" x-hole 3" deep on PAP)

16.5 MPH with high revs playing 22-6 45º rotation on 5 year old Brunswick Pro Anvillane with a medium oiled 2nd shift THS

Ball was clean through the midlane and made a quick flip and having good continuation through the pins, after about the 5th game I had some pretty heavy carrydown, but the ball still bit through it like a clean backend. I could miss up to 5 boards right at the breakpoint and still have it hit flush, though it doesn't have too much forgiveness for missing left, roughly 2 boards. This drill made the ball very forgiving of little mistakes, though it gets too strong once the pattern transitions and the track area starts to dry out. I had no problem getting it to recover lofting the gutter cap and having it cross 6th arrow, though I did lose a notable amount of carry playing so deep. All in all great ball for a true Medium oiled house shot.

Addition 3/20/07: Got to throw this on old wood lanes with 7 (no that isn't a typo) people playing the track area, I had a great look through practice, but about halfway through the first game the ball was turning dead left as soon as it hit the track. If you ask me, unless you can really flatten your hand just put it back in the bag when track starts to get blown out.

Okay, I've had this for a couple of weeks now, so I'm going to do an initial review:

Stats:
PAP: 4 1/2" over, 1" up
Axis Tilt: 19 degrees
Axis rotation: usually near 30
RPMs: 175-200
Speed: 12-14 mph (Qubica- measures at pin deck)

First up, I'll talk about the drill.  I have an original X Factor that my coach did not like the drill, it tended to give up on a lot of conditions, and he felt it didn't come off the dry strong enough.  I asked about getting one of these, and he thought it was a good idea.  We went with a drill like this:

--o-o---
---'----
------X-
---O----"

For me, this put the pin 4 1/2" from my axis and the key (MB) was slightly past my VAL.  The center of gravity is no longer there because we put the weight hole right on top.  We used a massive weight hole for this layout, and left it in box condition. (1500 polished)

Hook Potential:
For a guy like me with a lower rev rate, I personally love what they Shift gives me.  I got this as a ball to open up the lanes, and it certainly allows me to do so.  If I really get on us and try and get around it more with a little more rev rate/rotation, I can get in on some of the deeper lines.  However, if I up the speed a bit and play more up the back of the ball, it responds very well, although sometimes it is a bit too aggressive to do so.  Overall, I think it is a good option for strokers looking to open up the lane, or for higher rev players who are looker for something they can go deeper with.

-8/10 (1 low-10 high)

Angularity:
While it can be calmed down, by no means is this a rolly ball in my opinion.  It stores a lot of energy for the back end, and unleashes it when it gets there.  It is one of the more angular balls out there, but if you drill it up to be smoother and more controlled, you can get your hand behind it and really see more of an arc out of the Shift.  It really depends on what your looking for, but on medium conditions, it tends to generate some more angle.  I find it helpful in get the corner pins out when I want to move inside since I don't have enough hand to do so a lot of the time.

-8/10 (1 rolly-10 angular)

Length:
Okay, this was one of the most important things that I was looking for, and I must say, I was not disappointed.  It gets down the lane nicely, which I was having trouble with since I am a slower bowler.  For me, it reads the middle of the lane nicely which really allows it to get the power and hook into the back end that I was looking for.  I did notice that it did start to get a little squirty on some heavier conditions and you tended to need to keep the ball in the middle on shorter/lighter patterns after a couple of games to get it down lane.  I think the cover really does the intended job here, it gets down nicely, and then grabs the lane when it finds friction.

7/10 (1 early- 10 late)

Versatility:
-In my opinion, this is the thing I like most about the Shift.  I can really do a lot of things with it.  However, you will need to trust the ball a little, which I will explain in a bit.  I've played strike lines on a medium condition anywhere from straight up the 6 board to playing 21  with my feet to 10 at release on the same pattern.  However, several times while using the Shift, I didn't allow it to turn the corner because I didn't believe I could, which I found out cost me a lot of pins later on when I moved.  The ball responds very well to changes in hand position for me.  I would advise getting this if you are looking for something stronger that can get you a couple of different angles.  I few little adjustments and you can play a lot of places with the shift.

