2 Dimension Design Intent
« on: January 16, 2009, 09:43:27 AM »
Intent:
To develop a pearlized version of the Dimensionâ„¢ with enhanced traction in the carry-down and increased entry angle to the pocket.  We knew the perfect complement to the original Dimensionâ„¢ would be to wrap the Continuumâ„¢ core in a pearlized version of the R2Xâ„¢ coverstock.

This would give us added length and increased entry angle to the pocket on medium to lighter volume patterns.  This ball would also be the perfect go-to ball once the Dimensionâ„¢ starts to read early friction in the front of the lane, causing it to slow down too fast.  The idea is to utilize a different type of mica that would change the surface profile of the coverstock and create enhanced friction with the lane surface.

What we have developed could possibly be the next evolution in surface technology.

Design:
The success of the original Dimensionâ„¢ keyed on two factors.  The first is the extremely aggressive R2Xâ„¢ solid coverstock, and the second is the unique design of the Continuumâ„¢ core.

Our first initiative was to develop a new version of the R2Xâ„¢ pearlized coverstock. We altered the type of mica used in the coverstock to create a greater surface profile than our previous pearlized coverstocks, and engineered the all new R2Xâ„¢ Pearl with E.T.M. (Enhanced Traction Mica). With the change in mica we saw a 15% increase in surface profile using the profilo-meter, and an increase in friction values down the lane of 10% on average using the C.A.T.S. (Computer Aided Tracking System).  These values stayed consistent from 1000-grit Abralon finish all the way to factory polished.  This translates into the most aggressive pearlized coverstock that we have ever released from Storm Products.

The finishing touch for the Second Dimensionâ„¢ was the utilization of the Continuumâ„¢ core.  This uniquely symmetrical low RG and high differential part fuses two asymmetrical halves to create the ultimate in continuous motion.  The Continuumâ„¢ core utilizes the driller-friendly aspects of a symmetrical design along with the superior performance characteristics of asymmetry.  This guarantees predictability from foul line through the pin deck.

In conclusion, Storm® continues to develop innovative technology, such as the Second Dimensionâ„¢, that works for bowlers.  That’s why we are “The Bowler’s Company.”

I threw the 2nd dimension tonight on Chameleon for a 4 game set. I was able to use it all 4 games but it was better in the last 2.(I couldnt resist throwing it though)

I would say the 2nd dimension is a little smoother than a cell pearl on the back and a little bit earlier. I think its a similar reaction to a Gravity Shift with more angle down lane.

Compared to a similarly drilled dimension, its way cleaner in the front and definitely more angular on the back.

So far so good, I'll keep throwing it and see what happens.
Wow! You already got the 2nd Dimension?!? How did you get your hands on one of them already??? How did it roll? I bet it just straight HOOKS! Did you beat up on some people on that tough, tough Chameleon last night? Let me know, please!

I am a really really great bowler and totally cool, that's how I got one. I scored extremely well on the tough tough ABT modified Chameleon pattern, but that's because I am a rev-o-tronic pinky tucking machine.

It hooks because I am good enough to make it hook and strike a lot.

I drove my opponent to throwing the ball over hand and kicking the ball return and area seating.

Any other questions? LOL
Wow! Your really good and cool! Are you ABT exempt? Sounds like your opponents have no sportsmanship and sound like a bunch of douches! Can you get me a 2nd Dimension as well?

No I'm not ABT exempt, I'm too good. My opponent was a true loser and a DONK.

Send me your address, I'll try to get you one.

Z Jellsey, check your PMs. I sent you my address. I don't want to pay shipping, so can you pay that as well? And I want the specs on it with 3-3 1/2 pin. Thanks!
