Well I was suprised, I had took some of your words for this ball not being as agressive(hooking) as the 2000.  This ball out hooks the 2k easily.  I had both balls drilled the same.  I dont know all the bowling language but I will try.  The pin is 2 1/4 out, top weight is 2.25.  The pin is directly under my ring finger. Center of Gravity is half inch above thumb. I stand left and through out to the right and let it hook back, avg speed 12-14mph.  By the 3rd game my arm is wore out and the ball hooks through the middle.  So I must go back to the 2k. This ball seems to work best if I keep it inside and not go outside because it leaves alot of 7, 8, 10 pins otherwise.  Last year I was bowling about 179avg, bought the 2k and jumped average to 192, this year through 50 games I had a 197 average with the 2k.  I drilled this ball this week and the 2 series were 570 and 579.  So that is a little under average.

My is drilled with the pin above the index finger and the mc2 is right where my thumb hole is. It works better with some dry or clean backends. If there is a lot of oil I have to slow down the ball speed. The lanes are oiled to 32 feet and buffed to 36 feet. But the ball HITS hard and carries very well. It doesn't over react holds the oil line.

We have drilled many trauma Recovery with awesome success. This ball is forgiving in many conditions.  Mike has averaged about 235 with his for month now on a variety of conditions.  Brandon we drilled one up fr bowled 2-280 and a 300 in the first week he owned it on heavy oil.  Most amazing one we  drilled was for Corey who throws his ball about 28-29 mph and has never hooked a ball more than 4-5 boards, we drilled his with pin down leverage and he was hooking the ball about 12-15 boards and amazing power hitting the pins.. 3 times in first game he rought pins flying out of the pin deck on to the lane as dead wood!!  I would suggest this ball to anyone as i have seen every style roll this ball with success and not one person unhappy in slightest

I bought this ball 3 weeks ago. Pin is about 2 o'clock. Cover is box condition.
I have been bowling very good with it so far. The ball seems to move well in oil and goes longer than I would have thought on dry back ends if you push it some. It hits very hard. For me (a tweener) it stores energy up well and unleashes it just after the flip.

I have the Recovery drilled for an even roll down the lane.
I love the predictability of this ball. I do not see the use in oil that I have read several of the reviews say. But it could be my ball speed. I throw the ball around 19.5mph. It will out hook any otherpearl particle ball though.
When there are decent backends this ball is a terror.

I just got this ball on friday(2-15-02)and bowled ot on my league at the same nite without having any practice with this ball.  Usually i would take the time to practice with a new ball before using it on league games but i guess i was too anxious to try it and after playing with this ball is pretty good so far.  Pretty readable track and line which makes its easy for me to adjust but then again im a lefty bowler.  My ball goes long and snaps hard back at the pins and crushes the pocket.  I was jus laughin at the kind of reaction i was gettin.  Even at times when I hit the pocket late and almost seemingly left the 7 pin the one pins comes rolling all the way from the other side of the lane and takes it down.  Pretty good carry overall.

As far as drillin specs go....the pin is about 11:00 just above the ring finger which makes the ball go longer and reacts tamer.  The MC2 just to the right side of my thumb rite before my track. A balance hole drilled along the pap.  This kind of drilling gives me a more controllable and predictable line.  The ball goes long on the oil part and snaps toward the pocket when it touches dry part of the lanes.

This ball sucks hard. I dont care what storm says, this ball is made for dry lanes. This ball hates oil more than anything, and hits horrible, no ringing 10's here, all flat. The Too Hot hooks 5-10 boards more then the recovery, sad when recovery is supposed to outhook the Too Hot. I'd rate the recovery as follows....Lenght (1-10); 7. Backend (1-10); 6. Overall hook (1-10); 7. Recomended lane condition, med-dry to dry!

this is an update to my old post....this is the second time ive used this ball on my league and ive finished with a 627 series(199, 234, 194) i prolly wouldve had a higher score but ive struggled in the last game because the lanes started to become dry...as i have said before i have this ball drilled to go long and snap in the end which pretty controllable in most conditions...with this ball i dont have to do any work...all i have to do is just make sure i hit my line and sit down...this ball hits like mack truck on rocket fuel when it hits the pocket...added to all that power the kind of angle where im hitting the pocket and a decent 45 degree axis tilt and i get solid and decent mix...i guess my only problem with this ball is when the lanes dry up however its still pretty much controllable as long as a put some speed on my throw.....overall i give this ball a 9.5 out of 10

Just a quick blip on this ball.  Let this ball get a little track on it.  It doesn't react well out of the box.  I threw it a couple of games in my normal leagues.  I didn't like it until I wore it in a little.  I now have 5 full games on this ball and it has a great reaction.  It really will not hook on oil.  I do fire the ball pretty hard, so the reaction I get will be different then a slow player will get.  This ball hits like a truck and carries light shots very well.  This ball is drilled with pin over my ring finger with the pin out.  I do not advise this ball for over under conditions.  It will tick you off. Overall if there are back ends this ball rocks!!!