9/10 (1 less versatile-10 more versatile)

Overall, I found the Shift to be great.  I would recommend it to any strokers who want to open up the lane, or higher rev players looking for a ball that will get through the heads but be consistent at the break point.  I'll try and get some pictures of it and the layout up later.

Thanks to Rob Herman at 10 in the Pin for drilling and laying it out!

The Shift cleared the heads perfectly
With fresh heads and dry back ends, this ball is an absolute monster.
It clears the heads very well, carries through the midlane and makes a very sharp turn to the pins.
Gets thru the heads with ease and has a strong predictable backend
A lot of pearls or particle tend to skate and hang.
This ball is easy to adjust to, doesn't have a dramatic change
Don’t be fooled.
The Shift definitely needs oil to work right. The breakpoint is not an angular hook,
It is a radical arc to the pocket,
When entering the pocket hits  there’s are pins left on the deck searching for left overs.
Reaction is different than a normal skid/flip reaction, the ball actually seems to change direction and drive through the pins
(The ole Skid, roll, hook form back in  the day as things are quoted today)
This ball is amazing! The best pearl particle made
An Addition to you line-up of winner Way to go STORM!!!!!

I have had this for about 3 weeks. Wanted something a little stronger at the backends than my Special Agent. Got just what I asked for. Drilled #2 on Storms sheet (Max Flare). A different drilling than normal for me because I like arc drillings, but I wanted something for a little carrydown. One warning: You need to know when to put this one away. It needs some oil down lane, i.e. longer or heavier patterns. Doesn't really jump off the spot as much as it makes a pronounced hard arc and never stops. The one center I bowl at uses a little longer pattern than most places albeit lighter volume. The Shift work great for the first game & 1/2 than I can switch to my polished special and not move. Another center only strips once a week and I have problems later in the week. The Shift solved that problem. Another great arsenal ball from Storm. Great on carry down and if you like to cover a lot of boards on fresh.

If you blame the lane conditions for your bad scores, then you had better thank them for your good ones!!

again friends ball on fresh ths..ball surface was taken to 4000 abralon with factory finish polish...this ball was un believably smooth...i could stand right and play anywhere from 10 out and the ball never read the dry and believe me it was there, our house from 8 out is un playable unless its plastic out there..anyway the ball was very nice, i dont have a ball in my bag that would allow me to play this part of the lane this easily...i love a ball i dont have to fight to get it down the lane to the spot...got it back out after our second shift and it was still that nice, i threw the total nv all night moving left chasing the oil(dont get me wrong i like standing left and throwing right shot ), i was able to move back to where i started the night and strike there also, ball glides through heads....sweeeet...

I'm not a real bowling lingo savvy guy but I can tell you a bit about what this ball did for me.  I drilled it to the #1 on the Storm drill sheet and played the ball down and in right over the first arrow on the right.  The ball glided very smoothly with little effort and hit the pocket like a freight train.  Everything was kept as it was right out of the box as far as the coverstock goes.  Very very impressed with what this ball did.  I highly recommend.

had this ball drilled with the pin above the ring finger, cg out to the right and mass bias to the right of the thumb. drilled for length and strong back end.

Hit: 10/10. This ball hits like it weighs 30 pounds. I've bowled 6 games with the shift so far and i haven't left any weak 10s or pocket splits. even if you throw a bad shot, you will get enough pin action to carry a strike or leave and easy spare.

Length: 8/10. the shift gets down the lane very easily, even when the lanes are starting to dry up you wont have a problem getting this ball down the lane. also, the shift does not over react if you get it into the dry to early, it does a great job of reading the lane.

Hook: 10/10. I usually play 2nd arrow on a fresh shot, but today when i bowled with the shift on a fresh shot i had to play in between 3rd and 4th.

Overall: 9.5/10. This ball has a perfect combination of length and hook. unless you bowl in an extrememly dry house, this ball is perfect for you. the only thing i dont like about this ball is if you miss left (i am right handed), its hard to carry brooklyn strikes.

