I have been looking for a ball like this for a long time. It has a strong roll with a real nice arcing/driving backend. You will need head oil for this ball. It hits real hard. I like the smooth transition this ball has from wet to dry. If the pearl X-Factor is getting a bit over and under for ya this will smooth it out. This is probably the best ball I have thrown.. ever!

I bought this ball at the Storm shop at the
abc tournament. This ball is the best I have
ever thrown. Reads the midlane well and has
a very strong arc on the backend. Carry is good
also. I have not rooled a Storm in years but
this ball makes me want an x factor. Also
Thanks to the people at the Storm shop for
a grate drill pattern for me. They listened
to what i wanted out of a ball suggested the
duece to me and the ball does exactly as
advertised. That may be the norm for most
but living in Knoxville I have trouble with
the pro shops here. Will probably purchase
2 maybe 3 more balls before the abc leaves town.
Any suggestions on other good Storm stuff
would be appreciated.  see my profile for
more info.

Had this ball for a week or so now, and have used it in a couple of different leagues and tournaments.  Deuce is 15 lbs., and drilled close to stacked leverage.  I love the ball reaction on this piece of equipment.  Good length, and an explosive backend.  Not a super sharp snap, but rather a hard arc to the pocket.  One shot in a tournament this weekend was very oily on the outsides but good backends and this ball gave me a great look.  Outhooks my Monster SmashR by a few boards, and is not quite as strong as my Swamp Monster.  Works in good tandem with my Eraser Boost, as the Boost goes a bit quicker when the Deuce starts to leave 10 pins.  Only problem I have with this ball is I like the surface dull on it, and after I dull it, the cover gets that glazed over look kind of quickly on it, and it begins to lose a little reaction.  Other than that, a great ball from Storm, and I think I will do very well with this ball.

X-factor deuce
PIN-PAP 2"
RAD in Strong position

Storm has done it again. A beautiful ball that hits like a truck. I have played 3 weeks with my 15 lbs deuce and I love it when I got enough oil. With my drilling i kind of want to leave the 10th pin behind. It kicks hard at the backend. Maybe I buy number 2 soon. I love it!

Thank you Storm!

Drilled this ball using layout 1 with the RAD in the A position.  Ending up being slightly negative, but not a problem.  Bowled on fresh house shot and this ball was a monster all night long.  Treated it prior with Docs Magic and pretty much held the same line all night long.  Left one ten pin all night which is very uncommon in the house I bowl in.  This ball carried everything, from light shots to somewhat high flush.  I have used everything to bowl in this house including many Buzzsaws and this ball was the hardest hitter hands down. I will soon get myself another with a stronger layout and use it as a tournamnet ball.  Do yourself a favor and get this ball if you are bowling on medium to heavy oil, you will not be dissapointed.

Ok! I just got my Deuce on the lanes today. Here's the setup:
pin-4", above ring finger
top-3.5"
fingertip-drill
lanes were medium to medium dry.
Well, let me say that I have a X-Factor, a Track Freak Out, and a Track Mutant. This Deuce is WAY stronger than all of them! Even though the lanes were a bit dry, this ball still hit like a tank! I'm medium speed, medium revs, down-&-in! Even when I went wide(outside of 5), it still came back to the pocket(Lacked a little energy, but didn't leave any crazy splits!). If I pulled the shot at the bottom and went brooklyn, There was more than enough backend to pull all 10 off the deck!

Just a sidebar-I shot a better game with my Mutant(221)than with my Deuce(191), but I attribute that to the fact that I've been throwing the Mutant for a while. We'll see what happens tomorrow!

UPDATE: Ok, I've had this ball for a while and I have come to the conclusion that this ball doesn't fit my type of game. I've done everything from sand it to a high gloss polish and I'm finding that it rolls out and loses all it's punch. It worked ok on a synthetic lane with a broken down shot, but I am not on synthetics very often. I'll give it a little more time, but..(Plus I hate the way it smells.LOL)
Bowling makes NO sense to me...because I suck!!

Greetings!
Punched the Deuce close to the layout I had in the X-Factor. CG 1" above the center of my grip. I tipped the pin 10 degrees off of ZERO. Or just right of 12 o'clock. The pin ended above the center of my ring finger. Keep in mind. My equipment is 14lbs. The pattern was a christmas tree house shot. Pretty easy! I lined up with my left foot on 20, and use 8 as my breakpoint. 45' down the lane. My front target was around 12. Pretty easy soft swing shot. OK. The first couple of balls went through my breakpoint, pretty fast. I was pretty pumped up to throw the ball. After claming down. The ball cleared the heads with ease. As the ball got into range of my breakpoint. The roll increased. Visually, I had no problem with the ball. As the ball saw dry. The ball wanted to recover to the pocket with a smooth sweeping motion. VERY EASY to read! By the end of the night. I moved 2 left with my feet, and kept the same breakpoint.
The ball gave me 257,258 and 228. 743 out of the box.
This is just another GREAT ball from the STORM development team.

My first Duece was drilled as follows:  15lbs, 3-4 pin with 3.40 top weight.  I put the pin on my span line, under my fingers with the cg kicked out to the right, and a low hole.  This is about a 5 inch pin for me, with the RAD at about 45 degrees.  I had to use a fairly large hole, I think 1 1/32 deep to get the ball back to legal.

