"Throwers elbow"
« on: March 17, 2007, 08:36:14 AM »
Has anyone out there ever had whats called throwers elbow or golfers elbow? Its a pain in the inner elbow joint with some pain in the inner forearm. If so how long did it take to heal and did you do anything to help it along.Thanks.

I had the same kind of pain, when I bowled my inner forearm muscle would "pop" and send a buzzing pain on my funny bone and through out my arm.  I wore a elbow sleeve brace for 2 weeks, almost 14 hours a day.  I also began using a wrist/forearm strengthener, and I haven't had a problem since.

It can last for a very long time, don't be affraid to drop down in weight with the ball, I am going to 14's to save my wrist and it HITS just as well.  Grips should be comfortably RELAXED not stretched, have a look at yours. It really is ok to have a little space between the palm and the ball, really i swear!  It makes the game playable for some that couldn't before.

Overall, take a couple of weeks off, take some Ibprofen or other anti inflamatory a couple times a day and try not to lift weights much and it SHOULD heal up pretty quick.