Excelent Ball.
Yesterday I play my first 3 lines with STORM SHIFT.
We have a very strong oil pattern 39 feet (league pattern).

My first 3 games are 214-235-266
I only have 3 words for SHIFT "LOOOOOOTTTTTT HOOOOOOOOOK"

Bought this ball after seeing PDW use it on TV.

First Storm ball. I am very pleased with the reaction with this ball.
 Not a heavy oil ball.
Medium to firm speed allowing for energy to be stored and released with this ball.

Let this ball do the work. Great carry, wonderful ball reaction.

I'm a right-handed 17mph tweener.  Bought this ball for Reno, primarily 2nd shift, but wanted something I could use on some of the other 51 weeks.  Ball is OOB finish, 3 in pin drilled pin slightly up, MB just right of the thumbhole.  First time out right after drilling was on a burnt up, carried-down house shot.  Still managed to clear the heads, but only after some work and a good bit of side roll.  Back end was like most other balls on a fresh shot.

Second time out was on a Cheetah pattern and the ball just killed like it was a THS.  Threw a few shots on a Shark pattern--this is not a heavy oil ball.

Third time out was on a fresh house shot (38 feet 7 to 7) and for that, this ball is almost too much.  Goes long and just flat turns left.  Lay down on 25 out to 5 at 45 feet (if not farther) and it's left turn, Clyde.  Carry is awesome.  It's almost impossible for me to throw this thing too hard, but I can get it to turn too late and leave ten pins if I try .

Whether the ball turns out to be the bomb in Reno remains to be seen.  But for the other 51 weeks, it's awesome.

Med speed and high forward revs. I drilled this ball with the pin, cg, and mass bias in line stacked right of ring a little. It is a very early and strong ball. It needs oil in front badly or it doesn't carry. This is an ideal ball on a fresh league shot on synthetic lanes because wood wont hold up long enough. I just won a JBT with it though so you can watch the video at jbtsw.com 4 seasons video. I Recommend this ball to all tournament travelers to have in the bag but if your a 1-2 ball a year guy I would go with a med. ball like a troad pearl or something in the fire series.

It is just a monster of a ball. Haven't done much wrong with this ball. Can play many different lines, and still finishes hard. Goes real long and just snaps at the end. Just a vicious ball on a THS. And to the guy below me, give me a break it goes straight, do you realize what pattern you are bowling on. I bet with the amount of revs your son gets on the ball hes not accurate at all, probably hit outside of 10 and are so used to it roaring back, not on that shot. I bet if he just played the right line, it would have hooked fine. Plus an aggressive drilling is not always going to produce more hook, the ball will probably roll out early with that many revs as you say. Don't blame it on the ball, blame it on the bowler.

The Shift I drilled has a three inch pin and 2 3/4oz top weight. My PAP is 4 3/4" out and 7/8 up. I drilled this ball with the 5x3 layout with the pin 5" from my PAP and the mass bias 3" from my PAP.

The Storm Shift is a good ball to have if you bowl on a lot of house shots and fresh oil patterns. I have found it to be very clean through the heads, reads the midlane well and makes a strong move on the backend. Performs really well for about the first three games but when the pattern starts to break down the ball starts to squirt a little in the carry down and you can end up with some flat 10's. Overall a really good ball and one of our top sellers.

My Shift was drilled a couple of months ago so I feel that I can give a good review based on the amount of games and conditions that I have used it. The Shift clears the heads a lot easier than most pearl particles that I have experienced, makes a smooth mid-lane transition, and a solid and strong backend motion. I have seen that it is extremely versatile, it is a ball that is willing to be thrown up the boards with little hand or in with more side turn. I would say that the ball is slightly better and easier to read when you turn it harder. The ball is at its best when the pattern is fresh, it handles carrydown okay but not as well as some other balls. I like to go to mine when my Special Agent or Diablo burns up too early and won't make the hill on the back or when my Agents or T-Road Pearl skate through the heads too long and won't make the hill. Like most particles however, the ball needs to be kept more on line as it tends to not make it back when missed to the outside. Overall, another versatile release from Storm.