This ball is an incredible work of technology.  My average is a 196 and after using it for the first time right out of the box I shot 729 series (237,239,253).  The lanes had heavy oil and this ball cut through it with no problem.  I am i high rolling lefty and i recomend this ball to anybody who has trouble on heavy oil.  Thank you Storm for such a great piece of work!

Mmmmmm.....smells good.  The great thing about the scented Storms, if the ball stinks, it still seconds as a great air freshener.

On with the review...

Specs:
15 lbs.
3" pin
2 oz. TW
Box finish

Layout:
4 X 4 stacked
X-hole on VAL, 1 3/4" below PAP

Drilled for a righty tweener with good speed.  Looking for something for medium to medium/heavy that can could stay in your hand for a while.  I love the concept of particle pearls, you get the length of a pearl, but have the smooth transition of a particle cover.

Tested the Recovery on a fresh house shot (34', 5-5 top hat).  Customer has been throwing a Stinger two piece drilled 5 X 5 (pin over bridge).  His problem with this ball on the house shot is that after the transition, he has no where to go.  If he moves in, it tends to squirt.  If he slows it down or gives it more hand, over/under.

Anyway, we took the Recovery and instantly noticed that it was stronger than the Stinger.  It seemed to read the lane a foot or so earlier, but wasn't quite as jerky as the Stinger.  Moving 3 and 2 left, we were able to play the oil line and not worry about the squirt that we did with the other ball.  In fact, once we started playing the oil, we didn't worry about anything.  Bowled almost 3 full games before even having to think about moving.  This ball is really incredible.  It clears the first 15 with ease, but it slowly reads the lane and doesn't start it's stuff until it hits the dry.  A big, continuous move, that annihilates the pins when it gets there.

Overall, I think this would be an excellent benchmark.  It is truly and medium condition ball that handles dry well.  I could see many bowlers using this one for days on medium to medium/dry conditions.  There is a limit to how much dry it can handle, after 10 games or so the Recovery started reading too quick and hitting flat.  On the other hand, I could see the bigger handed guys just getting deeper and deeper and never putting this ball up.

Not very good on tournament level oil, but for everything else a big thumbs up!

I bought this ball just last week and it's working good down the lane, but I think this ball is just good for medium to med-heavy. it doesn't produce a good breakpoint as i expected on this. I rate it length 5/10, backend 7/10
Rating: 8/10. Storm still produces quality ball!

All I have to say is this ball is probably the most versatile ball on the storm line right now.  Not only can it come back but also will slide to the pocket when you make a mistake.  Only problem maybe when the ball gets on a brokendown lane condition.  Ball has a serious tendency to over react on the lane.

this is a real strong ball playing a outside line. i can move in after 2 game when lanes start to break down.seems to carry and hit real hard.storm has really been turing out some great balls lately.i tried polishing it but for me it gave it more lenght about 5 ft but turning the corner it seemed to lose hiting power.it should have a place in most tournament players bags.nice ball storm!

I was hesistant about trying this ball after my experience with the El Nino 2000.  The El Nino 2000 is a good ball, but it was a too condition specific for my liking (did not drive thru oil carrydown).  The Trauma Recovery is a different story.

The Recovery works very well on medium conditions with carrydown, and also works well on drier lane conditions.  On drier conditions you will have to increase your speed to keep this ball in the pocket, but it has plenty of energy to shatter the rack.  The Recovery has excellent carry, however it will leave some ugly splits if you go a little high into the pocket.  The midlane reaction is smooth and the backend is very strong, but yet controllable unlike some reactive pearl balls.  I have yet to try this ball on a flooded condition, but I have the Trauma Response for heavy oil.  The Trauma Recovery is definately another winner by Storm.
You will not see me on the PBA Tour, but I love the game!!!