I have been using this layout alot lately.  5 to 5 1/2 inch pin gets me decent length, and mass bias position gets me good read on the midlane without a big booming back end.  My speed is kinda soft and I like my stuff geared for the PBA conditions.  Controlling the break point and pocket is important for me.

Bowled with the ball on a broken down shot (after league) with box condition, and the ball burned up very early.  Heavy roll in the midlane, nice smooth backend motion.  A little bit weak, but I think would be excellent on fresh oil.

I then shined this ball with Storm #2.  Not super shiny, just buffed up.  May go too long on the fresh for high speed guys, but was awesome on the after league condition.  Hit very hard, threw 9 in a row twice.  (wasn't keeping score)

I tried this ball in a regional last weekend, wood lanes, bad heads.  Worked fairly well, as I was playing out, using as little hand as possible, had good control in the midlanes.  Just not quite enough length.  (Shot 141 over my last 4 with a Boost drilled same layout to get a check!)  The first two boards were scorching dry, and this ball did not bounce really hard off that, gave me a good read, forgiveness.  Actually hooked a little less than my Tour Power on this condition.  The ball used up alot of energy in the first half to two thirds of the lane.  With a little more oil in the front, or better heads, this ball would have been nasty on the gutter.

Overall, I think this will be a pretty good ball.  Nice for fresh oil.  May flare too much or too soon to be used for dry lanes.  I think the tweeners and straighties will like this ball because of the midlane revs.  Not used to seeing a ball that rolls like this from Storm.  Will have to drill more of these.  Pretty good compliment to the X Factor, as it rolls up much earlier and smoother on the back end.

Ball hits good, and most anyone can use this ball effectively, with the right surface adjustment and layout.

Hope this helps ya.....

This is my first anti-columbia ball in 5 years. However, in talking to my pro shop operator, we came to the conclusion that this ball would be the best complement to my ICON 300. (See my other reviews for the specs on the 300). Drilled it with the A drilling (Eric Forkel's favorite), and polished slightly with Storm's Diamond gloss.

I like this ball, we set it up to fit in my arsenal very well. Bowled on a Saturday morning shot after the juniors had finished so the condition had a lot of tracks on it. When I opened up the lane and had a nice track area the ball had no problem finding the pocket. I little bit of a problem with the carry. I would have to venture to say it was half me, half bad racks. Lets just say I shot 4 no tap 300's with the ball.

The ball had a flare pattern on it about 5" in a nice consistent bowtie. (No multiple  tracks so no over under), the ball hooked right out of the oil and kept on moving, just drive (no set) in the shot. So I put it all together in game 6 and shot 226 by taking a little finger out of the ball and just let the ball do the work. I remembered what Pete Weber did in the Tar Heel Open and what Randy Pederson was talking about with Pete's release, in the "if you can see his five fingers" he released it correctly opinion.

Bottom line is the ball hits hard, drives hard, and doesn't quit. I have to agree with Mike Austin's review the tweeners and strokers will enjoy the movement on this ball. My recommendation is that this ball may not be for everybody, either talk to your pro shop operator or local pro to see if this ball will fit in your arsenal.

UPDATE: 699 My first real challenge with the ball, 214 279 206, despite the three opens I had which were my fault, The 279 was first 8, weak 10, punch.

Compared to the first X-Factor, this ball covers 5+ more boards for me on a condition with freshly oiled heads and clean backends.  I have both the Deuce and the Original drilled 5 x 5 with no extra hole.  The Deuce coverstock makes this ball more angular in the backends. I polished mine with Storm's Reacta-shine, but I recommend trying the box finish first and shining only if necessary.

Another excellent ball from Storm!

Well, I shot a 300 tonight with the Deuce.  11 balls buried, last one through the nose!  788 series, 767 last friday.  I'd say it does pretty good.  I had to get further left of center than the Original X-Factor, but same results.  I am losing my accuracy because I have 10 boards of area with these 2 balls!

I picked up a Deuce because my original X-Factor fell victim to house damages and the center replaced it.  So, I figured, let's get something new, right?  Wrong ...

Visit my profile for my personal specs/ see my X-Factor review for layout info.  Basically, it was drilled to roll early.

I used the same layout on the Deuce that I did on my X-Factor .... oops.  This ball has WAY too much cover combined with a very aggressive layout.  It's really tough to control this ball where I bowl normally, there's just not enough oil to get the ball down the lanes.  The Deuce is approximately 8-10 boards STRONGER than the original.  But, I have to keep this ball between 15 and 10 the entire way down, otherwise i'll pay the price.  If this ball squirts outside 10 and hits the dry, it comes back too hard and almost goes jersey.  However, when it's kept on the oil for most of it's ride don the lane, it holds its line and gets into a very hard roll.

As far as rating this ball, I give it a 9 out of 10.  This ball will work great on synthetic houses, or wood houses that flood the outside of the lanes.  It rolls VERY hard, and hits even harder.

If you want a Deuce, and you have a decent amount of rotation, use a length layout.

UPDATE:  I polished this ball with Black Magic(black bottle)  I was able to get the cover to where it read the lane better, and delayed the reaction.  I'm able to keep this ball on the lane longer, and my scores have been higher.  I just bought a Hot Rod to complement this bad boy, will be posting a review sometime this week on it.