I just got my Shift I'm LH and used the #1 layout in their drill guide booklet. Ball clears the heads easy, with a very nice arcing motion to the pocket. Works great in the oil( med oil). Moved into 4th arrow& still Xing at will. Had very nice recovery from way inside. Great carry, even inside. no over/under reaction. no rollout just AWSOME carry!!!!!!!!!

See stats for profile.

Lay Out: 5" from PAP (pin up 1 1/2" over fingers), 75 deg angle. Small wt hole on the axis.

Surface: Box.

Purpose: To give myself a arsenal ball that I could use on medium to slightly longer oil/higher volume patterns.

Observations: I have thrown this on several of our PBA Experience league conditions mainly the Viper, Chameleon, and Scorpion. I have also thrown this on the regional Cheetah on Brunswick Pro Anvilane surfaces. This ball gets back pretty consistantly for me on the league PBA shots. Our center seems to not have as much friction downlane and this ball lets me stay online and play the back end hook into the hole. On the league Viper shot, I was able to get area where people were catching a hang spot. On the regional Cheetah, I was able to go to a flatter hand position and pick my speed up and create some area to the left of board 5-6 at the breakpoint. I never tried this one on our version of Shark as it just kicked too long in the heads during practice on this pattern.

Final thoughts: On the correct patterns, this ball is money. Those patterns being ones where the ball can get down the lane and not jerk into the pocket on the back. Too much jerk = too many rope/smash back row single pin leaves. This ball has been gold for me on about 38-41 foot patterns, but with the right release and ball speed could work on slightly shorter patterns in the 35-36 range. It didn't seem to make the turn on anything longer than 41 feet and that is due to the factory surface of 1500 grit/polish which Storm probably did to keep the early burn of the particle under control.

Storm nailed it on this ball, as this was the release that brought more Storm balls back into my arsenal.

I bought my Shift drilled it stacked leverage. I'm right handed , ball speed 17.5 to 18 mph would call myself a croker between cranker and stroker. Using ball on regular medium oil house shot. Haven't got to use this ball on tournament shots yet but I think this ball is extremely over rated it does no sudden shift to the pocket it just gradually makes it way there if this is storm's best skid snap ball then they need to do more studying. I have tried 2000 polish 1200 polish and also 500 wet sand with Brunswick polish and 400 sanded did not like this ball for the money with any surface also have a Storm Jolt Solid drilled the same with 1500 polish it out hits the shift and also makes a bigger move to the pocket, and don't forget jolt is about cheaper    $75.00.

The Shift is an alright ball. I dont think its for heavy oil at all. It is a nice ball for a house shot(of course)and shorter patterns ( you might could find a line for Scorpion too). Out of the box it is very smooth with a controlled back end. It doesnt really jump off the dry like most pearls do. It as great length with smooth back ends. Good hitting power over all good ball.

I love the shift. As a newbish comeback player I am suprised about what happend with both the new syntetic lanes and the balls. When I played for like 15 years ago in junior leage I played on wood lanes with a amf bobcat. Back then I used a cobra arm thingy and played from like board 12 over 10 and I actuallay remeber the lanes back then was very short oil back then. There was folk hooking like 20-25 boards back then also but the mostly seemed to get splits.

Anyways, nowadays I bowl with more speed and my great driller really helped me find the ball for me and drilled it perfectly for me wit a aggressive but controllable hook. On fresh oil (syntetic lane) with quite good speed I now play from 10-12 out to 3-4 board and it just carry as h-ll. with slower speeds and my mediumish revs it will easily hook much more. with my current speed and revs it has a kinda smooth flip but still a very nice flip and lots of power in carry.

Compared to my like 400 finish silencer ball the shift is much more forgiving and a massive impact.
It also hooks about the same amount of boards as my silencer that is drilled to get going much earlier. My flat silencer should hook better on fresh oil but this storm shift just flips a bit later and crushes with a nice hook.

I am very happy.

I drilled my Shift with a 4 1/2 by 3 layout, with the pin drilled out of my ring finer, with a hole on my axis.  I had heard that this ball was extremely strong so I decided to tame it down a lil with drilling the pin out and throwing a hole on my axis...(One of my favorite drillings)  I put the mass bias around 65 degrees and this ball is still one of my strongest backend balls in my bag.  Even with the hole on my PAP, the shift has an extremely angular backend reaction which definetly comes into play on the longer patterns after they break down when I can migrate left and go around them a lil more.

ive had my storm shift for a couple months now and i am nothing but impressed with this ball.i am a hig rev player medium ball speed.this ball is very aggressive and i love how much backend i can get out of this ball and the way it hits the pins doesnt leave many 10 pins for me.i am only 15 and averaging 165 my 3rd year of bowling.

After my first Shift cracked…I received a new one a decided to try a trick layout drilling.

Place Pin 1½ inches away from my
Vertical Axis Line and 4½ inches away from the PAP
Mass Bias at 80 degree angle to the right of the thumb
And a balance hole drilled 1” to legal

-----0-0--*--
---------------
-----------cg-
------O-mb--

This layout is a trick-Flare layout for high rev high track players.
I was somewhat skeptical on the drilling since after all it wasn’t a normal drilling but I decided to take the chance.  I left OOB finish and began to bowl on a freshly oiled “not buffed” heavy oil shot. Previously I play around 3rd arrow out to about 5 board with my r47. At first I noticed this ball cleared the heads very we’ll but needed allot of head angle to make a good transition. With the backend being spotty where as I was playing a huge arc before I was able to play a tight breakpoint with my shift. 17 mph with about 350 rpm a little less than  normal, the ball seemed to transition strong and snap like no ball I have thrown not being on a buffed backend. First game 235, second 243, third 288 766 the ball was amazing.  I truly cannot wait to use this on a fresh shot with a cleaned backend…the ball will surely hard snap. I also must say this trick drilling is amazing for all high rev players ‘with high tracks’ this ball allows the ball to clear the heads and pick up in the midlane and create a huge big backend reaction. A must try for all players of this style.

Ill post a link to a video later on
and if you have any questions about this drillling please message me and ill help as much as possible.

I really love this ball as long as I have medium heavy oil or heavy oil. I chose the "House" layout for this ball. Good lenght with an awesome backend move. I have not had to change the factory finish,

See stats for profile. This is my second Shift.

Lay Out: 5" from PAP over my ring finger at a 65* angle. This would be a 65/5/35 dual-angle drilling. I have not touched it with a weight hole.

Surface: I have been leaving this at box which is 1500 polish. I have just been cleaning the surface of dirt.

Purpose: To give myself a ball that could be used on longer patterns and ones with medium volumes. This was replacement for a Shift that I threw literally everywhere last fall and tracked out.

Initial Observations: I have tried this out on some house conditions, our PBAX and Sport league patterns, and PBA Central Region patterns. My second reads in the same spot as the first did. I can cut my angle down on more oil and go up the lane. I can go to a stronger wrist position and go away from the pocket some. I use this on the medium/longer patterns like Scorpion and Chameleon, but can back my hand out of it and go up the lane on Viper if the lane surface plays long (is slicker).

Final thoughts: This ball will always have a spot in my bag as it put me back into the honor score category again. When giving arsenal advice, this ball always get mentioned as a particle pearl. It is very different as it is the most angular particle ball I have seen or thrown.

This ball is a piece of crap that used to roll out and hit like a marsh mellow on virtually every condition I ever used it on (this is one bowler who does not miss particle balls at all).  The only good I can say about the ball is at least it was the one that cracked and not the BVP Rampage I bought at the same time which was a far superior ball and one I still use today.  Soured me on Storm for many years until recently got a Hy-Road which is a great ball made about the same time but infinitely better (as in Lexus vs Yugo better).
